A/N: And this is where Amy relays her discovery, in a way, about Pierre Van Helsing.

Alvin and the Chipmunks Meet the Wolfman

Chapter 12: An Attempted Antidote

Later, Alvin was looking at the almanac of the moon with Simon near the microscope and blood samples and Amy on the computer.

"So, all you actually have to do is bite the werewolf that bit you on the night of the full moon?", Simon asked.

"Well, yeah, but it's not going to be easy. And not just because of how wild Theodore can be either. There's actually another reason.", Amy responded before then typing in the necessary request for the information.

"Well, you don't have to hit so hard.", the computer spoke before going to a page of info regarding Pierre Van Helsing.

"Pierre Van Helsing?", Simon asked.

"Yeah. He's the guy that was hunting me and Theodore those past few nights.", Amy responded.

"How come you never told us that earlier?", Simon asked.

"I didn't know for sure it was him then. But now, I do.", Amy responded.

"Stages of the moon... Stages of the moon... Here we are. Oh, no! Simon, Amy, the next full moon is tomorrow! The same night as the school play!", Alvin reported.

"What?!", Amy exclaimed.

"That's right. Our little brother's probably going to turn into a growling, drooling, flesh-eating monster!", Alvin responded.

"And if that hunter shows up on that night, things'll really get rough. And that is why I am trying to study this blood sample of Theodore's.", Simon spoke.

"His blood sample? Where'd you get it?", Amy asked.

"From the bandage he was wearing when that dog bit him. There's something weird about his blood. I'd like to compare it to a normal sample. Here. Mr. Talbot's.", Simon spoke as he searched through various blood samples and picked up the one he needed.

"Let me see. Let me see.", Alvin spoke a bit excitedly, inadvertently shaking the sample off Simon's hands.

"Alvin, no!", Amy spoke before Talbot's blood sample landed on Theodore's.

"Wonderful, Alvin. Now, you've contaminated the samples.", Simon spoke.

"Well, excuse me for living.", Alvin responded before turning out to the window.

"That's odd.", Simon spoke.

"What is it?", Amy puzzled.

"Theodore's blood... I-It seemed to...", Simon began as he saw Theodore's red blood cells seemingly getting absorbed by purple cells.

"Hey, Simon, I've got it! Look!", Alvin shouted before moving Simon away from the blood samples and then toward the window.

"But, Alvin, I'm right in...", Simon began.

"See? Mr. Talbot. If only we could get his cane.", Alvin spoke.

"Oh, please, Alvin. He never puts it down.", Simon spoke before Talbot, carrying his groceries, put the cane down and got out his keys so as to unlock the door.

"Aha! Who's the dumb brother now?", Alvin spoke before getting out of the bedroom as Simon put his fingers on his chin in puzzlement.

Meanwhile, Dave was outside planting flowers as Theodore played around and dug like a puppy while Alvin snuck out to Talbot's front porch and then grabbed the cane quickly. Back at the house, Theodore was looking around the garden like a puppy with Alvin right behind him before he raised the cane, about to hit him, although hesitating to do so.

"I can't do it. But...it is for his own good.", Alvin spoke before raising the cane again and hesitating just the same.

"No. I can't...", Alvin spoke as he walked away before tripping into one of the holes, inadvertently letting go of the cane, which then landed on top of Theodore's head.

"Hey! What'd you do that for?", Theodore asked.

"Theodore, please, don't! Don't, Theodore!", Alvin urged only for Theodore to break the cane in half with his knee and then give it back to Alvin, who then noticed that Talbot noticed that his cane was missing.

"Now, where is my cane?", Talbot asked before heading back inside? Worrying Alvin to the point that he hurried back with the cane, only to bump into Dave, causing the broken cane to fall in front of Dave after he fell forwards.

"Alvin!", Dave growled before a soul with the flower on top landed on his head.

"Yes, Dave?", Alvin asked nervously before later, he was asked to do something.

"Apologize to Mr. Talbot?!", Alvin exclaimed.

"And offer to pay for the cane. Although, I still don't understand why you were using his cane to defend yourself from...what was it?", Dave added.

"A, um, giant gopher.", Alvin responded.

"And you're sure that's the story you want to go with?", Dave asked.

"W-Why? Do you have a better one?", Alvin asked.

"Well, I always prefer the truth.", Dave responded as he sat down next to Alvin.

"I can't go to Mr. Talbot's, Dave. Tonight's the school play. Yeah, that's right. And I've got the most important part.", Alvin responded.

"Oh, right. That's probably why they call it Dr. Jekyll and his butler.", Simon spoke with Theodore laughing.

"Okay. You want the truth?", Alvin asked.

"Oh, I don't know if I can handle the truth.", Dave responded.

"Mr. Talbot gives me the creeps! What if he ripped off his head and there was an alien underneath? Or he smiled and had these big vampire teeth?! Or...", Alvin began as Dave groaned.

"Alvin, please, please, enough. Now, since you told me the truth, you go on ahead. I'll apologize for you. And I'll get to the play just as soon as I can.", Dave responded.

"Any chance I can come with you there, Uncle Dave?", Amy asked.

"Well, sure. But you do realize we aren't going to be here long, right?", Dave asked.

"Yeah.", Amy responded, puzzling Alvin before she then turned to Alvin and winked at him, letting him know that she has a plan.

"Oh, thank you, Dave. You're a life-saver.", Alvin spoke as he then ran out before Dave picked up the broken cane.

"What an imagination.", Dave spoke.

"Yeah. Who knows what's going on there, these days?", Amy agreed.

Later, she and Dave were out at the front porch of Talbot's house before the latter knocked on the door with Talbot then opening the door.

"Yes? Oh. Mr. Seville. And Amy. I, uh, I was just going out.", Talbot spoke.

"Mr. Talbot, I'm afraid I've got some bad news. It seems that Alvin was, well...", Dave responded before presenting the two broken pieces of his cane.

"He accidentally broke it trying to get rid of a little...gopher problem.", Amy responded with a whisper for the last 2 words.

"Perhaps you two should come in.", Talbot spoke before Dave and Amy went inside just as the full moon started to rise with Talbot not only noticing the moon starting to be visible, but also Pierre nearby.

"But make it fast.", Talbot spoke before following them.

"If you think you can keep your hairy secret, my werewolf..., you have no clue how wrong you are. Dead wrong, that is.", Pierre spoke before laughing.

A/N: Uh-oh. Looks like Pierre is closing in.
