"A Saiyan? What in the name of Mahal's hairy balls is a Saiyan," Dwalin asked.

Bilbo scrunched his nose at Dwalin's rather descriptive question.

Kumiko rolled her eyes and chuckled, "A Saiyan is a warrior race from a different world, Master Dwalin. I was sent here as a baby by my mother when my planet was destroyed by a tyrant known as Frieza."

Kumiko then explained what she knew about her people and planet, but she left out the part about turning into a giant ape. There was no reason for the Dwarves to know all of her secrets. Dwalin, Balin, and the others sat there listening with rapt attention, while Ori furiously wrote down everything Kumiko said. When she finished her tale, Kumiko left the Company in awe.

Thorin stood apart from the others and listened as well; he too was in awe of the story that Kumiko was telling them, though he was a little wary of the little female. Could she truly be trusted? As if reading his thoughts, Gandalf walked towards Thorin, "You do not have to worry, Thorin, Kumiko, is very trustworthy. She will not betray you."

"Are you sure?"

"Quite sure."

Thorin nodded. After that, Gandalf and Thorin began to speak about the Troll's cave and decided to investigate it. Gandalf, Thorin, Dwalin, Bofur, Gloin, and Nori entered the Troll cave. While the other Dwarves buried the gold they had found, Thorin and Gandalf explored further in the cave where they came across the Elven blades. Thorin reluctantly accepted the sword then they left the cave. But not before Gandalf found a dagger for Bilbo.

"Bilbo."

"Hm."

"Here. This is about your size," Gandalf gave Bilbo the elf-made dagger he found the trolls' cave.

" I can't take this."

"The blade is of Elvish make, which means it will glow blue when orcs or goblins are nearby."

"I have…I have never used a sword in my life. Kumiko wanted to teach me, but I refused."

"And I hope you never have to. But if you do, remember this: true courage is about knowing not when to take a life, but when to spare one."

Bilbo nodded.

Kumiko walked towards her brother, "Don't worry, Bilbo. I promise I will teach you how to use that now."

Bilbo sighed, "Alright. But please go easy on me."

"Of course, Brother," Kumiko said with a smile

Somehow, Bilbo didn't believe her.

Suddenly, Thorin yelled that something was coming. Gandalf shouts for the Dwarves to stick together and to arm themselves. Kumiko pulled out her sword and pushed Bilbo behind her. Without warning, Radagast bursts through the trees on a sled pulled by rabbits, "Thieves! Fire! Murder!"

Gandalf relaxed, "Radagast the Brown. What on earth are you doing here?"

" I was looking for you, Gandalf. Something's wrong. Something's terribly wrong."

Gandalf led Radagast away from the others, "Yes?"

While the two wizards talk, Fili and Kili walked towards Kumiko and smiled at her. She eyed them warily, "Can I help you?"

Fili smiled at her, "Well, we were wondering if you can teach us how to fight the way you do. You know, hand to hand combat," Fili said with Kili nodding next to him.

Kumiko thought about it for a moment, "I suppose I could teach you a few things, but you have to ask your uncle. I don't want to have any trouble with Thorin."

"You won'; wee promise," Kili said.

"Still, I want you to have his permission."

The brothers look at each other and nod, "Alright."

Suddenly everyone hears howling, "Was that a wolf? Are there wolves out there?"

"No, that was not a wolf," Bofur answered.

Suddenly something growls from behind them, and they all turned to see warg scouts, and they start attacking them; Kili and Thorin manage to kill two of them.

Thorin pulled his sword from the warg's neck, "Warg scouts! Which means an orc pack is not far behind!"

"Orc pack?" Bilbo asked nervously.

"Who did you tell about your quest, beyond your kin?" Gandalf asked angrily.

"No one," Thorin said.

"Who did you tell?!" Gandalf yelled.

"No one, I swear. What in Durin's name is going on?"

"You are being hunted."

"We've got to get out of here," Dwalin said.

"We can't the ponies bolted," Ori informed the others.

"I'll draw them off," Kumiko volunteered.

"No!" Thorin said.

"I'll do it instead," Radagast said.

"These are Gundabad wargs. They will outrun you! Let Kumiko do it."

"These are Rhosgobel rabbits. I'd like to see them try."

With the decision made, Radagast took off in the opposite direction of the Company. As the wargs chased Radagast, the others followed across the plains, hiding behind boulders. But sometimes Radagast would cross their path, causing the others to take cover. But as Radagast led the Orcs away, one lingered on a boulder above the Company. Thorin signaled for Kili to shoot it with his bow. Kili quickly stepped out and hit the warg, causing it to fall. But Kili's shot did not kill it, and it began to howl, and the Orc began to fight back. Kumiko dashed forward and grabbed the Orc, and quickly broke its neck.

But the damage was done. The other Orcs heard its cries, and they forgot about Radagast and changed course, "RUN!" Gandalf shouted.

Thorin and the Company followed Gandalf across the plains. They had no idea where they were going, but it seemed that Gandalf did. The Orcs were gaining on them, and Kumiko couldn't let her brother get hurt, so she stopped to face the Orcs.

"Kumiko! What are you doing?!" Thorin yelled.

"Go, I'll catch up."

"There's too many of them, come on!"

Kumiko turned and smirked at Thorin, "Not for me."

Bilbo grabbed Thorin's arm, "Come on, Thorin. She'll be fine."

Thorin looked at Bilbo and saw that he had all the confidence in the world in his sister. Thorin nodded and began to run again. Once the Company had gotten away, Kumiko drew her sword and waited for the Orcs to get closer. The Orcs noticed her and rushed her. Suddenly, Kumiko moved so fast; it appeared that she disappeared, and she quickly killed the wargs and their riders, decapitating the wargs and stabbing the Orcs through the heart. Before they could comprehend what was going on, Kumiko had already slaughtered a dozen of them.

As this was going on, Gandalf led the Dwarves into an underground tunnel. Thorin made sure that everyone made it inside the cave before he entered, "Kumiko!" He yelled.

Kumiko turned to see where the others had gone. She quickly took to the air and rushed towards the tunnel. She swooped down and picked up Thorin and flew into the cave just as they heard the Elves' horns approaching. The Dwarves were trapped in the cave until Dwalin noticed a path.

"I cannot see where the pathway leads. Do we follow it or not?" Dwalin informed them.

"Follow it, of course," Bofur told him.

"I think that would be wise," Gandalf said with a small smirk on his face.

Kumiko looked at her friend, and her eyes narrowed, "Where are you leading us, Gandalf," She whispered.

Gandalf shushed her and winked.

She looked at Bilbo and rolled her eyes.

They followed the path for several miles, and as they traveled, Kumiko and Bilbo started to notice energy coming from the walls. Bilbo looked at his sister, "Do you feel that?"

"Yes, it's a strong ki signature," Kumiko said.

"It feels like magic to me."

"Hmm, how interesting that you two feel two different things," Gandalf said.

"I'm sure it's the same thing, Gandalf," Kumiko said, "But as a Saiyan, I feel it differently."

When they emerged from the tunnel, they were overlooking a valley, and Bilbo gasped, "The Valley of Imladris. In the common tongue, it's known by another name."

"Rivendell."

"Here lies the last homely house, east of the sea."

Thorin turned and glared at Gandalf, "This was your plan all along, to seek refuge with our enemy."

"You have no enemies here, Thorin Oakenshield. The only ill-will to be found in this valley is that which you bring yourself."

"You think the Elves will give our quest their blessing? They will try to stop us."

"Of course, they will. But we have questions that need to be answered. If we are to be successful, this will need to be handled with tact and respect and no small degree of charm, which is why you will leave the talking to me."

Kumiko snorted at Gandalf's comment, earning a glare from Thorin. She gave him an innocent look and began to walk down into the valley with the others.
