My apologies for the late update. I've had some health issues and writers block. To the new reviewers I'm glad you've liked and stuck around for this story.

Weeks had passed and by morning it would be the day of the final test. Harmony was sat by the chasm with her friends she'd made during initiation. They were a small group but she did cherish them even if she did sometimes miss the gold old days with Grace and Thomas.

"What jobs are you guys thinking of going for?"

The question snapped Harmony out of her reminiscing mind. Her eyes shot to Naia who genuinely looked curious. Harmony took a second to think about it. She definitely didn't want to be a trainer. She didn't think she had the temperament for it. She saw the awaiting looks. "You two can answer first. Give me a second to think."

James laughed before thinking for a few minutes. "I think I'd like to work in the field. Not guarding the fence by any means but I want to protect the other inhabitants of the city. Whether that be from the factionless or not."

Eyes turned to Marissa. The former Erudite didn't even hesitate to answer. "Where my twin goes I go. That's the way it's always been." Her eyes turn to Naia. "What about you?" She asked the former Candor.

"I think I'd go for being a hairdresser. I used to love messing with my hair when I could get away with it back in Candor."

All eyes were once again on the former Candor. They'd all answered the question. Harmony was quiet for a long moment.

"I'll probably go for working in the control room. It seems like an interesting job."

"You good with computers?"

"Not really but I'm a quick study."

Laughter sounded from the two former Erudite initiates. Harmony raised an eyebrow. "What's so funny?"

"Nothing it's just, that was such an Erudite response."

Harmony shrugged in response to that.

The next morning Harmony woke up early. She was filled with nerves. This was it. She could pass and get into Dauntless or she wouldn't. The former Amity looked around the room she was in. She'd been there with the other initiates for a while now.

Some initiates were already up and showered. Others were still asleep. Harmony sighed, she still hated showering in these dorms. Especially since it was shared with the male initiates.

Harmony got her shower supplies and secured a sheet to act as a shower curtain. Stripping she turned on the water and showered. She washed her long hair first and once she'd put in the mango smelling conditioner to leave in for a while she began washing her body with mango body wash.

When she was done she washed out the conditioner and turned the water off. She squeezed out he excess water from her hair and then wrapped a towel around her body before taking down the slightly damp sheet. Harmony got dressed and brushed through her now clean hair.

After breakfast Harmony was pacing in the room she stood with her fellow initiates. She was beyond nervous. Naia watched her pace, she was nervous too but not as nervous as her friend seemed to be.

"Harmony." Naia said. She watched as Harmony's head snapped to her before continuing. "Relax. You got this."

"What if I don't?"

Naia blinked. After processing she rolled her eyes. "You got this far haven't you?"

At the stunned silence that followed Naia knew she'd gotten her point across. She also got Harmony to stop pacing much to her relief.

Initiate after initiate went in. Eventually it Naia went in. Marissa and James had already had their turns.

Fire. Loud noises. Heights. The deaths of her friends and Mara. Several more fears. All in all it took about twenty five minutes for Naia to get through her final test. When she was dismissed she went back to the dorms to shower and cool herself down.

Harmony went in when her name was called. She sat in the chair provided. It was the same type of chair from both her fear simulations and the aptitude test she took that seemed so long ago. She was hooked up and given the fear serum.

The former Amity thought she'd been in the simulation for hours going through each of her fears. In reality she had only been under for fifteen minutes having managed to shave off five minutes from her last time. When she's dismissed she does what she always does which was go sit by the chasm and listen to the roaring water.

Next chapter will be the last chapter. Thanks to everyone who's bothered to read this fic.
