Jan. 5

Enos,

I've never been more glad for Christmas to be over in all my born days! Twelve drummers all drumming. But did you have to send them so early in the morning? Or at least that they would play the same song in tune together? The ruckus that they kicked up has affected every single animal that you've sent over here. The cows all broke free from their pasture, causing Bo and Luke to have to go and chase them down. The the birds that could all flew away, meanwhile the hens busted nearly every egg in the hen house in their panic. The men and the women took the opportunity to all leave, too. I don't even want to think about where they went, either.

Now I'm heading out to town and beg Boss not to evict us. He already has claim to eighty percent of my tips but I'm hoping that he'll relent if I offer him an extra five percent.

Enos, do me a favor. Next year, please just give me a card. I think I've had enough gifts to last me a lifetime.

Daisy
