AN: I have been sitting on this idea for a while and it has long term implications, especially for the poor messeger god Hermes. Chaos will definitely ensue and Orario will never be the same again. Just for giggles and to show how conniving Da Vinci can be when she wants to be.

Fate Grand Disorder

Chapter 14 – Denatus

The day after Monsterphilia was a busy day for all of the gods. An emergency Denatus was called to discuss the matters, especially concerning the troubling rampage of the monsters throughout the city. Although no civilians were injured and the damage was minimal, the Denatus was called to see what could be done about it in the future, especially concerning the never before seen plant monsters now dubbed Violas.

This was Hestia's first Denatus now that she had a familia and could contribute somewhat. Previously she had only been in the background and would be bored out of her mind. She had arrived a little early and as instructed by Da Vinci, she placed the round object, on some sort of stand on the table just before her. She didn't know what it was but was only told that it was a 'microphone'. She garnered strange looks from the other gods as they entered and made their way to their own seats.

It was an important emergency Denatus so all the gods, especially the gods of the more powerful familias, were expected in attendance. As the gods arrived, Hestia found the seat beside her taken by Hephaestus who she warmly greeted and the seat on the other side was taken by Miach and Takemikazuchi. She was happy that at least she was surrounded by her friends. What she was not happy about however, was Freya deciding to sit directly behind her or Loki glaring at her from across the room.

A tanned, muscular man with an elephant mask covering his eyes stood at the podium at the front of the room. Both arms raised, he flexed his biceps and posed. "I am Ganesha!"

"Yes, yes. Get on with it!" someone in the room had answered.

"As you know, we have called this emergency meeting due to the events that have transpired yesterday." Ganesha began. "But you must take it from me and my solemn word that I did not release those monsters. Upon investigation, it seems someone had knocked out my guards and set them free." Ganesha, though showy, was an honest god who loved Orario and none of the gods here thought he had anything to do with the monster releases.

"Sabotage." The word was murmured and bandied about by the gods.

"Apart from that, there was the appearance of some never before seen monsters within the city itself. Somehow these monsters made it to the surface." Ganesha informed the divine crowd.

Whispers and discussions broke out amongst the crowd. It was broken by the sound of a sweet feminine voice, one that belonged to a certain goddess of love. "It seems to me like an expedition to the deep dungeons may be in order." A small smile graced her features as she looked over to Loki, "I hear that Loki may know something about this."

Loki cracked her eyes open just a fraction to glare at Freya. Even though she had already begun planning for this expedition she had only done so recently and in secret. To have her plans found out by an outsider was disturbing. She would have to watch out for Freya in the future. "That's right." She drawled. "My familia have been planning a dungeon dive to investigate and it's not a guild order. So if anyone wishes to help, I would be grateful." She glared at Freya. "Especially from those from more powerful familias."

Freya covered her mouth and giggled lightly into it. More whispering could be heard around the room as the gods discussed with one another about helping. Dionysus volunteered to offer help in the way of manpower and so had Hermes and Ganesha. What surprised everyone was that Freya had refrained from offering any sort of support after being the first to suggest a dungeon dive. "My children are busy with projects of their own," Freya dismissed, "I can watch over the city for you in your stead, Ganesha."

No one expected Hestia to offer any support so she never gave it. Even though she had just had a massve influx of members, her children were only level one. Besides, she was getting busy with her various businesses and really couldn't afford the time and effort as she strove to tear away at her debt to Hephaestus.

After the discussions about the Violas and Monsterphilia were done with, the topics changed to other suspicious subjects. "There have also been disturbing reports coming from the countryside regarding strange occurrences and phenomena." Ganesha nodded to a blonde goddess in particular.

A goddess with long, wavy, golden hair stood up and addressed the audience. "Over the past few weeks, many of my cattle have been mysteriously slaughtered. Mutilated and just left on the ground to rot." Her eyes traveled the room hoping that someone would know something about it. "There have also been strange circles being flattened into our crops and strange patterns formed by them. My children have also reported strange lights flying around at night and some of them have even disappeared for days on end before suddenly reappearing with no memory of what had happened in that missing time. Truly disturbing." Her eyes pleaded with the crowd for help. "Many of them are so afraid they have even sold up their lands to move further away from these strange occurrences."

"ABDUCTIONS! FLYING SAUCERS!" Loki slammed her hands on her table as she stood up. "THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BETE AND AIS TOO!"

The gods were surprised at her outburst. Freya in particular raised an eyebrow as she asked, "Do you know something about this Loki?"

Loki nodded. "Bete doesn't remember but Ais does. She said they were abducted by aliens that had come from a distant star, the Groin of Ganesha star to be precise. Said they did all kinda experiments on her and Bete and even tried to wipe her memory." Turning on Ganesha she pointed a finger at him, "Do you know anything about this Ganesha? They came fom your groin!"

"I do not and they did not!" He huffed in reply.

"Were they humans?" someone in the crowd asked.

"Humanoid. Apparently, all green and they had like, two snouts out the side of the heads and one big black eye." Loki turned her attention back to the gathering.

"Hahahaha!" Hestia burst out laughing! "You're girls have really lost it and seems like you have too if you believe that rubbish!"

"Mortals can't lie to gods." Freya calmly interjected. "I'm sure Loki would have noticed if she did."

"Yeah shorty!" Loki glared daggers at Hestia. "It was the truth."

"Maybe she's just crazy and believes her own lies!" Hestia yelled back at Loki. "It would explain why she suddenly tried to RAPE MY POOR BELL! "

"Lies! Lies! All lies! Your Bell must've put some kinda charm spell or sumthin on my poor innocent Ais for her to act so out of sorts!"

"Pffft! I can't help it if he's just so damn cute." Pointing her finger at Loki, "You keep your sex maniac Ais away from my pure virginal Bell!"

"Don't you worry about that! You just keep your pervert Bell away from my innocent Ais!" Remembering the day before and the strange behaviour of one her elf children she thought to add, "and you keep your Archer away from my baby Lefiya as well!"

"Well…" Freya interjected mockingly, "It seems the virginal goddess has gathered quite the collection of playboys and manwhores to her side. My my, I wonder what will ever happen to her maidenhood."

Hestia stood flabbergasted but before she could retort, a strange sound was heard throughout the room. It was the sound of bell chimes and it seemed to come from Hestia herself. Frowning, Hestia reached into her cleavage and brought out a small black, rectangular object which seemed to flip open in half. She looked at it and her frown grew deeper. "Excuse me," she addressed the onlookers as she put the device to her ear. "What do you want?" She seemed to speak into the device. "What… No… Why should I?... What?... Psycho-what?... Really… But she's a bitch!... Fine… Fine… Bye."

Seemingly finished she closed the object and placed it in front of her on the table. Everyone stared at her curiously. "Caster said she thinks Ais must've suffered some sort of trauma and that she could help her if you want. Something about psychotherapy and something. Said whenever you need help just come see her." She growled at Loki.

The gods whispered amongst themselves with Loki finally asking, "Who's Caster and how does she know what we're talking about?"

"She's one of my children and I don't know how she knows."

"What is that thing?" Freya asked curiously as she stared at the object on Hestia's desk.

The object chimed again and angrily Hestia picked it back up and flipped it open again and put it to her ear. "WHAT!" She exclaimed. "I'm kind of busy right now what with a Denatus and all!... You want me to do what?... Are you sure?... Fine then but you got to do it… I'm not interested and I don't have the time… Fine. Bye!... And don't call back unless it's an emergency."

She closed the object again and put it on her table. "What?" She asked the gods all staring at her.

"I would also like to ask again… What is that thing?" Freya cocked her head staring at the item intently.

"It's a gift from children. I think it's called a 'mobile phone'."

"What does it do?" Hephaestus asked her friend. For as long as she's been a goddess of the forge she had never seen anything like it before.

"It lets me talk to my children and send them messages and stuff instantly."

"Instantly!?" The messenger god Hermes slumped back in his seat as the implications hit him. Hopefully, there were limitations to the thing.

"Sure! Instantly." Hestia beamed at her children's accomplishments. "Just as long as I know their phone number."

Again the phone rang and Hestia picked it up and put it to her ear. "What now?... What!?... Right now?... Look we're in the middle of a Denatus and we've got really important things to discuss so advertising right now is… What?... Why?... Telecomm-what networks?... I don't get it… Fine! I'll just put out the word… Okay now don't call back unless someone's dying ok!... Bye."

Looking at the stunned faces staring wide-eyed at her she gulped before she continued. "Caster said that right now there's a special on of three thousand valis for the handset, but something about the network and Bell Communications something, so it costs a monthly fee of two hundred valis, prepaid in advance to use it. She said something about the batteries are good for six months and that…"

Before she could finish she was swarmed by every god and goddess in the room wanting to see the object and asking her how it worked and details in getting their own.

"HELP!" Hestia pleaded to her stunned friend Hephaestus as she was swallowed up by the divine tide. It seemed like Orario was taking its first steps into the telecommunications age.
