Rogue began to crawl towards Remy. When she realised none of her bones were broken, she began to scrabble to her feet, picking herself up, still moving towards Remy, only at a faster pace. He was the only thing on her mind right then. She was about to stand fully and run to him when she felt the weight of the grizzley bear on top of her.
Rogue yelped out as she was forced down into the grass they had crashed on. She tried turning to glance up at the bear. She feared this was the end, but that fear altered into something completely different as she watched the bear change form once again to a blue woman who had her foot pressed on her back.
"Hello Rogue," Mystique said.
Rogue was in shock for a time as this blue woman's yellow eyes glared down into hers. She watched as the woman reached towards her belt and pulled out a needle.
"Now, hold still," this woman told her.
But Rogue refused to go down. She managed to bring her legs up and kick the blue skinned woman off her.
Mystique grunted as she was thrown back and sent flying to the ground.
"No!" she yelled out, as the sedative injection smashed in the grass beside her.
Rogue didn't stop to see what the blue woman would do next. Instead, she continued to run towards Remy, knowing that she had to check on him. Only, she froze in her tracks as she saw a woman, who wasn't their before, bent over him, lifting his face up by the chin. Rogue's breath felt like it escaped her.
"Blindspot!" Rogue heard the blue woman call out from behind her.
At the attention the blue woman drew, the woman with black hair turned her full attention towards Rogue. Her eyes pinning Rogue in place. It didn't take Rogue long to realise she was trapped.
"One wrong move and lover boy here, gets it!" Blindspot said, still keeping a hold of Remy's chin.
The black haired woman's hand seemed to spark with a white hue and Rogue couldn't believe what she was seeing. Couldn't believe what was happening. As Rogue glanced back and forth between Blindspot and the blue woman, she mutter: "This is a nightmare, right? Just a sick, twisted dream!"
That was the only way she could make sense of what was happening.
"Indeed, it is," the blue woman said as she walked towards Rogue. "But don't worry. Soon, it'll be all over and you'll be back to remembering your original life with me."
Rogue edged backwards, slightly more towards Remy and Blindspot as the blue woman gained on her. Rogue glanced this woman up and down, wondering who she was. Was she a part of this family in Bayville she had? No, something about that just didn't sit right with Rogue.
"Who are you?" Rogue questioned.
"We don't want to hurt him Rogue," said Blindspot, completely disregarding Rogue's question. "But if you come here," she said, outstretching her hand to Rogue. "He won't have to get hurt."
Rogue glanced from Blindspot's hand, down towards Remy. She saw that he seemed to be coming too, but looked to be in pain. Pain that she had caused him while he tried to save her. Rogue frowned deeply as she glanced back up to Blindspots hand.
Slowly, she began to move towards her.
"That's it," Blindspot said. "Just a bit closer."
Rogue was near shaking in her boots. She had no idea who these people were or what they wanted with her. She wondered if they worked for Jean-Luc and if they were going to take her back to him. That idea scared her, but not as much as Remy being hurt and she not doing anything to help him. She'd face Jean-Luc, do whatever he wanted, just as long as Remy was safe. The thought was dishearting, but seeing Remy lay there, unconscious and probably hurt was even more distressing.
As Rogue made it half way towards Blindspot and Remy, she felt it harder to lift her legs. Rapid winds shot down upon all four of them from above and only got stronger. The winds made Rogue's hair whip around her face, making it hard to see, but she was aware of the shadow that seemed to come over her, blocking out the sun.
"Mystique," a very rough voice seemed to yell out before a battle cry could be heard.
Rogue glanced up, seeing that there was a jet, hoovering just above her head and getting closer. She saw the man in a black suit with pointly black hair jump from the jet and land just behind her, facing the woman he had called Mystique. Rogue watched him run at her and Mystique take on a defencive position.
Rogue's head spun around to eye Remy once again, caring more about his safety above all else. Blindspot had risen to her feet, dropping Remy's head and the white orb that seemed to be filling her hand before. Rogue was able to witness a red beam shot from the jet above her and hit Blindspot in the chest, sending her flying behind Remy.
Fearing for Remy's life, Rogue took off running towards him. He was beginning to get up on his hands and knees when Rogue skid towards his and wrapped her arms around him, keeping him down. She held him close to her chest as she tried shielding him from the red beams coming from the jet.
"It's ok, chérie," he told her, grabbing a hold of one of the arms that were wrapped around him.
Rogue loosed her grip on him slightly and glanced down so that she could see his eyes. There was a small smile playing on Remy's face which made her feel relieved, seeing as he wasn't hurt. But his smile also confused her.
"They be wit' us," he told her while pointing to the sky.
Rogue just stared at him as if he was out of his mind. She glanced up as the jet began to land in the clearing beside them. A couple of people in similar suits to the man who had ran after Mystique ran out of the jet and towards them.
Rogue felt Remy shift in her arms, but she refused to let him go so easily. It only humoured him that Rogue refused to let go. As the man and woman in black spandex came closer to the pair of them and stood before them, Rogue directed her question to Remy.
"Who are they?" she asked.
"Dis be y' famille, Cherie. An' just in de nick of time too," he humoured.
