A lot happened in the next week before the next report. My room, which was situated near the King's, was decorated. Girly, elegant, princess-style. Mom came back, and decided to give her and dad a try again.
Now it's time for my interview on the report. I'm ready to finally admit what I am, and to be able to call my dad, "daddy" in public. I wore a short lavender dress that has short sleeves. The bodice was lace, with a scoop neck, and a simple ribbon belt with lace floral designs on the front. I added matching heels and a pearl bracelet.
After the normal announcements, I was welcomed onto the stage. I took a seat on the couch across from Gavril Fadaye. He grinned at me.
"Hello, Renesmee."
"Hello, Gavril."
"How are you?"
"Really good."
He laughed. "I bet! Last friday was a big day for you….and the world."
"Yes. But it's nice. I love my new role. Although my dad won't let me do any training yet."
"You consider our King your father ready?"
"Why would I need to consider him? He is."
"What do you mean?"
I took a deep breath. "18 years ago, my mother, Bella Swan, fell in love with a Vampire. That Vampire's name was Edward Cullen, our king. Eventually I was…..conceived. I'm a hybrid—half-human, half-vampire."
The crowd grew shocked and gasped. Mom bit her lip, looking concerned. Dad looked surprised, but it was quite welcoming.
"That's why I signed up. I believe that ruling is my god-given birthright." I turned to my dad. "See why you're so protective of me? Why you couldn't send me home?"
He simply smiled and nodded.
"I've never heard of such a thing."
I shrugged. "Most Vampires don't have enough self-control to be intimate with humans without killing them. And even then, most women don't survive the birth. Luckily, my godmother changed my mother in time. Also, sometimes the mother isn't even strong enough to carry the baby to term." I shrugged.
"This is a lot to take in."
I laughed. "Of course it is."
"What does your room look like, princess?"
"I love hearing that! Definitely girly and elegant." I grinned.
"Of course. Well, that's all we have for tonight."
"And before you go, try not to conceive a baby with a human! We don't want a million half-vampire children around."
He laughed, and the report ended.
I smiled at my dad.
I hope this can bring us even closer.
