Chapter 17
The next morning Ben was up earlier than his sons. He got dressed and went to Hoss and Joe's room to get them up,
"Hoss, Joseph!"
"Ya pa?"
"Are you getting up or sleeping all day?'
"Be right there Pa."

Ben decided not to disturb Adam and Ann. He knew they would be up eventually so he went on down to the coffee shop in the hotel to wait for his sons.

In Adam and Ann's room, Ann was trying to wake up Adam by kissing his chest and blowing on his chest hair.
"Would you like something sweetheart?" that scared Ann
"Adam! You scared me."
"Ha, ha, so what do you want?'
"For you too wake up."
"Is that all?"
"Adam Cartwright, since when do I have to beg you for it?"
"All you had to do was ask sweetheart. Come here." Adam made love to Ann for over an hour and then they got up and dressed and went down to the coffee shop for breakfast.

"Well there you two are. How are you this morning Ann?"
"I'm fine."
"Good too hear. You should have some breakfast. We have a long day ahead of us."
"Yes alright. I guess I'll have some fruit and tea, maybe some toast."
"Are you sure that's all sweetheart? It's a long time before lunch."
"Yes Adam I'm sure."
"All right."
"Adam what's the next town?"
"I believe it's Mill City Joe."
"Very big is it?"
"Nope, not very. Just enough too water our horses and get a cup of coffee."
"Wonderful."

By dusk the Cartwright family was in Love lock. Because Ann was feeling ill again they decided to stay over.
"I'll get some rooms. Why don't you four go ahead into the cafe."
"All right pa, thank you."

"Ann, are you having any thing?'
"Not right now Adam. Maybe just some weak tea."
"All right, let me know if you want something later."
"I will Adam."
"OK, got the rooms. So, has everyone ordered yet?'
"Waiting for you Pa."
"Well I'm here and mighty hungry."
Meals and drinks were ordered and eaten and everyone went back to their rooms for a bath and a good nights sleep.

After two more days the Cartwrights arrived at the Ponderosa. Hop sing was there with a welcoming smile and a big meal prepared for the new member of the family.
"Good see family. Welcome Missy Cartlight."
"Ah well, thank you. Adam!"
"Oh I'm sorry. Ann this is Hop Sing, our cook and family friend for a long time."
"Hello Hop Sing. Nice too meet you."
"You too. Number one son finally make father vely happy."
"Oh really, well I'm happy too be a part of that." Hop Sing bowed and went to his kitchen
"Ann come on upstairs with me. I'll show you where our room is."
"All right Adam, be glad too."

"Here we are."
"Adam, some how I pictured your room as looking like this."
"And why is that?"
"Well, the desk, the drafting table, all of these blueprints. Adam, you play the guitar also."
"Yes I do. One thing I didn't tell you."
"Do you sing also I suppose."
"Mm hmm."
"Well, I guess there is a lot I have too get too know about you."
"And we have a lifetime to do that in sweetheart."
"Yes we do."
