It has been a few days since the whole ghost incident and now Naruto and Inuyasha and Shippo were gonna go on the road again and go back on their mission to find more jewel shards. Naruto was currently in one of the stores that allowed him to shop in without glaring or overcharging him and etc as he was getting some supplies for his trip when while doing so he runs into Hojo again.
"Oh hello Naruto, how are you?" Hojo asked him warmly and kindly making Naruto smile at him. "I'm doing fine I'm just getting ready for a trip is all." Naruto says to him with a smile on his face. "Oh another mission is it? You know you've been going on a lot of them lately I hope you don't neglect your health." Hojo says to him making Naruto chuckle a bit as Hojo handed him some medical stuff for the first aid kit. "Thank you Hojo." Naruto says to him feeling grateful since now he had all that he needed.
"No problem Naruto, oh by the way I was wondering if you're not doing anything this Saturday do you want to maybe go see the new Princess Gale movie together?" He asked him making Naruto frown he knew he was asking him out on a date but he already had a boyfriend and that was Inuyasha. "I'm sorry Hojo to be honest I actually already have a boyfriend but I wouldn't mind going to the movie with you as friends though." Naruto tells him smiling at him making Hojo smile at that too.
"Sure I don't mind so how about this Saturday you free?" Hojo asked him as Naruto grin. "Sure at least I should be if not I'll let you know if something comes up." Naruto tells him making Hojo grin and nod his head and leaves the store as Naruto began to think to himself. "Hmm will I be able to get back in time for the movie this Saturday?" Naruto asked himself as he pays for everything and heads out and back to the shrine when he gets there he changes back to his usual clothes which was his Orange jumpsuit and his ninja headband and his blue ninja sandals and goes to meet up with Inuyasha where the well is carrying his back pack.
"Hey Inuyasha what do you think the chances are of getting back by Saturday?" Naruto asked him curiously as Inuyasha was standing on top of the well. "Uh fair to moderate if we're lucky." Inuyasha says to him and grabs him by his back pack making Naruto grin at that. "Oh that's great dattebayo." Naruto says to him as Inuyasha then gains a thinking look as he scratches his head a bit with one of his clawed fingers. "When exactly was this Saturday of yours again?" Inuyasha asked him making Naruto sweat drop.
"Of course I should of known." Naruto thinks to himself making Kurama burst out laughing but Naruto simply chooses to ignore the Fox as Inuyasha drops him down the well and Naruto goes back to the past. Once they arrived there they made a little raft so they can ride on the river to get to their next destination on the way there though Naruto noticed Shippo looking a little sick. "Hey you okay Shippo? Feeling a little sick?" Naruto asked him as he was eating an apple.
"I don't feel so good." Shippo says making Naruto frown a bit. "He's probably got sea sickness which is kinda ironic since we're not at the sea." Naruto says to his boyfriend while taking another bite out of his apple after he did he noticed something off with Inuyasha whom was sitting in front of him with his legs crossed and his arms a crossed his chest as he looked kinda anxious. "Hey you okay? You've been kinda antsy?" Naruto asked him curiously as Ryoko pops her head out his bag and meows as Inuyasha ignores that question. "Would you mind focusing a little? We're not here to look at the scenery." Inuyasha tells him being kinda snappy towards him making Naruto gained a sad look making Inuyasha feel guilty.
"But yeah I'm fine I just...have something on my mind is all." Inuyasha tells him making Naruto nod his head in understanding as he smiles a bit feel better. Inuyasha then looks at Shippo and rolls his eyes a bit. "Shippo you call yourself a demon? You're not supposed to get seasick." Inuyasha tells him while Naruto rubs the small demon fox's back to help him a bit. "I'm not trying." Shippo says to him sounding sick so Naruto takes out a bottle of water and hands it to him.
Inuyasha sighs with annoyance at this feeling kinda stressed out since he knew what was going to happen tonight. "This is pathetic. We're not going to find any shards, unless you two snap to it." Inuyasha tells them as Naruto frowns a bit when he noticed what was up ahead. "Inuyasha." Naruto says getting his attention. "What?" He asked him and Naruto points up ahead. "Those are spider webs." Naruto tells him as he looks and sees lots of spider webs up ahead. "Strange why is there so many?" Naruto asked out loud looking at them.
Inuyasha used his claws to slash through them making Naruto frown he had a feeling if there was this much of this webs then that would mean that there is a spider demon nearby possibly. "Master Inuyasha what manner of webs are they?" Myoga asked him as he just suddenly appears on Inuyasha's shoulder.
Inuyasha frowns and looks away a bit hoping it's not what he thinks it is especially since what will be happening tonight. Suddenly they hear shouting and Naruto sees a girl falling down so Inuyasha rushes over to save her but when she saw he was a demon and then after that she tried climbing up the vines to escape him but she falls back down making Naruto sigh a bit.
"I'll go get my first aid kit." He says and puts his hands in his pockets and goes over to his bag and pulls out his first aid kit and goes over the girl and takes out some spray and sprays it on her injury a bit. While he was doing this the girl was telling him that she was chased after a evil demon known as a spider head and that they had been attacking her village for years killing and eating all people nearby and in it's path once she was done telling them that Naruto frowns at this.
"Inuyasha we should help her get back." He says to him making him feel annoyed at that. He didn't want to do any charity work but then when he looked at Naruto whom gave him the puppy dog eyes he gives in and blushes. "Fine, I'll do it for you." He says to him making Naruto grin at this as they walked off towards where the girl lives as Naruto frowns a bit he was carrying his bow and arrows still and was getting better at shooting them but he still couldn't do a scarred arrow like his past life Kikyo could yet but that didn't really bother him or worry him at all since his mind was only on Inuyasha.
He knew Inuyasha was kind of reluctant to do this which made him wonder why since he knew that he usually would check things out but today he seemed more restless than usual. When they arrived the sun was almost down as they see a monk walk outside the temple. "You have returned are you injured Nazuna." The monk asked her with concern as Nazuna goes over to her master and she greeted him and etc then after that the monk welcomed them to stay the night and lets them inside while Naruto and Inuyasha look at each other while Shippo and Ryoko were riding on his shoulders.
They didn't know why but something felt off about the monk. Later on they were inside and eating dinner when Naruto sees how Inuyasha is acting while Ryoko was happily eating out of her cat dish which Naruto brought back from the future which was one of Buyo's extra food dishes. Naruto finally had enough and puts down his chopsticks. "Okay what's going on? You've been so antsy ever since we left Kaede's village." Naruto says to Inuyasha wanting to know what was wrong with his boyfriend.
"It's nothing." He says but Naruto knew he was lying but he also knew Inuyasha long enough to know that when he wanted to hide something he was determined to keep it hidden from them so Naruto knew that asking him would be pointless since Inuyasha wasn't going to tell him at all.
Inuyasha then goes outside to get some fresh air when suddenly they were attacked by a swarm of spider heads. When Naruto sees this he takes out his bow and arrows and begins to shoot his arrows at the demons while Inuyasha fought them as well but Naruto could see he was having trouble as some spiders covered him up with it's webs. "Inuyasha!" Naruto yells out and shoots the demons with his arrows to stop them from hurting him.
"Ryoko!" Naruto yells out as Ryoko turns into her other form and roars and attacks the demons protecting Naruto and Inuyasha and Shippo while Naruto helps Inuyasha and gets him to safety once they were somewhere safe Naruto placed Inuyasha on the ground under a tree as they were a bit away from the shrine. "Inuyasha you okay?" Naruto asked him getting a sigh from his half demon boyfriend whom removes the web from his head. "It's a good thing that you've gotten better at those arrows since I won't be able to keep you safe tonight." Inuyasha says to them as Naruto blushes a bright red when he saw that Inuyasha was now human. He had long black hair now instead and his claws and fangs were gone along with his dog ears and his eyes were a golden color were now brown.
"Inuyasha? You're...human but how?" Naruto asked him as Myoga appears and explains to Naruto and Shippo and Ryoko that half demons like Inuyasha lose demonic their powers once a month and become human and that Inuyasha loses his own powers on the night of the new moon. Once Naruto heard that his eyes widen. "So that's why you've been so restless today." Naruto says to Inuyasha getting a nod and a frustrated sigh. "Oh master Inuyasha? Why did you not inform us that your period of vulnerability was impending?" Myoga asked him making Inuyasha shoot him a dead pan look.
"Because if I had you would have taken off a long time ago." Inuyasha tells him making Myoga sweat drop knowing he does have a good point. Naruto frowns at this. "Okay so I guess all we have to do is try to get through the night until the sun comes up and not get eaten by demons sounds simple enough." Naruto thinks to himself when he then heard rustling in the bushes making him grab his arrows and aims it at the bush when Nazuna comes out and starts begging for help saying her master was in danger.
After hearing that Naruto was about to head back in the shrine when Inuyasha stops him. "And where do you think you're going?" Inuyasha asked him making Naruto look at him. "I'm going inside to help." Naruto says to him making Inuyasha shake his head no and Naruto then pales when he remembered something. "Oh no! I left my bag with the jewel shards inside!" Naruto yells out making Inuyasha's eyes widen at that he then handed Naruto the sheath of his blade. "Keep this it'll keep you safe." Inuyasha says and then he runs inside leaving Naruto alone with Nazuna and Ryoko as Shippo goes inside with Inuyasha.
When they entered inside they see the priest whom was actually a demon spider head going through Naruto's things as he pulls out a small glass container filled with some jewel shards in it. He goes to grab it when Shippo sends some of his foxfire at him hitting him in the face making him pull away. "So you were planning this from the start." Inuyasha says to the priest glaring at him making him turn to Inuyasha and smirk. "I could barely contain myself when I saw you, the half demon that is rumored to posses jewel shards and is traveling with that young priest, yes he looks delicious he would make a fine meal." The priest says making Inuyasha growl and glare at him.
"I won't let you put a single dirty hand on him! If you even pluck a single hair from his head I'll kill you!" Inuyasha yells at him as he growls just like any other dog demon even though he was only half he was very possessive and protective of his mate. The spider demon laughs and attacks Inuyasha as he tangled him up in his web and bites down on his neck poisoning him when suddenly he was shot with an arrow making the demon scream in pain. "Na..ruto." Inuyasha says knowing who it was already. Naruto glares at the demon hatefully. "You leave him alone now!" Naruto yells at him as he continues to shoot arrows at him making the spider demon hiss at Naruto and run away but not before scooping himself up some of the shards and swallowing it as Naruto runs towards Inuyasha tears coming down his face.
"Inuyasha!" Naruto yells out he just couldn't lose him he didn't want to lose him. Inuyasha...he was the one person whom was the only person in the world he made him feel this way he loves him so much he didn't want to lose him. Naruto cuts Inuyasha down as more spider demons appears making Naruto growl and he takes out a few smoke bombs from his pocket and throws them on the ground creating a smoke screen once it clears Naruto was gone along with his friends.
When they got to an empty room inside the shrine Naruto used the tessaiga to help keep the door barricade as Inuyasha was sweating and breaking out into a fever because of the poison. "Inuyasha, it's gonna be okay don't worry please...please don't die." Naruto says to him while crying as the tears falls on the floor. He knew Inuyasha wouldn't be able to heal so easily because of his demonic powers were still gone so Myoga drinks his blood to get rid of the poison after that everyone went to sleep.
Naruto had Inuyasha's head on his lap while he puts a wet rag over his forehead to cool down his fever. "Naruto why were you crying earlier? He asked the blond haired ninja making Naruto frown. "Because I was scared of losing you, Inuyasha I love you, you're not like any other person I had ever met in the world." Naruto says to him as tears comes down his face. "I'm so sorry if only I could use spiritual arrows like Kikyo can then maybe..then maybe I can be more useful I always trained so hard always and yet...I feel so weak and worthless I can barely even protect you." Naruto cries out as he then felt his tears being gently wiped away.
As he looks and sees it's Inuyasha whom wiped them away. Naruto holds onto Inuyasha's hand in his and he leans down and kisses him on the lips while Inuyasha kissed him back. They then pull away and Naruto smiles a warm smile at him. "Please get some rest, you're still not feeling 100% because of the poison so you'll need all your strength don't worry I promise I will protect you it's my turn to keep you safe." Naruto says to him gently making Inuyasha smile a weak smile at him and then falls back asleep. "I promise I'll keep you safe Inuyasha I won't let anyone ever hurt you again. I promise." Naruto thinks to himself silently promising himself.
They stayed in the room for a long while as Naruto peeks throughout the window and could see that the sunlight was coming through making him smile knowing that soon Inuyasha will be back to his full strength. Suddenly the place was destroyed and Naruto stands up and carries Inuyasha outside with him to the shrine as he sees the spider head demon attacking them. "No get away from him! I won't ever let you hurt him again!" Naruto yells out and grabs another arrow and shoots it at the demon only this time the arrow had a pinkish glow around it shocking Naruto as it pierced the spider demon making it screech out in pain and then he purified and turns to dust.
"Was that...a sacred arrow?" Naruto says sounding shock and overjoyed that he was finally able to shoot a sacred arrow. Inuyasha then gets up feeling better as the sun comes up and he turns back into his usual self again. Once Naruto sees Inuyasha was awake and alright he runs to him and hugs him and cries in his chest. Inuyasha smiles and hugs him back. "See Naru you're not weak after all." He says to him making Naruto sniffle and wipe his tears away smiling and nodding his head. A few hours later they were back on the raft heading out as they waved goodbye to Nazuna well at least Naruto was along with Shippo as Ryoko was on Naruto's shoulders.
Naruto giggles and pets her as he looks at his bow and smiles knowing that now he was only gonna get even more stronger now and that he will now have the power to help protect all of his friends including Inuyasha.
