Sitting on the end of the bed Mike took a deep breath at watching Kate pull her dress off and step in front of him
"Are you sure about this?" she rested her hands on his bare shoulders
"No… but it feels right" he looked up at her, running his hand up her arm he tangled it in her hair
"What if…"
"You're changing your mind?"
"No, absolutely not" she smiled slowly brushing her nose against his
before their lips met in a passionate kiss her hands coming to rest against his cheeks when he arose off the bed
he lifted her into his arms turning them around he lowered her down their lips parting when her head came into contact with his pillow he hovered above her
"What's on your mind?" he brushed the loose hair from her eyes
"I miss you…" she answered a single tear falling down the side of her face
"Kate…" he closed his eyes briefly when her hand brushed across his cheek and rested against the side of his neck
"This is what I want" she assured him when his blue eyes met with her green ones,
shifting himself he met her lips in a slow kiss, with her leg wrapping around his waist Mike lowered himself into her Kate pulling away from the kiss when he sunk in a low moan escaping her lips,
moving in slow movements he began kissing at her neck while she brushed her hand against the back of his neck,
grabbing her free hand in his he interlocked it next to their heads
"Mike…." she moaned as their encounter became more passionate and heated with each thrust
"God…" he groaned through the fiery kiss they were sharing.
Feeling Kate nearing release after half an hour of enjoying their passionate encounter Mike dropped his free hand between them teasing her
"God, Mike no…" she pulled her head away from his with a whimper she bucked her hips causing her whole body to shake as he sent her over the edge;
"I'm going to…" Mike kept moving when she tightened around him he squeezed her hand that was interlocked with his,
thrusting one last time he let out a deep moan releasing inside of her he placed a kiss against her neck
staying in place he moved kisses alone her cheek before hovering his head in front of hers he noticed the raw emotion in her eyes,
kissing her lips in a less passionate kiss he just caught Kate's whisper of
'I love you' when he pulled back and shifted to lay next to her he wrapped his arms around her and nuzzled his head into the crook of her neck
"Wow.." he laughed softly
"Uh-huh…" Kate tried to catch her breath,
finding herself closing her eyes at the feel of his embrace around her they both drifted of to sleep with Mike's mind instantly plagued with dreams.
Standing in a dark room Mike looked around in confusion when a bunch of video's began playing from a projector
his eyes widening when a bunch of images of one woman and the moments they shared flashed through his mind-
Five Years Ago-
'I can't say what you want to hear Kate' he blurted out
'Why not'
'Because I'm not ready'
'But do you feel it?' she shifted to face him
'I don't know how I feel Kate, and I know that's not the answer you were hoping for' he sadly placed a hand on hers that rested on the railing
The Cyanide debacle-
'You know how…'
'Yeah, I've heard you say that enough to fill a book but not the three words I want to hear it's ironic isn't it' she gave him a sad smile
'What?'
'The same that tore us apart five years ago is tearing us apart now except this time there's a boat involved' she turned back around and continued towards the gangway.
Finally saying it-
'Kate!' he called after her
'What is it now?' she huffed turning to face him, looking at her sadly he held his hands above his head
'I LOVE YOU' he yelled loudly
'Mike…' she looked around the dock at the sailors who were watching
'I will yell it from the rooftops, I will yell on this dock in front of everyone but I will not, not deny my true feelings for you not anymore'
The afternoon after-
'You ate the last piece of toast so this…' he kissed her cheek softly 'is going to be slow.. torture for you' he moved towards her neck,
gripping the back of his neck she ran her hand through his hair with each movement he made her legs coming to wrap around his waist pinning him in place
The charity event-
'I should..'
'Yeah, stay safe'
'Enjoy your night Kate'
'Not possible without you' she smiled sadly
'I love you McGregor'
'I love you Sailor' she replied
The letter-
'Hey Sailor, by now I can only guess that either your clumsy self or one of the junior sailors has knocked your photo off the desk so when I saw you buying that frame months ago I figured I'd slip a little note in there when you weren't looking just in case' taking a deep breath he continued reading
'I know things haven't always been easy for us and this long distance it really is a test but I just wanted you to know every night before bed I look up at the stars in some way it brings me a form of comfort knowing no matter where we are we're still looking up at the same night stars, I miss you Sailor until our next adventure forever yours, Kate Xx'
folding the note back over Mike reached forward and picked up the photo of Kate brushing his thumb slightly across her smiling face
The dream now having a face to the woman-
Lying in bed he smiled widely when a hand moved across his chest and behind his neck
'I love you…' she whispered in his ear,
running his own hands along her naked back he groaned when she moved back opening his eyes he looked up at her jumping in surprise when a blank face was staring back at him
'Mike?' her voice asked
'Who…' he stopped when the face of Kate now stared back at him.
"KATE!" he jumped up in bed, looking around in confusion when he noticed the empty spot next to him
"Kate?" he called out moving out of the bed he held the sheet around him when he spotted a note on the dresser near the door;
picking it up he took a deep breath in
'Mike, last night was a new memory like you said but it will never change the fact that you don't remember who I am so I had to leave.. I'm sorry, I'll always love you. Kate x'
"I do remember, I remember everything" he threw the note down rushing into the bathroom for a shower.
Placing her bag down next to her desk just after lunch the next day Kate placed a hand on her abdomen "Looks like it's just us Peanut" she sighed sadly when a knock interrupted her
"Ma'am?"
"Yes?" she turned around quickly removing her hand off her abdomen
"There's someone here to see you?" he moved aside to reveal Mike standing in the doorway
"Thank you" she nodded when he entered
"Hi.." he smiled sadly
"What are you doing here?" she leant against her desk
"You disappeared" he stepped towards her
"I had to get back for work"
"I had some news to share with you" he threw his hat down on the chair
"Oh?" she raised an eyebrow when he grabbed her hand pulling her against him
"I love you Kate Elizabeth McGregor"
"What?" she teared up
"I remember" he gave her a sad smile
"You…"
"I remember, I remember everything including the night…" he rested his hand across her abdomen
"You really remember?" her voice cracked
"I could never forget you, I love you" he pulled a ring out of his shirt pocket
"I told you, as a one day I'll remember you that day is today Kate"
"That's not the promise ring" she looked at the gold band that had a big diamond in it
"No… it's not" he moved back shifting to knell down he grabbed Kate's hand
"Mike…"
"Katherine Elizabeth McGregor, forgetting you was the worst experience of my life I never want to wake up again and not have you by my side" he held up the ring
"I…"
"Will you marry me?"
"Yes.." she struggled through the tears
"What was that?" he teased
"Yes Mike Flynn I will marry you" she nodded when he slipped the ring on her finger arising to stand he met her lips in a passionate kiss,
running his hand through her hair he pulled back from the kiss
"I love you"
"This isn't a dream?" she ran her hand across his cheek
"It's as real as you and I Kate" he leaned in kissing her softly.
