Clase Trial Resume

"Now we need to discuss who the culprit is and figure out who would have the time and luxury of killing Damian before anyone found him," Paul began.

"Then we should discuss our alibis," Willie said with power.

"But I doubt anyone can vouch for anyone else with how early the death was," Shana commented with remorse.

'That may be the case with most of us but not everyone.' I thought.

Non-Stop Debate

Loaded Truth Bullets: Ollie's Account, Tommy's Account, and Monokuma's Account

"So let us discuss who could have been able to kill Damian and who is safe," Willie began the debate.

"If I recall correctly, he died at around 6:55 AM. Just before the morning announcement," Luca stated.

"Then was anyone out and about before then? I wasn't," Paul said.

"Not me," Tommy also stated.

Shana was next, "I was in my room."

Willie spoke up, "I was alone,"

"I left my room at 7 on the nose," Melinda chimed in.

"..." Ollie remained silent as did Luca.

"Well, that's just fantastic. It seems everyone is a suspect," Paul grumbled.

Truth Bullet Fired: Ollie's Account

"YOU'VE GOT THAT WRONG!"

Counter!

"Wait, there are two people who are safe," I informed them.

"K-Kai!" Luca suddenly shouted at me.

Taken aback by his outburst, I stuttered, "H-Huh? Wha-What did I say?"

Paul sneered at me. "If you know who they are, you better tell us."

That's when I realized why my outburst was a bad thing. I couldn't explain why Ollie was with Luca to Paul! He'll freak the freak out if he learns what she's been doing behind his back.

"Oh… well, me and Luca went for an early morning workout. We were in the fitness room for an hour and were together when the morning announcement played," I lied.

Melinda chuckled, "I can see you're lying."

Soon Willie commented, adding, "And I know you're lyin'. I was in the fitness room for my morning workout and I was alone when I got there at 6 like always."

Paul glared at me harder, "What are you trying to hide from us? Answer me!"

Ollie let out a sigh. "It was me, not Kai. Leave him alone."

"O-Ollie… I'm sorry…" I apologized to her, feeling so guilty right now.

"It's okay. It would have come up eventually so it's fine it didn't occur to you keeping it silent," Ollie replied, soothingly.

"What are you saying?" Paul asked her, very sternly.

Ollie looked over to him with a bored yet serious expression. "I invited Luca to an early morning picnic in the botanical garden and he accepted. We met up there at 6 AM and were together the entire time, even when we discovered Damian's body."

Melinda's breathing suddenly became ragged. "You… were on a date?! WITH THE ENEMY!?"

"He's not an enemy! No one here is except for Monokuma!" Ollie shouted back.

Monokuma went red in the face as he huffed out. "Ooh! Such heart-pounding excitement! This is the kind of drama I was hoping to see! A crossroad of lovers upon lovers upon lovers in an orgy of torment and hatred!"

"SHUT UP!" Literally everyone one of us screamed at Monokuma.

Monokuma blinked before folding his arms as he began pouting, "Hmph! Whatever…"

"We will finish this discussion later," Paul warned Ollie as his icy glare collided against her fiery stare. "So then, Ollie and Luca are free of suspicion since they were together throughout the time of Damian's murder."

"However, someone may have just dug their grave," Melinda giggled with glee.

"They did? Who?" Willie asked her and all she did was stare at him and he soon saw all of us staring at him. It soon clicked and he shouted out, "Whoa! Hold up there! I'm the someone?! Why?!"

"You just told us you were in the fitness room at 6 this morning alone with no one to support your alibi," Melinda explained with a wicked smile.

"But it's true! I always wake up at 6 every day and go workout in the fitness room. I swear!" Willie pleaded.

"Actually I can vouch for him," Ollie spoke up.

Melinda sneered at her. "Oh… you again."

Ollie rolled her eyes. "Yes, me again. I was behind Willie when he entered the fitness room before I passed by to go to the botanical garden and set up the picnic I made for Luca."

Luca then added, "I can also vouch for him too. I saw him in there working out as I passed by him. Granted, I can't say he didn't kill Damian since I just passed by for a moment and didn't see him until after we found the body. But he definitely couldn't have done anything for the first bit of the hour."

"But he still could have…" Shana grumbled.

"But I didn't! However, I ain't the only suspect 'ere! Besides Luca and Ollie, we all aren't free of suspicion!" Willie pointed out as he also pointed at all of us.

"True, everyone else was still asleep or on their own when Damian died. Until we have more evidence to narrow things down then I think we need to continue discussing things to help us figure out who the killer is," I suggested.

"Is there anything unusual you noticed Ollie or Luca? Anything at all would be helpful," Shana requested of them.

Ollie shook her head. "I doubt it. All I saw was Willie go into the fitness room at 6 as he said and I set up my picnic in the garden. After a moment, I heard a snap come from the thicket of trees where we played our game yesterday and saw it was Luca coming in. Nothing unusual happened for us."

"Wait… what? You heard me?" Luca suddenly questioned her in confusion.

"Well… yeah. I heard a twig snap and the next thing I saw was you walking in," Ollie replied back.

Luca blinked, looking almost unsure of how to respond, but responding anyway. "But I walked around that thicket of trees. I didn't go through it. I thought that branch snap was you keeping an eye out for me and you rushing back to the picnic blanket to make seem you weren't watching for me."

"Not me. I was sitting on the blanket the entire time I was waiting," Ollie told him.

"Wait, so that snap Ollie heard wasn't Luca, and Luca thought it was Ollie but it wasn't either?" I asked in surprise.

Tommy looked confused. "What's the big deal? Nature makes sounds like that all the time."

Melinda sighed in annoyance. "But the botanical garden isn't exactly natural. Sure rare and remarkable floral grows inside but it is an inside garden with no natural wind, sunlight, or animals that could cause a twig to break. The garden can only make such sounds if someone is interacting inside."

"Then that means someone else was in the garden besides Luca and Ollie!" I deduced.

"But who could it have been? Everyone else doesn't have an alibi for when the murder took place," Tommy said, looking baffled.

"I bet it was Willie. After all Ollie and Luca both saw him alone," Shana assumed.

"No way! It ain't me!" Willie hollered at her.

"Then prove it!" Shana shouted back.

"What if the love birds are covering for each other?" Melinda suddenly suggested.

"But what if they're not?" Tommy asked.

"We need to solve this now!" Shana, Melinda, and Tommy all shouted out in unison

'Oh God… here we go again.'

Mass Panic Debate!

Loaded Truth Bullets: Bloody Sink Valve, Footprint in the Dirt, and Dirt Comparison

"I'm telling you it's Willie!" "I think Luca and Ollie are covering for each other," "How are we gonna figure out who the third person in the botanical garden is? No one else was around as far as we know!" Shana called out, Melinda theorized, and Tommy moaned out.

"And I'm tellin' ya, I did not go there!" "And you know that as fact?" "Quit your whimpering and make yourself useful for once in your life!" Willie shouted back, Ollie jabbed at her, and Paul sneered.

"Luca and Ollie both saw you as they met up together!" "It's a highly educated guess. After all, who knows what other secrets you're keeping from us," "Hey, lay off him. Just because some of us can handle the pressure of the class trials doesn't mean everyone has to," Shana growled, Melinda replied accusingly, and Luca defended Tommy.

"And there's nothing that can prove my accusation false!" "Better than being a cold-blooded bitch," "Tough shit. This is our fourth time here. If he isn't used to things by now, he's as good as dead," Shana continued, Ollie snarled out, and Paul huffed at him.

Truth Bullet Fired: Footprint in the Dirt

"I CAN HEAR YOU!"

Counter!

"But Shana… you're accusations don't work for Willie," I told her.

"Of course they do!" She shouted at me.

"No, they don't and this is why," I retorted as I brought up the image. "In the same forest of trees, Luca and Ollie heard that mystery person was a footprint I found in the ground."

"A footprint? Whose is it?" Luca questioned.

"I don't know. It's only the imprint of the toe of the shoe but you can see pretty big indents in them and only one kind of footwear would have a sole like that. The third person in the garden wears boots!" I confirmed to everyone.

"So what? Willie wears boots! That doesn't mean he isn't cleared of suspicion!" Shana argued.

I pointed to her. "But he already is!"

"How the hell can you be positive?" Shana growled out.

"Because he wears cowboy boots! The bottom of his boots are completely smooth and flat," I answered.

Willie smirked as he lifted his leg up and slammed his foot down against his banister. "That's right! I'm wearin' genuine boots of a proud cowboy; spurs and all! How could I hold the title Ultimate Cowboy if I didn't dress the part?"

"And the footprint has multiple spaces with grooves in them which more so reminds me of work boots or hiking boots and nothing like cowboy boots," I enlightened Shana.

"I can't believe it…" Shana whispered.

"What? Cow git yur lips?" Willie mocked her.

Luca sweatdropped at his remark. "Um… the saying is cat got your tongue. But I also don't see how it could be Willie and for more than just how the footprint doesn't match up. If it was Willie in the garden, then he would have needed to run past me after I passed him to get to the garden before me and make the twig snap when I came in."

"There's no way since both me and Luca saw him in the fitness room since we didn't stop when going to the botanical garden. That makes it impossible for Willie to have been in the garden at all today," Ollie added.

Paul nodded in understanding, "So then we have another cleared of suspicion…"

"Wait!" Shana interrupted him.

"Not this again," Paul sighed out.

"Just because Willie wasn't in the garden doesn't mean he didn't kill Damian," Shana noted.

Willie glared at her, "Woman! Just leave it alone already! What the hell is yur problem!?"

"But if Willie is the culprit then there's something odd with what we found on Damian," I responded.

"My light will shine on the darkest of lies to expose the truth!" Shana screeched out.

"Like what? Don't tell me your siding with the sexist hillbilly, Kai?!" Shana screamed at me.

"No, I'm not taking sides. It's just that the evidence doesn't match up!" I shouted back.

"Then you best show me the proof! I won't believe you until you give me the evidence that backs you up," Shana stated.

'Guess I have no choice. Shana's really fighting back on me about this but why?' I asked myself.

Rebuttal Showdown!

Truth Blades Prepared: Dirt Comparison, Bloody Wrench, Trail of Blood, Status of the Dead Body, and Glass Shard

"Just because Willie wasn't with Luca and Ollie doesn't mean he's cleared ==/== of suspicion! He could have easily killed ==/== Damian as everyone else has been lacking an alibi for ==/== that time," Shana expounded upon.

"But just because no one can account for Willie when Damian died, doesn't mean we need to assume he's the only one of suspicion," I reminded her.

"I'm not saying no one else isn't free of suspicion but I think it's too ==/== early to think he isn't a suspect anymore. With how he's ==/== been acting and trying to lead our discussions, that just makes me think he's trying to mislead us."

"But you're not exactly helping yourself by doing the same. If anything you're acting just like him," I told Shana.

Shana snarled, "Don't you dare say I'm like him! I'm not a sexist piece ==/== of shit! All I've been trying to say is Willie may still be the killer since we can't be sure he isn't ==/== connected to the crime scene!"

Truth Blade Used: Dirt Comparison

"I'LL CUT YOUR WORDS DOWN TO SIZE!"

Counter!

"But there is evidence that already concludes Willie isn't connected to the crime scene when you compare the dirt from the garden to the spots found on Damian's clothes," I sternly said.

"What?" Shana asked, befuddled.

"I felt the dirt I found on Damian and compared it to the dirt in the garden and they both felt fresh. So fresh in fact I can't imagine it not being dirt from anywhere else," I explained.

"Not like the dirt came from anywhere else since that is the only accessible place to track dirt but it proves the dirt on Damian isn't old since it hadn't dried yet," Melinda commented.

"But what if Damian was in the garden and it was already on him?" Tommy questioned.

"Not likely at all. There were only two spots of dirt on him. One on the chest and one on his left ankle yet the bottom of his shoes and the rest of his body was completely clean of any dirt. I seriously doubt he was in the garden at all unless he was covered in more dirt but the fact that he has it only on his ankle and chest makes it seem like it was more likely placed on him by mistake. I'm willing to bet that it was wiped on him when he fought against his killer," I theorized.

Luca gasped "Then that would mean…"

"The third person in the garden with Luca and Ollie is the killer since they must have tracked some dirt with them and then wiped it on Damian when they fought," I finished Luca's thought.

"It certainly sounds plausible and since we already confirmed Willie could not have been present in the garden then he is indeed not our culprit," Paul concluded.

"YEEHAW! I told y'all! What now, ya witch!? Can't corner me now, can ya?" Willie taunted Shana who just hissed under her breath and looked away.

Melinda then began lightly laughing, "Then all we need to do is determine who's wearing boots and who's not and we'll narrow down our results."

Willie began speaking, "Since my cowboy boots have been cleared, I think I'll do the askin'. Luca and Ollie are already cleared but do either of them wear boots?"

"No. I wear slip-ons and Luca has sneakers," Ollie answered.

"And the rest of y'all?" Willie asked looking at everyone else.

I chimed in. "I got sneakers on."

"As do I," Paul said.

"So Kai and Paul are clean, too. So their testimonies are now truth! And the last three of ya?" Willie interrogated them.

Melinda smiled in silence as Shana and Tommy also remained quiet. "Well, the fact none of y'all are speakin' up and the fact I can see all three of you vermin have boots on means we have three suspects."

"Willie, you said our testimonials are now considered the truth, yes? Including my own?" Paul asked the cowboy.

"I do recall sayin' that," Willie acknowledged him.

"Then I can say that I'm one hundred and ten percent possible that Melinda is not our culprit," Paul suddenly revealed to us.

"You must be joking. How many times are you gonna defend each other? Seriously, when's the wedding?" Shana asked, sarcastically.

"I only defend her if I am certain as she does with me. Anyway, my reason for not doubting her is because when I woke up and exited my room from when the morning announcement played, I saw Melinda also exit her room too. Then we made our way to the cafeteria to eat but no one else arrived except for Kai who arrived about ten minutes later," Paul expounded on.

"And how does that clear Melinda of killing Damian?" Luca asked.

"Think about it. If Damian died five minutes before the announcement went off, could she have gotten rid of the evidence, washed off the blood, and gotten back to her room in time for me to see her come out?" Paul asked.

"No, to do all that in five minutes is not possible," I answered.

"Wait, maybe it is possible," Luca suddenly said thoughtfully.

"Wait, really Luca?" I asked, taken aback.

"Sorry, but a thought just came to my mind. No offense just hear me out," Luca requested us.

'I wonder why Luca thinks Melinda is capable of doing all that in such a short time," I thought.

Loaded Truth Bullets: Damian's Past Behavior, Victim's Medical Records, Bloody Sink Valve, and Trail of Blood

"I think Melinda being the Ultimate Huntress could have been able to kill Damian and get back to her room in time for Paul to see her," Luca began.

"What a waste of time," Melinda growled out, obviously annoyed.

"Sorry but you're very physically adept so all you would need to do is grab a handful of evidence and run down to the first floor and back to the dormitory hallway and just stash it away in your room!" Luca hypothesized.

"But she surely would have been covered in blood since Damian was violently vomiting blood when poisoned," Paul argued.

"I don't doubt the killer wouldn't have gotten blood on themselves but all she'd need to do is quickly swap the dirty clothes off and wash any blood off her skin with a damp towel or something," Luca refuted.

"But what if the blood was washed off closer to the crime scene?" Paul proposed.

Truth Bullet Fired: Bloody Sink Valve

"I BELIEVE YOU!"

Consent!

"Luca, you must have forgotten because Paul is right. The killer washed off the blood close by where Damian was killed. In fact, it was in the bathroom of the Nurse's office. Remember? The sink valve wasn't shut off entirely and it had some blood on it, too. It had to have been used by the killer to wash off any blood they got on themselves," I reminded him.

Luca blushed and looked away in shame. "Oh… right. My bad, I did forget that. Sorry, Melinda."

Melinda huffed at him. "Not like you're out of the doghouse yet." She replied, her words spoken to Luca yet her eyes were trained on Ollie.

"Can we be sure the sink wasn't used by Damian?" Willie asked.

I shook my head. "Not possible. Damian left a trail of blood that only leads from in front of the desk to the bed he now rests in and he only lost blood when he began vomiting due to the poison. The only scenario is the killer turned on the sink to clean themselves off but they were in such a rush not only did they not shut off the water all the way, but they also didn't clean the valve off when they first turned it on."

"Well then, that leaves us with only two suspects," Willie chuckled as the room fell silent as everyone now stared at the two suspects standing next to each other. Shana grabbed Tommy's arm and pulled them together with a death glare in her eye.

"It's not us! Tommy and I would never do anything as lowly as this!" Shana growled out but her voice sounded weak. I knew she was losing her composure because either she knew she was being cornered or she didn't want to accept the truth. Either way, I knew this trial wasn't going to end well at all.

"Why don't you lovebirds just fess up and admit it? One of you knows you didn't kill Damian so tell us who you are and we can get this over with," Paul told them.

Tommy blinked before he pushed up on the duct tape on his glasses as he breathed in looking like he was about to speak but suddenly Shana began screaming, "We don't have to because neither of us did it!" Tommy soon nodded in agreement with the same look of determination in his eyes he shared with Shana.

Paul glared at her. "I can see why Willie gets so infuriated with you but then again I already knew you were a pain in the ass but not on such a personal level."

Willie quietly chuckled to himself before speaking up, "Everyone. We don't need them to confess. We already have the blackened figured out."

I blinked at him. "We do?"

"Who?" Ollie asked, puzzled by Willie's statement.

"We know the culprit had dirt on them when they wiped it off on Damian yet one of our remaining suspects is still covered from head to toe in dirt," Willie pointed out as now all our focus shifted from two to one. Shana's face went pale as she began trembling and pushing herself into Tommy's side over their pedestals.

"No… no no no! It's not me! I swear I didn't kill Damian!" Shana cried out.

"We gave you both a chance to sell the other one out but you blew it. Don't blame us for your difficulty!" Paul scolded them.

"...Wait something doesn't add up," I said, realizing something.

Shana smiled at me. "Kai! Thank you! I knew you wouldn't abandon me!"

"What might that be?" Melinda asked me.

"Open your ears and you might understand. I want to discuss what the most likely sequence of events was after Damian was killed," I told them.

"Fine. Let's do it and get this harlot punished fast," Willie growled out.

Loaded Truth Bullets: Footprint in the Dirt, Bloody Sink Valve, and Tommy's Account

"So the killer murdered Damian and then what did they do?" Luca questioned everyone.

"Do we have to go over what we already confirmed?" Paul sighed out.

"I think it's necessary," Ollie replied before responding to Luca, "Most likely they first grabbed evidence like Damian's motive and the needle."

"They probably next put the poison and medicine in the medical cabinet to try and hide the fact they were used," Luca continued.

"Then they would need to wash the blood off their body and run off!" Willie jumped in.

Truth Bullet Fired: Bloody Sink Valve

"YOU'VE GOT THAT WRONG!"

Counter!

"But if Shana washed herself off then why is she still dirty? If she washed off the blood then there shouldn't be any dirt on her and yet she's still covered from head to toe as you said," I informed him.

Paul suddenly laughed out loud, making my smile slowly cease. "Your foolish attempt is futile. Don't you remember her little quirk? She can't get clean no matter how much she washes herself. A sad thing to have happen for the Ultimate Miner, however, it saves us the trouble of scrounging up the killer any longer."

Shana slowly shook her head at us. "No… no, you've got to believe me! I swear on my grandma's grave I didn't kill Damian!" Her watery eyes darted to Tommy. "Tommy, tell them how wrong they are! You know I'm not the killer! After all, we've been through together, you know I would never do this! Tell them!"

But Tommy's eyes were covered in shadows as his head tipped down as he remained silent. Shana's eyes widened as she slowly removed herself from Tommy and stepped back. "Tommy? W-Why aren't you defending me? Why are you not arguing for me? I don't understand."

And frankly, I couldn't understand it either. I also saw how intimate their relationship was and how strongly they cared for each other and yet here Tommy was not saying anything to help Shana. Was it because he doesn't think she is innocent or is there another reason? Before I realized it Tommy looked at me and responded to what I had thought.

"Kai… you wouldn't understand," Tommy said to me. I must have said that outlook without realizing it.

"You're right, I don't understand why you are hanging Shana out to be beaten like this? I know you care for her beyond anything!" And that's when a flash hit me like lightning. "That's it."

"What is it, Kai?" Luca asked me, worried.

My eyes squinted at the couple as I asked, "The love of your life is next to you and yet you do nothing? Is it perhaps because you believe your motive was a lie?"

Shana blinked. "What are you talking about?"

"Remember the motive I found tucked away in Damian's hat? The one that warned of someone's love was the next to die. What if that motive belonged to the only two in a current relationship? Yet Shana is here defending Tommy but he can't seem to do the same. Is it perhaps because he doesn't want to be found out or maybe it's too painful pinning his crime on the one he cares about?!" I soon found myself shouting the more I spoke.

"NO! Tommy wouldn't pin this on me! We're both innocent! I… I can prove it!" Shana shouted back.

Non-Stop Debate!

Loaded Truth Bullets: Tommy's Account

"This is getting ridiculous! Just confess one of you is the killer so we can end this!" Paul screamed at Tommy and Shana.

"Never! We will never admit to a crime we never committed!" Shana screamed back.

Luca tried stepping in to help calm them down. "Please, this isn't easy for us either. We don't want to sacrifice a friend but if we want to survive, we have to do something or we all die."

"But you're saying Tommy or I am the killer when it could never have been one of us!" Shana yelled in agony.

"But how is that possible?" Ollie asked Shana.

"Because we were together all night! He slept in my room last night because of the motives!" Shana told us.

Truth Bullet Fired: Tommy's Account

"I beg you! Just stop this!"

Counter!

"Shana… either you're lying or Tommy was because that's not what Tommy told me. He told me he went to your open and vacant room when the morning announcement played after he woke up in his room," I cleared up with her as she just gawked at me in response.

"So now both of them are lying about where they were before the morning announcement. With Tommy's silent treatment and Shana's obvious lying, how are we supposed to piece together who the killer is!?" Paul shrieked out.

"Actually there is a bit of evidence I believe points to the killer. Both were in the Nurse's office," I answered.

"Then out with it!" Paul barked.

"First, I'd like to expand upon the dirt comparison I did before. While yes I can confirm that the dirt was fresh and came from the botanical garden, the dirt on Damian's body had a more grainy feeling," I admitted.

"A grainy feeling?" Ollie pressed me to explain and I did so. "Yes, like sand was mixed in. Now, Shana, you work in mines, right? Tell me what it's like working in those mines?"

Shana seemed hesitant to answer but soon she did. "My father's mines are in caves primarily filled with speleothems or cave formations typically formed from limestone but we mainly get covered by wet soil and mineral dust."

I then continued, "And I'm assuming most of the dried dirt on you is that yes? So if the soil from the garden got on Shana, it would mix with the dirt on her body to create a composition different then what it was like in the garden. Now, I'm no geologist but I'm pretty sure soil and dust shouldn't feel like sand between your fingers once dried. So why does the unknown composition between Shana and Damian not match up? Not to mention the fact that all the dirt on her body and boots are completely dried up while the footprint was in fresh dirt and the dirt on Damian's clothes was also fresh."

"It must be because it isn't the same," Willie assumed.

"Exactly. But there is someone here who while not dirty like Shana is, has had dirt on them the entire time they've been here. Someone who works in sandy places like deserts and rocky areas where other sedimentary rocks are found. Anything you can tell us about those fossils you carry with you, Tommy?" I interrogated him, hard.

"..." Tommy remained silent.

"Leave him alone, Kai!" Shana yelled at me.

"Not this crazy bitch again!" Willie shouted in frustration.

"Not until you all stop this! Stop trying to pin this on Tommy! He's not the guilty party! I know he's not!" Shana cried out.

"But Shana… he's not exactly defending himself against these accusations or yours," Ollie reminded her.

"Of course not! Tommy is still processing this! He promised Damian he'd help him through this and help keep him alive when he almost lost hope! I refuse to believe Tommy would betray Damian like that when I know he's not like that!" Shana fought against us.

"But there's more proof," I told her.

She shook her head at me. "I can't believe you would do this to me. Are you jealous of my relationship with Tommy so you're trying to get him out of the picture? You realize if he's voted as the blackened, we all die, right?"

"That's not it! I'm doing this to save us!" I argued.

"There is no more proof! You have nothing left to point the finger at him!" Shana huffed.

Present Evidence: Broken Glass Shard

"Please stop resisting!"

"Shana… please take a look through this piece of glass," I requested of her.

"What the fuck do you think you're gonna gain from this?" Shana asked me.

"Just do it," I pleaded of her.

"Fine! Whatever!" She yelled out as she did as asked of her. "It's beyond blurry as hell. So?"

"Everyone else, will you also look through it?" I asked the others as well as they each took turns looking through it.

Ollie, Luca, Paul, Willie, and Melinda all got the shard and all responded with, "I can't see anything through it."

Then it was Tommy's turn and no surprise, he remained quiet. "What? Afraid to speak the truth? Afraid I already know why you won't answer?" I asked him.

"Kai, stop!" Shana begged.

"I can't!" I shouted at her.

"Uwah!" She cried out in return.

"Damian was murdered and I just want to know why! I also want to know why Tommy is the only one who can see through this glass shard! But I already know why! Tommy, where are your spare glasses?" I calmly yet firmly questioned him.

"He's wearing them, you dumbass!" Shana wailed out.

I shook my head. "Not unless they broke in the exact same manner as his original pair did. I couldn't help but notice there's some duct tape on the bridge of your glasses right there on your nose. On the exact spot where your original glasses broke the morning that Monokuma forced us to join the school club. You tucked that broken pair into your upper vest pocket and pulled out an intact pair you had on hand. So why would your supposedly intact glasses have duct tape on the spot where your original glasses broke? The answer is simple. The pair you're currently wearing is the broken pair and your intact one somehow got smashed into pieces in the Nurse's office!"

"Then the reason the glass shard is blurry is that it came from Tommy's prescription glasses!" Luca shouted out in realization.

"Because his only spare glasses were shattered into unrepairable condition he had to improvise and fix his first pair to hide the fact his glasses broke," Ollie speculated.

Paul nodded thoughtfully before continuing, "There was no duct tape at the Nurse's office so he most likely ran back to his room to repair his glasses so he could see again but that meant he had to clean up his crime blinded. That would explain the lackluster clean up he did. The needlepoint, the blood on the running sink, and the glass shard from his glasses are the result of him being too blind to see those tiny details."

"Well, how about that? Care to fight against us now, woman!?" Willie scoffed at Shana.

"Do I?" Shana whispered before her head whipped up as fire raged from her eyes. "OF COURSE I WILL YOU MOTHERFUCKER!"

"GHAAAAAAAAAH!" Willie cried out in fear.

"YOU FUCKING PRICKS! NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY I CANNOT AND WILL NOT BELIEVE TOMMY WOULD KILL DAMIAN! HE HAS NO REASON TO KILL ANYONE EXCEPT MAYBE PAUL OR MELINDA! YOU STUPID ASSHATS ARE BEING PLAYED, I KNOW IT! SO SHUT THE HELL UP FOR ONE GODDAMN MINUTE AND LET'S FIGURE OUT WHO THE REAL BLACKENED IS!" Shana screeched like a literal banshee.

Despite her scary screeches, I remained strong. "But there's no denying it. You only do so because you can't accept this is the truth."

"YOU DON'T KNOW JACK SHIT! WHAT COULD YOU KNOW!?" Shana asked me, still screaming beyond comprehension.

"I know why he killed Damian! And I'll give you the answer, so not even you can deny!" I shouted at her.

Argument Armament!

Shana: Tommy is the sweetest guy here! He's too kind and compassionate to hurt anyone!

Kai: I agree.

Shana: Whenever he made a promise to me, he kept it and I know he never would break a promise on his own!

Kai: I believe that.

Shana: I've dated him for the longest time now and none of you can understand what I'm going through right now!

Kai: But I do! More than you realize!

Shana: Then why the fuck are you saying he killed Damian when he has no motive to do it!? You have nothing to suggest he would harm anyone!

"That's just it, Shana. Tommy doesn't have a reason or motive to do what he did. But what if he did it because of his astronomically bad luck? After all, his last good pair of glasses got shattered into pieces leaving him blind during the incident so is it impossible to say it was that same bad luck that got Damian killed?" I asked her.

For the first time since our accusations of them started, Shana had no response as her eyes widened and she trembled like she was in an earthquake.

Willie slowly nodded and soon said, "That is true. We've all seen how extremely unlucky this lad can git. It's worse than a ten-cent man uncorkin' a bronc."

"Tommy, if you love Shana then please don't keep quiet any longer. Am I right in assuming you killed Damian because of your bad luck?" I asked him one last time.

Tommy remained still and then in the next moment, it was as if the faucets of his eyes broke as tears came rushing down his cheeks like waterfalls and never ceased their flowing. "Why…" I heard him whimper out. "Why did Damian do something so reckless? I tried to help him, then save him, and then all hell broke loose and I accidentally got him killed in the next second!"

Everyone was stunned silent, as was I. Soon I somehow found composure and began speaking with a frown now on my face. "I think I now truly understand what transpired and why things turned out this way. I'm going to go over this case from the beginning to ensure everyone is on the same page. I'm going to explain how the murder played out and finish this once and for all."

Tears streamed down my face as I closed my eyes and thought, 'Shana… forgive me.'

Closing Argument!

Act 1

"It all started early this morning at around 6 AM. The killer for some reason came to the garden at some point and hid in the trees. I'm not sure if Ollie was already there or arrived afterward but when Luca came in, the killer bailed but left behind a footprint and a slightly noisy exit while doing so."

Act 2

"That's when the killer made their way back down to the second floor and happened across Damian in the Nurse's office. Damian was most likely at the desk with a paper cup full of water and a giant handful of Benzodiazepine pills. Seeing the imminent danger Damian was in, our killer rushed in but not to kill him but to stop him. Damian fought back and resisted their attempts to stop him and I believe before the culprit could do anything, Damian downed all those pills and drank it down. That's when it began. Suddenly he was gasping for air and he collapsed to the floor. He was suffering an overdose and was dying of respiratory failure. Not wanting Damian to die, the culprit took immediate action. They found the needle and the bottle of Evzio and stuck it in the hole found in the lid, reeled back, and then stuck it in his right thigh. If the culprit believed Damian was okay, he would have left things as they were so I thought they thought he needed another shot."

Act 3

"However, that's when the killer's luck decided to do a 180 on them. With Damian laying on the floor and the culprit rushing to get more Evzio, they accidentally stepped on his ankle, leaving that print on him from their boot. They lost their balance and fell forward, losing their glasses in the process. I doubt the glasses broke immediately so the culprit must have been blindly searching for them and then accidentally stepped on them, breaking them beyond repair."

Act 4

"Thinking Damian didn't have much time left, they went back to the cabinet completely blinded and grabbed a bottle that probably felt like the right size and shape as the bottle before but didn't realize it was instead poison they grabbed. Taking the needle in hand again, they jammed it into the lid, creating a hole that wasn't originally there and went back to Damian's right thigh. Unknowingly holding a needle filled to the brim with poison, the killer drove it back in, most likely praying it to be over. They would soon learn what terrible fate was about to occur."

Act 5

"Damian soon began vomiting blood all over himself and must have hit the culprit too. After dropping the needle and with another stroke of bad luck breaking it beyond use, the killer must have dragged Damian from the desk to the bed for some reason. Maybe it was to hide his body or perhaps another reason. That's probably when the poison must have reached some important organs like his heart or maybe his lungs and soon our friend was dead. The killer realizing what they did panicked and began sabotaging the crime scene. They replaced Damian's motive with their own to throw us off as to why Damian was out during nighttime. They took a wrench, most likely from the school store, and covered it in the blood to once again throw us off. Then after taking away evidence such as their glasses, the needle, and possibly the page from Damian's medical records, they cleaned themselves off of any blood and dirt and left the scene of the crime to dispose of the evidence. However, they couldn't see they left too many clues behind. That's because they were blind from not having glasses which could have only been one person who has a tendency to display such a major voodoo of bad luck."

"That's why everything happened the way they did. Am I right to assume so or am I wrong, Tommy Fenster, the Ultimate Paleontologist?"

Break!

"Trust me when I say I wish I was wrong about all this but tell me, Tommy, how right was I?" I asked him.

Tommy began softly sobbing as he sank into his pedestal. "Damian, forgive me! It wasn't supposed to be this way!" Tommy wept as he cried out to the heavens. Shana was still trembling badly as she suddenly lunged at Tommy and hugged him who immediately latched onto her in return as they wailed in sadness together. Suddenly I found myself in tears and saw Luca, Ollie, and even Willie quietly begin to cry.

"It's about damn time. Let us begin the vote, Monokuma," Paul said to the headmaster of our demented school.

"Perfecto! If nothing else needs to be debated then it's time to vote! The blackened versus the spotless! Who will win in the end! The voting begins now!" Monokuma cheered out, excited.

That's when the e-handbooks lit up as the voting panel appeared before us once more. I reached forward to press the button for Tommy but stopped. Could I really sacrifice my friend like this? But I'm not ready to die yet. The timer ticked away as I could only hover above it but then I felt a hand push my finger against the screen, selecting Tommy as the blackened. It soon occurred to me that Tommy was there, helping me to vote for him with a remorseful smile on his face as he slowly made his way back to his seat.

Monokuma then said, "Now then, let's see the results!" On cue, as usual, the monitor descended from above as the tally marks piled up on Tommy's picture and virtual confetti rained down on him like some winner yet one tally mark appeared on Shana. I knew that vote had to be Shana voting for herself. She just couldn't bring herself to vote for Tommy even after he confessed. Not that I blamed her. I almost didn't vote at all if Tommy didn't help me with it.

"The majority vote has selected the blackened! Did you make the right choice or the dreadfully wrong one? Let's reveal the true blackened and find out!" Monokuma squealed in utter joy.

On cue, the house lights turned off and the Monokuma Vote device lit up in the middle of us to keep us from total darkness. The Statue of MonoLiberty flashed as the lottery ball cage spun around and around, slowly picking up in speed before a brown ball popped out of the opening from the bottom and began slowly rolling down the metal track and when it stopped at the end, we saw Tommy's pixelated face on it as it stopped in front of us as celebration fireworks shot out with a pop-up Monokuma waving tiny American flags in each hand around, to indicate the answer was correct and our reward was useless Monica's that now spewed out of the machine. No, this wasn't a celebration. This was gonna be another unwanted funeral.

There you have it! A manslaughter due to bad luck is the killer this time and poor Tommy will face execution next time! How was the trial? Did I do well? Please leave me your thoughts and tell me if you guessed the blackened correctly! Criticism is always welcome! Hope you enjoyed this double chapter post and until next time, see ya later, losers! Puhuhuhu~
