Chapter 15 : This is gonna be the best day of our lives

Sofia's POV

It was going to be an amazing weekend. For the first time for so long, we were going to spend two days of holiday as a family, with no one else. This time there would be neither Penny, Carina nor anyone else. It was going to be perfect.

Since we had moved to New York, and more specifically since their evening together last week, I had the feeling there was something that had changed between Mum and Mum. They had both evolved, they both looked happier and more fulfilled.

I still did not know if they would ever get back together again. The truth is that I did not ask them any questions to avoid making them feel uncomfortable.

On the way to the Hampton, we listened to old songs from the 80s and boy band songs in the car, dancing and singing loudly.

We were simply happy, simply happy to share this moment as a family. After a few hours on the road, we arrived in a small village on the ocean shore, where Mama had rented a small house.

As we had reached our destination at the end of the day, Mama went straight to the grocery shop to purchase some food for dinner.

When she was back at the house about ten minutes later, we both had already settled our things and we were waiting for her in the garden of the house, a beautiful garden paradise overlooking the beach.

"I'm back!" She said as she joined us.

"What have you bought?" Mummy asked, lying on one of the deckchairs.

"Tonight," Mamma explained, "I have decided to prepare you a Mexican dish."

"Which one?" I asked, interested because Mexican dishes had always been my favourite, even more so when they were prepared by Mama.

"I will prepare you some tortillas." Mama answered.

"Awesome," I exclaimed enthusiastically, "I love your tortillas. Undoubtedly, they are the best in the whole world! Shall we go for a swim before we start preparing dinner?"

"Darling," Mummy agreed, "of course we can go swimming."

The three of us went upstairs to get ready and put on our swimming costumes, then we ran into the water.

The sea was pretty cold, but we were feeling so well it really didn't matter. Joy enveloped us in its arms and warmed us up.

We played in the water, watering each other and swimming. It was nothing but an excellent time, one of the best moments of my life.

After our bath, we came back to the house and dried off.

"Sofia," Mummy asked, "I think maybe you should go upstairs, have a shower and put on your pajamas. Meantime, Mama, and I are going to cook dinner. Is that OK?"

"That's OK!" I answered before running upstairs to get ready. "I love both of you!"

Callie's POV

It was almost instantaneous: no sooner had Sofia been out of our sight than Arizona approached me and embraced me with all her tenderness.

After a few seconds of pure passion, we finally parted.

"Arizona," I said as I started cutting the vegetables, "we really need to talk to Sofia. She needs to know about us."

"Why should we tell her?" Arizona asked as she started to cook the meat. "I thought we agreed to go at our own pace."

"Doing things at our own pace doesn't mean we are allowed to lie to our daughter. I feel really bad about lying to her constantly."

"We are not lying to her, or at least we are not completely lying to her."

"Arizona Robbins," I explained, looking straight into the eyes of this woman I loved from the depths of my heart, "I think we should tell her and share our happiness with her. She has also been through a lot in the last few months watching us fight. Besides, we had said we had to be sincere with each other."

"You're probably right!"

"Listen, I constantly want to kiss you and I don't want to stop it just because she's around the corner."

"I just don't want to rush her or us. I just want us to go at the right speed."

"The best way not to rush her is to tell her the truth and avoid any unnecessary shocks. I don't want her to see us in the same bed if she doesn't even know we are back together."

"Then I agree! Let's tell her."

She kissed me to express her agreement.

"Do you know why I agree with you?" Arizona asked.

"No, I don't."

"I agree to talk to Sofia tonight," Arizona whispered in my ear in an extremely sensual voice, "because I desperately want to share my bed with you tonight."

"It would be a pleasure to share this king-size luxurious bed with you, my love, and to make love with you all night long. Moreover, I have checked and the soundproofing in this house is absolutely fantastic."

"As a conclusion," Arizona ended, "we absolutely need to talk to Sofia this dinner to announce her we are back together."
