CHAPTER 13: THEIR BOND.
(POV: Thomas)
As I laid upon the floor of the throne room, I began to wonder whether I was in a void of blackness that was to be my afterlife, or that I was sent down to it as punishment for failing those that I loved. As I began to then wonder these things, I suddenly heard a voice that was more dear to me than any other as a light began to shine through my vision.
"Thomas!" It cried. "Come on. Please. Wake up Thomas!"
When I opened my eyes, I found Lady kneeling next to me with tears in her eyes. As I then sat up, I couldn't help but feel that I was having a bit of Deja vu.
"Man." I groaned as I tried to catch my breath. "this certainty feels familiar."
"I know." Sobbed Lady as she then sighed with relief.
"How long was I out for?" I asked as I felt my forehead.
"Just for a few minutes. You reckless fool." Lady answered me as she then embraced me tightly.
As I felt her hug me, I could tell that Lady indeed felt scared and worried. Ever since the first day we met, Lady had cared for me greatly as I did for her.
"Hey." I smiled slightly. "Don't hug me too hard okay? you might squeeze me to death."
"Oh." Said Lady with a sorrowful look. "Sorry."
"Nah." I replied kindly. "It's fine. I'm just glad it's all over."
"Me too." Sobbed Lady. "I know that I got frightened when you blacked out, but, right now, I'm so proud of you. You defeated a tyrant king who's been around for centuries."
"Hey." I reminded her. "It wasn't just me, but you as well remember? You helped me keep going until I won the fight."
"Yeah." Smiled Lady. "I did, didn't I?"
"You sure did." I replied.
As I felt Lady's arms wrapped around me, I couldn't help but smile as my heart beated. I did indeed love the magicborn and the warmth she had. As I then placed my hands on Lady's lower back, Timothy's words from a while back came back to my mind.
"No matter who we are," I thought. "We're all humans in the end, and the feeling of love should never be denied. Timothy told me that at the Tidmouth beach lighthouse right after we retrieved Malstorm."
As I remembered these words from Timothy, I felt my love for Lady a lot stronger than before.
"Maybe.." I continued to think. "Now's the time."
As I then dug deep within my heart, I began to bring out the words to tell her how I felt.
"Lady." I began with an unsure look.
"Yeah Thomas?" Answered the Magicborn. "What is it?"
"Um uh... I-I L... " I got ready to say it, until I suddenly felt like I wasn't really ready. "Um, never mind. It's probably not important or relevant." I then exhaled as I then noticed that her massive wound was gone. "Anyway, did you heal yourself? because that was a massive wound you had."
"Oh!" She exclaimed. "That! Well, remember when I was in that healing coma?"
"Yeah." I replied as I thought back to the days when I first met her. "You have to use up a lot of mana to even stay alive."
"Well.." She began. "After I fainted, my body was speeding up the normal process by months by placing me within a lesser version of the state. And well by the time I woke up, my wound was healed just enough to where I could move."
"I see." I replied as I kind of figured that was the point that she was trying to make.
I had got to know Lady pretty darn well during the past years, and basically can immediately guess a point she was trying to make, just with a subject.
"Anyway.." She then said. "We better meet up with the others."
"Agreed." I replied as I then sheathed my sword, and lifted Billster up as I left the room.
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
As Thomas walked Billster out of the room, Lady looked over towards Caliburn and picked it up before sheathing it, to ensure that it would never again end up in the wrong hands. After everyone left the castle and healed up for a bit, Jackland decided to throw a small celebration on Tidmouth beach to give everyone a chance to rest their weary minds. As Timothy was watching everyone else, he noticed Proteus looking towards the Lighthouse.
"Hey your highness." He greeted. "What are you looking at?"
Proteus gave a small smile as he pointed towards the lighthouse's balcony.
"Take a look over there, Timothy, and you'll see."
Timothy turned his head towards where the prince was gesturing at, and the sight he'd saw made him smile. On the balcony, standing very close to one another, eyeing towards the sunset, was none other than Thomas and Lady. The teens had grins on their faces, as if they really enjoyed one another's company.
"They really have become close, haven't they?"
"Indeed." The prince said in reply. "And after today, I believe that they're much closer than ever before. So much so, That I do believe that sometime, someday, our siblings will accept and admit their long encased feelings for one another."
As the cool breeze blew, the likelihood of Thomas and Lady admitting their feelings at some point in the near future seemed very high. However, they would have to go through yet another obstacle first. But that story is for another day.
THE END.
