So here is one final chapter for an unexpected child with a twist. I tell you guys why I wrote this story and hopefully, I can educate you.
1. Why I wrote this story
I wrote an unexpected child for the sole purpose of tackling teen pregnancy. It is a global issue and I wanted to teach you all that actions have consequences. Even though you use every type of protection when you have sex, there is never any guarantee that pregnancy will not happen unless one of the following happens.
- You or your partner have infertility issues
- If you're a female, you haven't gotten your period yet
- You or your partner have gotten surgery so you cant have kids
Please always remember actions always have consequences. If you steal candy from a store, the police might catch you and you would be arrested. If you cheat on a test, you could fail and/or not pass the class. If you break something, you might have to pay for it.
It's the same thing with sex. If you go through intercourse, the possibility of pregnancy might happen and you might be a mom. There is always the thought of STDs or hurt feelings as well. Plain and simple, if you're not trying to get pregnant, don't have sex. Sure, protection such as condoms and birth control help but it's never 100% effective. There's always a chance. There is also something called the morning after pill that you take the day after you have sex with someone that is supposed to prevent pregnancy. However, there is always a chance.
2. How an unexpected child tackled teen pregnancy
If you read all the chapters thoroughly, you would see both Lloyd and Harumi had to give up things they loved doing.
Harumi loved combat and fighting, but ultimately had to give it up due to the pregnancy. She was also tired all the time and struggled to do everyday things. She also had to leave the Sons of Garmadon, something she loved.
Lloyd had to be at home a lot, especially toward the end of her pregnancy in case the child was born. He also had to do more things around the house to support Harumi. Both characters also had the issues of normal teen life to do as well.
Babies are really expensive. Diapers cost anywhere between 200$ and 500$ a month. You also have to purchase a crib, bottles, clothes, toys, a high chair, and many MANY more things. Since Harumi and Lloyd are famous, that wasn't a problem, but for many teens, it's the biggest one, especially if they do not have a support system. This brings me into my next topic.
3. Homeless pregnant teens
Many many teens around the world are homeless and pregnant because their families kicked them out. 73% of pregnant teens are kicked out worldwide. Many parents will not accept their kids. This is a major issue and something that needs to be dealt with. The teens cannot provide for themselves, let alone a baby.
4. Pregnancy symptoms
Here are 17 signs you might be pregnant:
1. Mood changes
2. Increased urination
3. Headaches
4. Low backache and/in pain
5. Sore breasts
6. Darkened areolas
7. Tiredness
8. Morning sickness
9. Implantation bleeding
10. Missed of late period
11. Discharge
12. Sensitivity to certain smells
13. Dizziness
14. Constipation
15. Food cravings
16. Back pain
17. Shortness of breath
If you are experiencing any of those symptoms, please go get a test. These are just symptoms and not 100% accurate. It would be best to get 2 or 3 tests just to be sure.
5. Additional information
Just so you guys know, there are many ways to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. However, here are the 2 most common ways.
Abortion-
Abortion is when a person is not financially and/or physically able to take care of a baby. Abortion works by injecting a numbing medication into or near your cervix. stretch the opening of your cervix with a series of dilating rods. insert a thin tube through your cervix into your uterus. use a combination of medical tools and a suction device to gently take the pregnancy tissue out of your uterus.
Adoption-
Adoption is an instance where the person has the baby, but signs off papers to give it to a family that can take care of it. This is the most common method among pregnant teens.
6. Why I tackled anorexia and bulimia
Eating disorders are so common among people as young as Harumi. I felt like bring that into the story would make you guys see her as more of a human and not a mindless person without feelings. if you of someone you know is struggling with an eating disorder, please know that there is help out there.
7. Additional information
This is simply a section regarding what is going on in my personal life and why I'm not uploading as frequently as I did before without further Ado here I go.
One:
I am still a middle schooler, so that means that I have school from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every single day from Monday through Thursday. I also have a lot of tests I have to study for cuz I have one in multiple subjects every single week. Friday is an asynchronous day, so I do not have any Zoom classes as I am virtual however, I still have work I have to do for my classes.
Saturday and Sunday are my weekends however I still have relatives that come over. I try to get as much time with them as possible so I can spend time with my family.
Saturday or Sunday nights are usually when I write chapters because I have more time. However, as I said before I have tests every single week that I have to study and prepare for. And with the inauguration soon and the marking. Is over soon I have to focus all of my time and energy on those. I have written a song for inauguration day.
Two:
I play two instruments. I play Bassoon and Ukulele. The Ukulele is simply for fun however the Bassoon is for an actual grade in a class that I take. If I don't do well in that class I could fail. I practice four to five times a week for about 20 minutes and have private lessons every two weeks on Tuesday. I have exercises I need to prepare for both of those. I am also part of the Central Orchestra of my state.
That is why I don't have a lot of time to read chapters as fanfiction is my last priority. don't get me wrong it is not that I have forgotten about you it's that I have more important things to do than write fanfiction stories that I could drop at any time.
Three:
Mental health is so important to take care of, and ask times are tough for everybody right now with the American inauguration of Joe Biden coming soon and the pandemic. It really messed up all of our lives and screwed up all of our Mental Health. that is why on some days I have to take time to myself and forget about fanfiction in school and bassoon and just have some good quality well-deserved me-time. I am also going through a breakup right now so please bear with me.
Four:
I do want to wrap up an unexpected child before I focus on anything else. So return to the never realm fans I have not forgotten about you I'm just wanting to wrap up an unexpected child before anything else. You guys will be next I promise you that.
And also the ghost of her Harumi Carter was meant to be a 1 chapter thing. I did not think that I would extend it to more than one chapter, however, if you want me to write more chapters than one on that one specific story, I will. Just DM or review me, and I will take it into consideration.
Five:
I will be doing a sequel series to an unexpected child. However, I do need names as to what the series will be called. I have already thought of a few suggestions.
One: An unexpected child part 2
Two: Famous Parent life
Three: Born a fighter
Four: Am I a monster?
Five: Our journey in life
Six: other
If you would like to vote on what the name will be, just Dm me or put it in the review section. My DM's are open for a reason. It's for receiving constructive criticism from you guys.
And also for return to the Never-Realm I do need plot ideas. If you have an idea, please DM me.
Thank you all so much for being understanding.
