Chapter 15:

Angelus smiled as he pulled Buffy closer against him, pushing her back further against his chest. "This is nice." He whispered into her ear.

"Mmm." Buffy smiled, her eyes still closed as he buried his face into the back of her neck. "Yes, it is." She rolled over, cuddling closer to him. "I like seeing you first thing in the morning."

"Yeah, me too." He whispered, kissing her head. "It was pretty sneaky of you to come back in after my mom left last night." He teased.

Buffy shrugged with a small smile. "What can I say? I like seeing you at bedtime too… um." She paused realizing how that sounded. "You know what I mean."

"I think so." Angelus creased his eyebrows. "What do you mean?"

"Just that…" Buffy shrugged. "You know… I don't really like saying goodbye to you. It gets harder each time. I want to see you in the morning, and at bedtime and all the times in between."

"In a book club way or a normal way?" He wondered.

Buffy let out a small laugh. "You don't have to call it book club when it's just us, Angel." She paused, biting her lip. "In a both kinda way."

Angelus nodded, trying to take in exactly what she was saying. She had told him just a few days ago that her mother's rule was that she couldn't have sex if she lived in her mother's house.

"I was thinking…" She trailed off, taking a deep breath. "If I were to move into your house… if we broke up…"

Angelus frowned, he really didn't want to think about that. He couldn't imagine not being with her, the only way they would ever breakup was if it was something she wanted and even then, he still wanted to be in her life. He couldn't just walk away from her. "You wouldn't have to move out… if that's what you're worried about…"

Buffy shook her head, she felt tears stinging her eyes. She couldn't stand the thought of not being with him, even after just a week. "Angel." She whispered. "I don't think… no, I know that I wouldn't be able to see you with another girl. I… I love you too much." She glanced up at him quickly. "I know… I know that's crazy. We haven't been together very long and… I tried not to. It's just hard. I couldn't…"

Angelus smiled brightly at her, gently rubbing her cheek with his thumb. "Buffy." He whispered. "I love you too. Believe me, I know how crazy it seems. I've loved you since the moment I saw you, those feelings have just intensified since." He lightly ran the pad of his thumb across her bottom lip before kissing her.

"So you don't think I'm crazy?" She asked quietly with a smile.

Angelus shook his head, returning her smile. "Not unless I'm crazy too."

She ran her fingers through his hair and pulled him down for a kiss as she hooked her leg over his hip. "Now would be when I would like to see you at bedtime."

"It's morning." Angelus laughed softly glancing up towards one of the windows in his room before looking back down towards her. "Buffy, are you sure? I would never pressure you."

"There is no pressure." She whispered, looking into his eyes. "I love you and I want you to make love to me."

Angelus kissed her softly. "You're sure?"

"Positive." She whispered with a nod, sliding her hands around his lower back.

"You okay?" He whispered, running his hands down her bare back.

Buffy smiled. "Mmm, way more than okay.."

Angelus laughed. "I was referring to any pain or discomfort."

"Oh." She pursed her lips. "It's not too bad. It's a good kinda sore, ya know?"

"I wouldn't know." He responded teasingly. "But I do know that it's good. Amazing even."

"Do you ever feel like you're dreaming and you are constantly afraid that you are going to wake up?" She wondered out loud as she traced small patterns on his chest.

"Yeah." He whispered into her hair. "Every moment that I'm with you. We aren't dreaming but I don't want to get up. Staying in bed with you all day sounds really good."

Buffy laughed. "I think your parents would come looking for us."

"Did you lock the door when you came in last night?" He asked looking down at her.

Buffy shook her head. "No, maybe I should have."

Angelus gently nudged her over, climbing out of bed and quickly made his way over to the door to lock it. Buffy smiled as she watched him walk away from her. "With our history of people walking in on us, you probably should have." She bit her lip with a smile as he turned around to walk back towards her. "What?" He asked.

Buffy shook her head but reached out for him as he walked. He climbed back into bed, gathering her in his arms before he looked over at the clock on the bedside table. "We could probably get at least another 45 minutes until my parents send a search party. Unless my sister gets home before then."

"Would your sister getting home before then give us more time?" She asked teasingly.

"Possibly a few minutes." He shrugged. "They will ask her about what she did at her friends house, then more than likely insist that she meet you."

Buffy thought for a moment. "I don't know if 45 minutes is enough time but I can make it work." She gave him a teasing smile as she kissed down his chest, she smiled up at him when she reached his pelvic bone.

"Buffy." He laughed. "Aren't you sore?"

Buffy shrugged this time. "Is that supposed to stop me?"

Angelus laughed again, shaking his head. "Not that I mind at all, I'm completely willing as long as it doesn't cause you any pain. How about you soak in a warm bath?"

Buffy rested her chin on his pelvic bone, pausing. "Would you be joining me?"

"I certainly can." He smiled, reaching for her and gently pulling her out of bed, leading her towards the in-suite bathroom. He turned on the water, testing the temperature before turning back towards her. He smiled down at her, gently trailing his knuckle down her cheek to her neck and then her chest. "You are beautiful."

Buffy smiled, wrapping her arms around his bare waist. "You aren't so hard to look at either."

Angelus laughed before kissing her gently. "I love you." He whispered against her lips.

Buffy smiled, never pulling away from him. "I love you too."

Angelus smiled brightly at her, he couldn't believe she loves him too. He was pretty sure she would think he was crazy for telling her he loved her already. He was beyond relieved when she had told him that she loved him. He glanced back at the bathtub that was almost full, then nodded towards the tub and helped her in before settling in behind her. "Happy one week anniversary, by the way." He whispered, wrapping his arms around her midsection.

Buffy smiled, leaning further back against him. What kind of guy recognized the one week mark as an anniversary in a relationship? Her guy. "Happy anniversary, Angel."

After their bath the couple got dressed and settled back into bed, not wanting to leave the room until they absolutely had to. Angelus was honestly surprised at lunch time when no one came looking for them, his parents would normally knock on his door telling him it was time to eat and staying in bed too long wasn't good for him. Instead the only reason they got out of bed was because they were both hungry.

Finally, the couple ventured downstairs, hand in hand. Buffy looked over to Angelus with a smile, which he returned, as he led her towards the kitchen. "I swear, today you will get the tour."

"Oh, I don't know." Buffy shrugged. "I kinda like you leading me everywhere. Besides, this place is so big, I will probably get lost anyway. As long as I know the way to your room then I should be fine."

"We will make sure you have that route memorized." He smiled, and stopped walking long enough to kiss her.

"There you two are!" Jenny exclaimed from her spot in the kitchen, making a salad. "We figured you were exhausted from yesterday and needed your rest."

Buffy smiled at the women as she tossed some roma tomatoes into the bowl. "Yeah, yesterday was a long day." She turned to look at Angelus. "We should have taken a nap yesterday."

Angelus laughed quietly. "It probably didn't help that we spent so much time outside in the pool."

"But it was fun." Buffy pouted. "You know, until you pulled me under."

Angelus laughed, kissing her pouty lips, he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Aww, I'm sorry."

"You're lucky I like you." She whispered playfully.

"Just like?" He murmured against her lips before kissing her again.

The blonde shook her head, smiling. "No."

Jenny raised her eyebrows at the couple. They acted close yesterday but today, they acted even closer. They had been affectionate towards each other the day before but not to this extent. "Are you two hungry?" She asked motioning to the large salad she was putting together before turning towards the stove to check on some grilled chicken she was making.

"No offense mom, I love you but you know I can't eat those salads." Angelus shook his head. "I'm hungry 5 minutes later."

"Not even 5 minutes." His father commented as he walked into the kitchen from a hallway that Buffy had yet to go down. He placed a book on the table before looking towards his wife. "I'm with our son on this one, dear. I will have a salad, but I'm going to need something else as well."

"There's chicken." She motioned towards the stove.

Rupert raised his eyebrows at his wife. "I was thinking along the lines of a sandwich."

"What about you, Buffy?" The older woman asked.

"Uh." Buffy looked from Angelus to his mother. "Some salad is fine."

"Oh, please!" Angelus laughed, leading her further into the kitchen. "You are going to be hungry again. I know you!"

Buffy glanced towards the stove, pointingly. "There's chicken."

Angelus nodded with a grin on his face. "What else did you eat the last time I made a salad?"

"Some… croutons." Buffy said quietly.

Angelus burst out laughing. "Yeah, that is true! But you also ate a burger and you stole some chips from Xander."

The blonde looked at her boyfriend, unimpressed. "You know I wouldn't be able to steal chips from Xander. I would lose a hand!"

"Or your life." He laughed, shaking his head then turning to his mother. "Fine, we will have some of your salad but we will probably end up eating again, just a warning."

Jenny smiled as she took the chicken out of the pan to let it rest for a few moments. "I will make you a sandwich, Rupert."

"Thank you, dear." Rupert responded, not looking up from his book.

Angelus sat down at the kitchen table with Buffy beside him. "So, where is Kathy?"

"She hasn't come home yet." Jenny told her son. "I thought she would be home earlier."

"And you haven't called, texted and sent out the search party?" Angelus asked with shock. "Things have changed around here."

"We aren't that bad!" Jenny smiled, playfully pushing her son's shoulder. "Besides, Kathy is a good kid. We don't really have to worry about her getting into trouble."

Angelus shook his head and playfully rolled his eyes. "And I was a bad kid? What was the worst thing I did?"

"Well…" Rupert lowered the book he was reading to look at his son. "There was that one time you forgot to return a library book."

Buffy giggled, hugging Angelus's arm and whispered to him, "You are a saint compared to me."

"It wasn't that you were a bad kid, Liam." Jenny said, making her way back towards the kitchen counter. "You are just our first born and we worry."

Rupert nodded. "By the time your sister came around we just did not care."

Buffy looked towards her boyfriend's father, even though his face was serious, he looked towards the blonde, after a moment he gave her a small smirk.

"Shouldn't it be the other way around?" Angelus asked. "Kathy is the baby."

"Yes, but Doyle also isn't her best friend." Jenny smiled as she started to cut the chicken to add to the salad.

"Doyle wasn't that bad." Angelus defended his friend, before turning towards Buffy. "What do you want to do today?"

Buffy bit her lip, giving him a pointed look.

"Really?" He asked, surprised.

"What can I say?" She whispered. "I think I have a new addiction."

Angelus laughed. "An addiction I can get behind." He leaned down, kissing her and although his father never looked up from his book he did raise his eyebrows at the heated kiss. Angelus smiled down at her, resting his forehead on hers until his mother walked over with two salads in her hands. "Maybe we can hit Firehouse Subs tonight."

Rupert looked towards his son, first SmashBurger and now Firehouse Subs.

"What can I say?" Angelus asked innocently. "What I really missed about home is the food."

"And not even your mother's cooking at that!" Rupert said teasingly, as Jenny walked back towards the kitchen counter.

Angelus shrugged before turning back to Buffy. "Then we could hit the ghost tour."

"So date number two, on our one week anniversary, isn't going for romance, I see." Buffy teased him.

"Okay, what would you like to do instead?" He questioned.

"That's fine, Angel." She leaned her head on his shoulder. "Whatever you want to do."

"You wanted to go on the ghost tour, right?" He asked her, earning a nod. "I want to do something that we both want to do. We can pick somewhere else to eat."

"What about Bliss or Gwendolyn?" His mother asked, suggesting her favorite restaurants as she brought another salad to the table, setting it near her husband.

Angelus made a disgusted face at the mention of Gwendolyn. "We aren't really big on escargot or caviar, mom."

"Or if you are going for something a little more low key, you could always go down to the River Walk." She suggested. "There are plenty of restaurants there to choose from and most of them you won't need a reservation."

Angelus shrugged, the River Walk was actually a pretty romantic place if you go with the right person. "That's an option."

"I didn't really bring any clothes that are reservation restaurant worthy." Buffy pursed her lips, she didn't actually own anything that someone would wear to a fancy restaurant. "I mean, I didn't actually pack much of my own stuff. Mom, Dawnie and Faith packed for me."

"Why would they pack for you?" Jenny asked curiously as she made her way to the refrigerator to start preparing her husband a sandwich.

Buffy shrugged and then paused. "I was having kind of a mental breakdown about it."

Rupert closed his book and set it on the table. "Why is that?"

"Well…" Buffy trailed off for a moment. "I was nervous and then I was thinking I had a whole extra week to figure out what to pack and then suddenly we were leaving the next morning. It was just a lot."

"You have nothing to be nervous about!" Jenny smiled, gathering ingredients. "We absolutely love you!"

"Thanks." Buffy smiled, she still needed to meet Kathy though.

Angelus turned to look at Buffy, she hadn't mentioned being so nervous that she couldn't even pack for herself. "We could always go shopping, buy you something you would like to wear tonight."

"Maybe." Buffy said quietly as she ate her salad. "What's the River Walk like?"

"The Sister Grimm Ghost Tour is there." Jenny offered, assembling the sandwich the way her husband liked it. "That is the historical one that we were talking about. There's actually a couple ghost tours, restaurants, some shopping and shows. It really has everything."

"That sounds like fun." Buffy looked towards Angelus. She didn't want to go to a fancy restaurant, not that she had the money to buy a new dress to go to a fancy restaurant. There had to be somewhere to eat that was suitable for a one week anniversary that was between a sub shop and caviar. Where do people normally go to celebrate their one week anniversary?

Angelus nodded. "Sounds like a plan then, we can go to the River Walk."

"Good." Buffy smiled then looked towards the clock on the kitchen wall. "I'm going to go call my mom really quick. I'll be right back."

Jenny and Rupert watched Buffy leave the kitchen, heading towards the stairway. "That girl doesn't want to go to a fancy restaurant, Angelus." His father told him as Jenny brought the sandwich to her husband.

"What?" Angelus asked, eating his salad. "How would you know?"

"Being married to your mother for so long." His father told him. "Either those specific restaurants aren't her style or she would prefer not to go shopping to go to those restaurants."

"He's right." His mother nodded, grabbing a bowl of salad for herself. "She got quiet when you mentioned shopping, she didn't eat much of her salad and she made an excuse about calling her mother to leave the room."

"How do you know that was an excuse?" Angelus asked his mother, setting his fork down. "She's really close with her mom."

Jenny nodded, sitting down beside her husband.

"She would have said something." He told them. "She tells me stuff."

"Hey Will." Buffy greeted her best friend, sitting in the chair in her room.

"Buffy!" The red head shouted excitedly. "How is it? Is Texas fun?"

Buffy laughed. "Will, I just talked to you last night. Not much has changed."

"Oh." Her best friend whispered. "What's up? Something must have changed or you would be calling me right now."

Buffy let out a small laugh, her best friend really did know her the best. "Maybe a few things have changed."

Willow smiled against the phone. "So?"

Buffy let out a sigh. "The good or the bad first?"

The redhead pouted. "I don't like those options. If you tell me the good first and I'm all excited and then you tell me the bad then I will be sad. But if you tell me the bad first then I will be too sad to… to fully appreciate the good. Ya know?"

Buffy smiled at her best friend's response. It was very Willow. "I kinda need to know Will, or we will never get any further in this discussion."

"Ahh!" Willow slapped her forehead. "Give me the bad first, I don't want to spend the rest of the day sad. But let it be known that I don't think there should be any bad news because... because it's you and Angelus. Things have always been puppies and rainbows. Or does it have nothing to do with Angelus. Is it his family? But you said his parents were nice. Did you finally meet his sister? Is she mean?"

"No." The blonde shook her head. "I haven't met his sister yet, she spent the night at her friend's house. It's just… today is our one week anniversary and Angel suggested going to some sub shop for dinner and then his mother suggested some really fancy restaurants. I mentioned that I didn't bring any clothes to go to a fancy restaurant and Angel said we could go shopping to buy something to wear to said restaurant. I don't have the money to buy… well, anything to wear to a restaurant like that. These people are rich, Will. Like way richer than I thought. You should see the size of this house!"

"So, the bad news is you don't have the money to buy a new dress?" Willow asked, thinking quickly. "That's not that bad, this won't make me sad for the rest of the day! I thought you were going to say something really bad! Oh, maybe Angelus meant that he would buy you a dress."

"But I don't want him to buy me a new dress, Will." Buffy pouted. "We aren't like that. I told him he doesn't need to buy me things, that I like the way we are and he said he does too."

"Buffy." Willow whispered. "It's just a dress. If you want to go to some fancy restaurant to celebrate, just let him buy you a dress. Just one time."

Buffy thought for a moment and shrugged. "It's not that I WANT to go to a fancy restaurant, I just want to be with him."

"So, tell him that." Willow told her. "Tell him where you go doesn't matter as long as you are together."

"When did you get so wise about relationships?" Buffy teased her.

Willow laughed. "I don't know considering your relationships are the only experience I have. So, the good news?"

Buffy smiled. "What I'm about to tell you, you can't tell anyone."

"Oh my God!" Willow gasped. "I totally wouldn't, you know that Buffy! But, what could it be?"

"Okay, don't completely freak out, Will." Buffy said with a half smile, knowing she would anyway.

"Buffy, you know me!" Willow smiled. "Cool and calm, I don't freak out."

"Yeah, that's totally you." Buffy playfully rolled her eyes even though her friend couldn't see her. "Okay, so… me and Angel, we… well, we made love."

"What!?" Willow screeched. "Are you serious? What was it like? Was it sweet and romantic? I bet it was sweet and romantic! Oh my gosh! Tell me!"

Buffy laughed at her friend's reaction, she was pretty sure she was going to have a hard time hearing for a little while. She switched her cell phone over to the other ear. "It was amazing, Will. He was so sweet and gentle. Probably the best moment of my life, right up there when he told me he loves me."

"He told you he loves you?" The redhead gushed.

"Yup." Buffy smiled, remembering earlier that morning. "Right before."

"And you said it too, right?" Willow wondered.

"Of course!" The blonde smiled.

The two best friends talked more about Angelus, then what Cordelia had briefly told them in text messages about Doyle until the conversation turned to what Willow had been doing, mostly hanging out with Xander because her other two friends were both in Texas.

0o0o0

Buffy looked towards the bedroom door when she heard a knock. "Come in." She called from her spot in the chair.

The door slowly opened a little, and Angelus stuck his head in, when he saw her sitting in the chair he opened the door further, walking in. "Hey. How's your mom?"

Buffy shrugged. She didn't like lying to him, she just thought if she said she needed to call her mom it would be a better excuse than needing to talk to her best friend. "I didn't call my mom."

"Oh?" Were his parents right? Did she make an excuse to leave the room?

Buffy pursed her lips. "I called Willow, we talked for a while."

Angelus nodded. "Were you still going to call your mom?"

Buffy shook her head. "I can call her later. Angel…" She bit her lip as she got up from the chair. "I'm going to be completely honest with you. I don't want to buy a new dress to go to a fancy restaurant, not only can I not afford a dress but like you said, fancy restaurants just aren't us. I just want to be with you."

Angelus nodded again before whispering, "Okay." He wrapped his arms around her when she came close enough to him. "I would be willing to buy you a dress, if you did want to go to a fancy restaurant."

"Remember that time when I told you, you didn't need to buy me gifts?" She whispered, looking up at him before squinting her eyes at him playfully. "It wasn't that long ago."

"I remember." He leaned down to give her a kiss. "I'm just saying, I'm willing."

Buffy nodded. "Noted. But, no fancy restaurant, right? I mean, we don't do fancy." She paused, eyeing him for a second, just because they hadn't gone to a fancy restaurant together didn't mean that he didn't like going. He had mentioned to his mother that they didn't do escargot or caviar, but that may have just been because they hadn't gone together before. "Unless you do… do you do fancy?"

Angelus shrugged. "I have in the past."

"Oh." She whispered. "So, when you told your mom that we didn't do escargot and caviar, what you meant was that I don't."

"No." He shook his head, hugging her around the waist. "Just because I have done fancy in the past doesn't mean that I like it. I did it because of my parents and my ex…"

Buffy raised her eyebrows at the mention of an ex. Of course he had an ex-girlfriend, probably multiple, he was way too hot not to. "Oh."

Angelus hooked his pointer finger under her chin, tilting her head towards him. "When I said we, I meant we." He smiled before kissing her. "I love you."

"I love you." She smiled. "So Firehouse Subs and a ghost tour, tonight?"

Angelus laughed, shaking his head. "Yes to the ghost tour. We will find somewhere to eat on the River Walk."

"Sounds like a plan." She whispered, kissing him again. She slowly walked backwards, towards the bed, taking him with her, never breaking their kiss. She lowered herself into the bed, pulling him down too.

Angelus smiled against her lips. "I had planned on that tour of the house."

Buffy shook her head, kissing him again. "Can't that wait? I kinda have other plans for us."

Angelus laughed. "Are you sure you are ready for that again so soon?"

The blonde bit her lip, nodding. She kissed down the side of his neck. "So ready."

He laughed again when he felt her hands trying to work at his belt buckle. "Buffy, baby, I don't have any condoms in here." He glanced around the room, trying to think about where his friends used to hide them when they brought girls over. It wasn't that his house had been the party house back in high school but the house was so big that it was easy to sneak someone in and out without being seen, as well as everyone being so spread out in different wings that any sounds that were made weren't easily heard by the others that lived there. He had amazing parents, but they also gave him and his sister their privacy when they had friends over. "Any that were in here are long gone by now."

"But you had some in your room…" She whispered.

Angelus nodded. "I guess the maid still follows the same rules as when I was living here-no going in drawers, closets or desks."

He started to get up, taking her by the hand, causing Buffy to pout. "One time won't hurt."

Angelus raised his eyebrows at her, his parents had always drilled it into his head that all it took was one time of unprotected sex to result in a pregnancy. "It could. Come on." He nodded his head towards the door. "It's just across the hall."

"Angel." She whined and threw in a pout for good measure but it did nothing. He tugged on her hand gently. "Fine."

0o0o

Buffy smiled when she pulled the full length floral Betsey Johnson slip dress out of her bag. It must have been Dawn that had packed it for her, it was one of her little sisters favorite dresses. They were going on a ghost tour but she wanted to look cute, the dress would do.

She quickly got dressed then did her hair and started her makeup. Angelus walked out of the part of the bathroom where the shower was with a towel hanging low on his hips. "Looks like you are the one that's going to be waiting on me." Angelus smiled. "Oh, how the tables have turned."

Buffy laughed, shaking her head as she looked into the mirror. "I have never kept you waiting, Angel."

"Not yet." He teased her, leaning down to kiss her.

"Yummy." She smiled, kissing him again. "Good thing we don't have reservations, you would make us late."

He glared playfully at her. "It won't take me long to get ready."

"Right." Buffy nodded, seriously. "Because you are naturally sexy."

"So are you." He smiled walking out of the ensuite bathroom and into the bedroom, taking the towel off and tossing it on the bed as he grabbed a pair of black boxers. Buffy smiled, but turned away from her boyfriend and back to doing her makeup. If she kept looking then they would end up extremely late. Angelus walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her from behind. "You are never more beautiful than you are when you first wake up. Well…" He smiled wider, kissing her neck. "Maybe this morning after we made love."

Buffy laughed, turning around in his arms. "What about this afternoon, after…"

"You are always beautiful, Buffy." He whispered, kissing her lips. "What I'm trying to say is you don't need to wear makeup."

"Oh!" She raised her eyebrows and pouted. "Now you say it after I have already started putting it on."

Angelus laughed, shaking his head. "However you want to do your makeup or not do your make up is fine." He dropped another quick kiss to her lips. "I'm just going to finish getting dressed."
