I am an idiot for thinking that this time will be different, but I've toyed with the idea for years now and figured, why not throw it out there since this story was so important to my development as a writer?
Looking back, Evil Eye didn't have nearly as big a reader base as the rose tinted glasses lead me to believe, but at the time it was my biggest and most actively engaged in story, and I still remember it fondly to this day, even though I've since written (and also abandoned) a different and significantly better TLR story. Snapped was as I imagined this story to be, and while I can't truly equate the two since their focuses are so different, I still can't act like I don't compare them in my mind frequently. After all, it was because Snapped's original author followed this story that I briefly edited for him, and ended up turning it into my own, so they are linked in origin.
I still have yet to read the manga, though I intend to, and looking back, both at the original and at my effort to remake the setting, the way this story turned out is one of my regrets in writing. It was one of the last stories I wrote with the pure mindset of someone who just wrote what he felt like without worry for the quality and structure, and one of the last stories that crossed the 9-chapter barrier that I ever wrote.
I am very different now, both as a writer and a person, but EE has stuck with me as something special. I know I may be talking to air, and this probably won't last long, but screw it, I'll shoot to the wind anyway and see if someone's still listening. I've got a discord now for story things by the way. CBpcmAV
Should I bring this story back, remastered, updated, and with new purpose? Should I just recreate it in a new format, or should I start from scratch and do the character-heavy style I did with Snapped?
Is Evil Eye worth digging up from the grave?
