The doctor came in and checked on Jordyn.
"You have deliver the baby now." The doctor said.
"Now, it's way to early." Jordyn said panicked. "I can't deliver her now."
"You have to there's no choice." "A nurse will be in to take you to labor and delivery." The doctor left.
Jordyn looked at Randy with tears in her eyes. "Randy." "The baby."
"Listen, I know you're scared, I'm scared to." "The baby will be fine." He prayed his words would be true.
After she delivered the baby, the baby was taken to the NICU. She weighed two pounds two ounces
Jordyn didn't even get to hold her. Jordyn was very weak. The doctor was talking with Jordyn and Randy.
"The baby will have to remain here for a few months." The doctor said.
"Will she make it?" Jordyn asked weakly.
"There is good news." "Even though she was so premature, her lungs are very strong." "We just have to hope she continues to develop normally."
"I want to see her."
"You have you rest now."
"I want to see my baby." She tried to get up but was to weak.
"Jordyn, lay down." Randy said.
"I need to see my baby."
"You will but for now you need to stay here."
"Ok." She said reluctantly.
"The most important thing you can do right now is rest." The doctor said. "I'll be back later to check on you." The doctor left.
Jordyn looked at Randy.
"Randy this is my fault." She said.
"Why would you think that?"
"I must've done something wrong."
"You didn't do anything wrong Jordyn." "These things just happen sometimes."
"Can you go down and stay with her?" "I don't want her to be alone."
"Ok." He kissed her. "I love you."
"I love you too."
Randy went down and sat with the baby. It broke his heart to see her connected to so many IVs and tubes.
"Hi it's daddy." He said with tears in his eyes. "I know you'll be fine."
A nurse came up to him.
"Excuse me Mr. Orton." She said. "Your baby is still unnamed."
"Katie." "Katie Maria Orton."
The next chapter is the last one.
