A tall man entered the library holding in his right hand a cage that was 2 times the size Jewel was in. It could hold 2 birds, as if Tulio was expecting it.

"It's time Linda" said Tulio, he didn't take off his snowy shoes anymore, he just stood in front of the door and waited for Jewel and Blu to come downstairs. Linda sighed, then got up from behind her desk to follow the stairs upstairs. Meanwhile, Blu and Jewel were having a late lunch talking to each other about various topics

They didn't even initially pay attention to the woman being next to them.

"Blu, Tulio has come. It's about time... We'll wait downstairs," Linda said, then turned back downstairs. As she looked at Blu, she was reminded of their best moments together, which made her want to cry.

"What do they want from us?" asked Jewel.

"Well... It turns out that you can't stay here any longer, so you have to go back to Brazil as soon as possible... You're flying out today" summarised Blu. Jewel initially laughed nervously upon hearing Blu's message, hoping that it was just a joke. However, seeing that the man wasn't smiling it reached her that it was a fact.

"Ekhm...I don't know what to say" sighed Jewel. Blu just nodded and they both sat in silence until Jewel made an offer.

"How about... Come with me to Brazil?" said Jewel quietly looking into Blu's chocolate eyes.

"Would you really like to?" asked Blu. Jewel just nodded with a motion of her head. Blu was happy inside that Jewel wanted to go to Brazil with him, but he remembered the words of his 'friend'.

"I have to confess something to you... Actually, I should confess it sooner" began Blu interweaving the words.

"What, what should you confess?"

"You asked me a few times why I wasn't flying... To be honest it's not that he doesn't want to... I just... I can't fly!" said Blu, at which he embarrassed himself immensely like never before.

"You can't fly?" repeated Jewel calmly asking. Blu nodded with a movement of his head, which was bent downwards anyway.

"Well... I honestly don't mind," replied Jewel after a moment's thought.

"How come... It doesn't bother you that..."

"No...if you wanted to we could try to teach you to fly" replied Jewel.

"And if that doesn't work?"

"That's okay, the important thing is that we'll be together" replied Jewel, then she gave a kiss for Blu, who blushed all over at which Jewel giggled.

"Alright, why don't we go down there" said Jewel.

"In a minute, I'm just going to write on a piece of paper what choice I made."

"And what is that choice?"

"I'm flying with you..." replied Blu. He snatched a sheet of paper from a notebook that was lying on the kitchen counter, picked up a sharpened pencil lying next to it, then began to write sentences. When he finished, he headed downstairs with Jewel. When they got downstairs, Tulio and Linda were talking to each other, and mostly it seemed like Tulio was comforting Linde as much as he could.

"So how's Blu, are you flying with us?" asked Tulio. Blu handed a card to Linda, who took it and read it quietly. Linda picked it up slowly and read its contents.

"Yes..." she sighed, then quickly put it down and turned it inside out, as if she didn't want to see the contents of the card.

"I see..." Tulio sighed, then looked at the clock. It was 4 p.m.

"You know Linda, the plane is at 6p.m. and the airport is not that far away. Say goodbye to Blu and come to the hotel, which is down the street. Room 55, I'll take Jewel at that time" Tulio said, then put the cage on the ground.

"'I'll see you in an hour' said Jewel, then obediently entered the cage.

"See you later" said Blu.

"Just be on time, I don't want to miss my flight" said Tulio as he picked up the cage that Jewel was already in. The woman nodded with a motion of her head. The man with the parrot left the library.

Half an hour later

Linda was sitting at the table looking, most likely for the last time, at her protégé caressing him with her hand. She stared at him continually without pause with her large, intelligent eyes, Blu in turn occasionally casting a glance at her. Both Blu and Linda were not happy about the fact that they would be separated most likely forever. Blu knew that he wanted to go with Jewel to Brazil, but at the same time he did not want to lose Linda. Unfortunately it is not always possible to keep everything and the male spix Macaw knew that very well.

"It is a weak friend for me to leave Linde after what she has done for me... But I do it for our species"

"Don't feel bad about Blu leaving" began Linda which got Blu's attention who stopped avoiding her gaze.

"We lived a beautiful 15 years together, there were various situations through which we laughed, cried or argued (laughed Linda when she said this). I think it's a sign to start a new chapter in life. You will start your adult life, I will have to learn to live without my friend... " sighed Linda. Every now and then she took deep breaths to keep from starting to cry. She struggled to keep the tears from her eyes.

"I have one request Blu... Don't let your species become extinct" Linda said stroking Blu's head.

"It's not hard for me either" thought Blu. He stepped away from Linda for a moment to snatch another piece of paper from his notebook to write another message. Linda took the slightly yellow card with her hand.

"Hah...no Blu, I can't go to Brazil with you, my home is here... I have to take care of the library, work. I can't leave this," Linda explained. She leaned her head against her hand and stared at Blu.

"How quickly this time has passed... I remember when you were tiny and afraid of everything... And now, you're about to start a family... I wonder if in 15 years we will meet" Linda sighed. Blu sent a brief smile to signal that he hoped so too.

"Are you going to miss me?" asked Linda, to which Blu nodded with a determined shake of his head.

"I'll miss you too..." replied the woman, then looked at her watch. It was 5.40 p.m.

"It's late... Let's go better," Linda said getting up from the table. Blu jumped off the countertop and went downstairs, waiting for Linda to get ready to leave. She had to take her jacket, her shawl with her. Blu looked around him. He wanted one last look at the library where he had been for fifteen years. Where he grew up, where he woke up every day by the window, where he was greeted by the sunshine.

"I'll miss the TV... The books... My neighbours... I'll even miss the vitamins... Yes, even them... Toast, tea, coffee...I'm going to miss a whole different life..."

A moment later Linda came downstairs ready to leave. Blu jumped onto her shoulder.

"Shall we go?" asked Linda. Blu nodded with a motion of his head, then Linda opened the door...

Thank you for reading the chapter! See you later!
