Round 3: Satoshi and Ritchie vs. Misty and Tracey

-The Next Day-

It was almost time for the battle. Ritchie and Ash were sitting in the locker rooms. Ash had his three pokeballs strapped to his belt.

"Will Satoshi and Ritchie please enter the stadium," The announcer spoke over the intercom.

"Are you ready for this?" Ritchie asked.

"Let's kick some ass," Ash replied as the two trainers fist bumped.

Ash and Ritchie walked down the long hallway into a large stadium. As Ash and Ritchie walked out, the crowd cheered as both trainers came out and did a pose each holding one pokeball into the air and flexing their muscles.

"Go get 'em Satoshi," May called from the stand.

"Go Papa," Manaphy called, sitting on May's lap. Now that Ash had begun dating Manaphy's mother, it had taken to calling the trainer its 'Papa.'

"And on the blue side we have Tracey and Misty," the announcer called. "This battle will take place on the water field."

Misty and Tracey stood on the other side of the stadium, receiving a fair amount of cheers.

"This will be a 2 on 2 battle, where each trainer uses one Pokemon. After three of a trainer's Pokemon faint that trainer is eliminated. Let the battle begin!" The announcer called.

"Go Venomoth," Tracey called.

"Go Cruise," Ritchie yelled, throwing out his Tyranitar.

"Go Seaking," Misty yelled.

"Gliscor, may the Aura guide you!" Ash yelled.

All the Pokemon did a battle stance. Venomoth flew over the water. Seaking had its head sticking out of the water shooting Water Guns. Cruise stood on one of the sandy islands on the terrain and caused a sandstorm, and Gliscor glided into one of the palm trees, the field became obscured to the opposing team, while Ash and Ritchie could see just fine.

"Gliscor use Fire Fang on Venomoth," Ash commanded.

"Venomoth," Tracey yelled. "Use Poison Sting."

"Cruise," Ritchie said. "Use Protect."

Gliscor's mouth lit on fire and flew straight at Venomoth. Venomoth then shot many purple spikes at Gliscor. Just as the spikes were about to hit Gliscor, Cruise formed a large yellow shield around it and Gliscor, knocking the spike away. Gliscor then proceeded forward and bit into Venomoth's abdomen, sending it up in flames. After being bitten, Venomoth fell into the water and floated on the surface.

"Venomoth is unable to battle," The ref said. "Tracey, choose your next Pokemon."

"Azumarill, beat them both," Tracey said.

"Gliscor return," Ash said. "Absol come on out! Use Night Slash on Seaking." The Disaster Pokemon took the field, and made dark energy manifest around its single horn.

"Use Water Gun to block the attack," Tracey called.

"Cruise," Ritchie called. "Use Hyper Beam first."

Absol flipped into the air and shot a black slash out of its scythe on the side of its head. Just as Tracey's Azumarill was about to shoot the Water Gun, the Tyranitar shot a large orange beam straight at Azumarill that hit the Pokemon directly. Then the night slash hit Seaking directly.

"Azumarill is unable to battle," the ref called. "And Seaking is unable to battle. Misty, choose your second Pokemon and Tracey pick your final Pokemon." Ash and Ritchie grinned and high fived each other.

"Tracey, you better not fail me," Misty growled.

"You know," Tracey growled back. "You could be doing something too! Go Scizor!"

A beefy Scizor came out of its pokeball and stood still gazing at Ash. He recognized that trainer from 11 years ago.

"Scizor, use Fury Cutter on Tyranitar."

The Pokemon flew across so fast that Ritchie couldn't even react to the command. Scizor hit Cruise so hard that the large Pokemon flew back and cracked the tree behind it. Scizor then followed through and slashed Tyranitar several times until it fainted. The sandstorm subsided.

"Cruise is unable to battle," The ref called.

"Let's go Corsola," Misty called. The pink Coral Pokemon jumped out of the ball and floated on the surface of the water.

"Absol use Dark Pulse!" 'Satoshi' exclaimed.

Absol formed a black orb in its mouth and then shot a cluster of dark rings at Corsola. Corsola was hit in the face and turned belly up in the water.

"Corsola is unable to battle," The ref said. "Misty, choose your final Pokemon." This quick elimination made several members of the audience chuckle.

"Corsola, what the hell! I wanted to save this for a certain trainer if he was here," Misty said, clutching her last pokeball. "But it seems as if I have no choice. Go Pidgeot!"

Misty threw the pokeball and sent out a large bird Pokemon. It wasn't just any Pidgeot though, it was Ash's Pidgeot. When the bird Pokemon took the field, however, Ash read its Aura and sensed emotions of rage, mixed with trauma. He immediately knew something was not right with his former Pokemon.

Ash remembered his time he spent in the Orange Islands and the Kanto region trying to find Lapras and Pidgeot. That was why Ash had never managed to find Pidgeot; because Misty had beaten him to it.

"Hold on a sec- that Pokemon doesn't belong to you! Pidgeot," Ash called out. Pausing for a moment, he considered whether or not he should reveal himself in this moment.

"Hey-uh-Satoshi?" Ritchie whispered to his partner. "What are you doing?"

Looking back at his former Pokemon, Ash knew what had to be done. "It's me...Ash! Ash Ketchum."

When Ash's voice rang out across the stadium, a deafening silence fell upon the audience.
