A/N:
And last one.
Thank you, really.
Epilogue
Tsuna cringed before laughing when Kyouya kicked the mafioso trying to attack him. His guardians rushed towards him. Takeshi cradled his head and started to soothe the pain. Hayato is on his right and listening to Ryohei who is on his left and giving instructions. His head lulled backward as rain flames tried to relax his tense body from the pain he's feeling.
They were in a meeting when the boss they were talking with clicked a button after insulting them. The place went into dust and Tsuna got separated from his guardians. He almost died with a dog's death because of a stray bullet in his shoulder and a metal rod pierced his left side. He risked his safety to other mafiosi just to make his guardians find him. So he made a flame blast.
Good thing Kyouya came first then the others came. And now, he's in the verge of losing consciousness without even assuring himself that they're danger free-
"Tsuna?" Takeshi called when Tsuna snapped his head towards them in a whiplash manner. "What's the matter?"
"You okay, guys? You're not hurt, are you?" Tsuna asked worriedly.
"Are you going to sleep if we answer yes?" Hayato questioned as he disintegrate the bullet in his shoulder. "Damn. Who the heck fired this bullet? It almost got your heart, Juudaime."
"It did? I thought it was my shoulder. Where's Lambo? Mukuro and Chrome? Is Kyouya alright? He vanished."
"Or your eyes are just blurry." Ryohei added.
Tsuna hummed as he blinked his eyes. "My eyes are blurry, Onii-san."
"That skylark is having a rampage. The pineapples are destroying every single thing with that cow." Hayato informed. "Done."
"Extreme healing!" Ryohei cheered.
"I'm not gonna sign papers after this, am I?"
"No. But you're going to face Reborn's wrath." Takeshi chimed.
"Aw... I don't want that."
"We don't want that." Takeshi agreed. "But if you explain it to him properly, I think he'll understand."
"If he's in a good mood."
"Yes." The three of them answered im unison.
"Did you remove the metal rod?"
"Why'd you ask?" Ryohei queried.
"Nothing."
"He liked how the metal feels inside his body." Takeshi explained.
"Takeshi!"
"Wait till Mukuro learned about this." Ryohei threatened, making Tsuna pale.
"No!"
"You almost died."
The brunet nodded. "Yes."
"Because of that Guillermo."
Tsuna winced and nodded. "Yes."
Reborn stared at him. "Why are you wincing?"
"Because I almost died." Then a pause. "And I think you'll kill me with training. I could've prevented it but I wasn't cautious enough."
"And instead of relaxing in the bed, you're up and about, working with those paper works."
Tsuna stretched to convey a point. "I'm fine. And I rather go through your hell first before I rest today."
Reborn huffed as he watched his student get back to work. The moment he went back from his mission, Tsuna reported every single thing that happened to him. He can still remember how badly he shakes and fidget in nervousness and anxiety, as if the hitman will shoot him right there and then.
It's been four years since Tsuna sat on his throne, ten years still in training, and ten years since he gained his family. Although past is past, Reborn is pretty much surprised of how Tsuna can maintain the way he say things to Reborn. Honest, scared yet determined.
A mafia boss doesn't break promises after all.
Reborn looked at his hand. He realized Tsuna almost died today. He almost lost him again. Sighing, he stood up. Decimo looked at him, his attention was already caught when the hitman sighed. Worry slowly crept its way to his system as he stared at his tutor.
"Reborn? Is there something wrong?"
"Nothing."
Tsuna placed his pen on the side of the paper his working, stood up and followed the man out his office. He knew better than to believe the answer. Being with Reborn for ten years already gave him things about the hitman. The way his body tenses up, or the way his eyes became clouded or just not looking his way. They were signs of worry.
Ryohei halted in his walk when he saw Tsuna following Reborn. He can't help himself from laughing softly before continuing his walk. The small family is at it again.
Hayato was chasing Lambo when they noticed Tsuna tugging Reborn's sleeve and point a direction. Both guardians looked at each other and shrugged. They think it's resting time.
Kyouya opened up an eye and looked at his sky and his guardian from the tree he's perched at. He thinks their role is reversed once again and sighed before sleeping again.
Mukuro and Chrome were conversing when they heard Tsuna talking animatedly as he dragged Reborn somewhere in the hallway. Mukuro 'kufufufu'-ed while Chrome's eyes twinkled in happiness. They really adore their sky's ways to assure people, especially them.
Takeshi simply waved at the two as they passed by his spot. Reborn tipped his hat while Tsuna smiled. He doesn't need an explanation for the scene.
Tsuna patted Reborn's head as he hugged him close. It was always like this. When one of them experience a life-and-death situation, both assures the other that they're alive. He even does this to his guardians when they're not there with him in some meeting or missions. But most of the time, it was Reborn.
A parent will always be a parent, after all. They can't help themselves from worrying for their child's safety. It takes all trust and faith in the universe just to let them be and go out of the world to be independent. But Tsuna has been always the independent one. And sometimes he thinks that a child should protect the ones who nurtured him too as a motion of love. Although Reborn doesn't want him to know, he knew the hitman was thinking that he almost died again. So it's his job to assure him that he's alive and kicking, beside him and breathing.
"Tsuna."
"Yes?"
"Isn't this too much?"
"I'm sleeping."
"How about your guardians?"
"They'll join us later on."
Reborn huffed. "Fine."
Fin.
