The moment Gaston walked into the cabin, Meg charged him. Aladdin and Flynn grabbed her and held her back. She fought furiously against them, but couldn't get away.

"What are you doing? Let go of me!"

"He's only here to talk," Aladdin told her.

"I don't want to hear anything he has to say!"

"Damn it, Meg!" Aladdin snapped. "He's the only one here who knows why Kale killed Hercules. Don't you want to know what happened?"

"I do," John spoke up. "This isn't just about you, Meg. We all have the right to know. So, just shut up and let him talk."

Meg stopped struggling and gaped at her former friend. When Meg didn't say anything else, Gaston told them what happened.

He told them about Helga approaching him and the deal she offered him. He told them how Helga threatened to kill Meg if he didn't agree and he didn't take her seriously, so he turned her down and Helga gave the order to Kale. He then told them after Hercules took the blade for Meg, Gaston had been forced to accept her deal because he knew Meg would come after him; so he needed to leave Tortuga immediately and Helga was his only way off the island.

"But, I'm not on Helga's side," Gaston concluded. "I'd rather put her head on a spike than put her on my kingdom's throne. But, if I kill her or back out of our deal, Davy Jones will come after me."

Meg continued to pin Gaston with a death glare. "Hercules is still dead because of you."

"I didn't want him dead! I never had anything against your captain. I only disliked him because he had you and I didn't." Gaston shook his head, getting frustrated. "No, that's not even true. I didn't dislike him, I was jealous of him. He was a good man; everything I never wanted to be, but everything you wanted. Despite my envy, I never would have taken him away from you because he made you happy and I love you."

Everyone stilled. The only person who didn't seem shocked by Gaston's confession was Aladdin. Of course he wouldn't be surprised; he knew Gaston loved Meg even before Gaston did. Gaston didn't realize it until Aladdin said it when they were on the tower.

Meg pulled free from Aladdin and Flynn's hold. She stalked over to Gaston and slapped him. "You're such a fucking liar!" she cried. "You've never given a shit about me! That much was obvious when you discarded me like an old rag doll the moment other women joined the crew."

Gaston didn't say anything to defend himself. This was not the time or place to drag up the past.

"See? You can't even deny it. You can spew whatever bullshit you want to try to save your own ass, but I'm still going to kill you." Meg unsheathed her sword.

Before she could do anything else, Gaston seized her wrist and grabbed her sword out of her hand. He tossed the sword onto the floor, but didn't let go of her.

"You want to talk about what happened between us? Fine. But, that's a conversation for when we're alone. I'm not having that discussion in front of your crew," Gaston told her.

Meg tried to pull her wrist free. Even though she was no match for his strength, he let her go.

Meg moved away from Gaston. She picked her sword up from the floor without taking her eyes off of him. "I hate you," she seethed.

"I'm aware."

Aladdin quickly moved to place himself between Meg and Gaston. "Meg, don't do this. If you kill him, you kill all of us."

Meg glared at Aladdin for a moment, before turning to look at the others in the cabin. With a frustrated cry, she sheathed her sword and looked back at Gaston. "You're not worth their lives. But, I want Helga and Kale."

"You can have them," Gaston said.

"Let's go." Meg pushed past Gaston to leave the cabin, but he grabbed her and pulled her back.

"Slow down," Gaston said. "She's still my fiancee and the future queen of the kingdom; you can't just waltz into the castle and kill her. You do that and you're still going to suffer the same fate as killing me."

"Do you have a plan, then?" Meg asked.

"In a manner of speaking," Gaston replied. "We're about to be ambushed; you'll get your chance then."

"I knew this was a trap!" Meg snarled.

"It's a trap for Helga, not you," Gaston told her. "When Aladdin came to me, he didn't know that Helga had followed me up to the tower and heard our whole conversation. I was followed on my way here. Guaranteed Helga and her crew are going to be outside waiting to get rid of all of you. However, she doesn't know I know she's been following me."

Sinbad swore and kicked a piece of broken wood, sending it sliding across the floor. "We're not exactly prepared to fight her entire crew. There're only nine of us."

"Ten," Gaston corrected. "I'm going to fight with you."

"Why didn't you tell us this before?" Mulan demanded.

"Meg wouldn't have listened to anything I had to say after that and she needed to know the truth about Hercules."

"How many in her crew?" Flynn asked.

"Only twenty-five. Her ship is small."

"This shouldn't be too bad," John said.

"You're not fighting," Sinbad told him.

"I can handle this!" John snapped. "Stop treating me like I'm broken."

A loud knock on the door silenced everyone. Gaston drew his knife and slowly opened the door. Helga stood on the other side, holding his mother's severed head in her hand.

Helga tossed the queen's head at Gaston's feet. "I suppose now they'll have to call you the Nightmare King."
