"So you're asking me for permission to marry my daughter, correct?" Pruitt asked Robert who sat beside him sipping on his warm coffee.
Robert had planned this a couple of weeks ago and even though he had everything else set up he knew that he had to go through her father first so that's what he did.
They met up at a park where they sat and sipped on their cups of coffee while conversing and Andy was back at Roberts house waiting for him to get back.
"Yes sir. Andy and I have been together for a couple of months now and while I understand it's probably too early for all of this but I do know that I would want nothing more then to love her for the rest of my life and to fulfill all of her dreams and in doing all of that I would like for us to first get married" Robert answered honestly being careful not to say anything wrong.
"I can see that you are making my Andrea happy and that's all I would ever want her to be so I am granting you full permission to marry my one and only daughter" Pruitt responded smiling up at Robert.
"Thank you, I promise to always try my hardest in making her happy," he answered.
They finished talking and drinking their coffee and they gave each other a quick side hug before leaving the park.
Pruitt decided to go and visit Ryan while Robert went to the store to pick up a bouquet of roses to surprise Andy. After he picked it up he went back home to his house.
"I'm home" Robert called out as he came through the front door.
He noticed the savory smell coming from the kitchen and he immediately knew that Andy was making something.
"Where did you go?" Andy asked, smiling up at him giving him a kiss.
"Had to handle something really quickly but these are for you" he said handing her the roses of which she happily took and gave him a hug.
"You know I love flowers and especially when they come from you it's all the better" she remarked placing them down onto the counter. "I made Alfredo for lunch seeing that you weren't here for our usual workout then breakfast routine" Andy added taking the steam filled bowl to the couch.
Robert then took it upon himself and washed his hands and grabbed a bowl as well and went to go sit next to her.
"I have something special planned tonight" Robert said which made Andy quickly look up at him.
"Is it just for us or with other people?" she asked feeling the sudden urge to know whatever it was that he was planning.
"It's for us yes but I won't answer anything else just dress formal" he responded before finishing his meal and washing the dishes.
"Is it weird that I'm here now more often then my house because I mean we're together yes but not officially moved in together" Andy commented folding up the load of laundry.
"Babe it's fine I don't really mind you being here especially since we get to have our little special moments" Robert said laughing.
Robert knew that he never asked Andy to officially move in just yet but he is fully aware of her having most of her stuff at his house and spending most of her days there as well.
"That's all that's ever on your mind" Andy responded putting the clothes into the drawers.
Andy decided to go home and pack her clothes and makeup for the occasion and she also brought more extra clothes for the night.
While Andy was gone Robert made sure he had everything planned and ready for when Andy came back. He went into his room and took a shower and ironed out his clothes. Robert quickly got dressed and during the time of him getting dressed Andy came back into the house.
After about 45 minutes passed they were both ready in their black dressed attire heading to the reserved spot. They drove downtown Seattle watching the few dim lights shine across the city and a few buildings. Robert kept his hand on Andys' knee like he always did every time he drove.
Robert was excited to propose but he was still unsure about the fact of it being too soon or something going wrong.
"Robert this is an opened field, there's barely anything out here" she commented looking out the window after the car was parked.
Robert laughed at her concerned response and simply turned off the car and got out. He then went around to her side and opened up the door for her and took her hand into his.
They walked hand in hand down the pathway until they finally reached the gazebo which overlooked a lake and was decorated nicely.
"Robert" Andy said in shock of the scene she was overlooking. She was speechless at the fact that he took time in always making her feel special and loved.
"You always find a way to go above and beyond dont you" Andy commented leaning up to give him a kiss on his cheek.
"Anything for you my love" Robert stated,walking her over to the chair. He pulled it out and offered her the seat of which she took and he went and sat in across from her.
Robert opened the bottle of champagne and poured it into two of the glasses and he sliced two pieces of the cake and served it.
They sat there eating and drinking in silence overlooking the view taking subtle glances at each other.
"Follow me," Robert said, holding out his hand for Andy. Andy stood from the table and took his hand and they began walking.
"Ok so the real reason why I brought you on this little dessert type date tonight was because I planned something very special for you. It didn't take long to plan but to me it's going to be something I'll always remember and cherish." Robert stated slowly getting down on one knee. He then pulled out the famous black box and opened it which immediately sent tears to Andys' eyes.
"Andrea Herrera meeting you was probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me. You showed me true love and you helped me find my happiness and while I know we've only been together for a couple of months I still want to spend my eternity with you. You're amazingly beautiful inside and out and it would mean the world to me if you would marry me?" he said softly, watching Andys' eyes closely anticipating the answer.
"Yes of course it's a yes" Andy said full of excitement wiping the tears from her face.
Robert placed the ring on her finger and she looked at it quickly before he lifted her up from the ground and hugged her tightly.
"I love you forever and always" Andy whispered against his chest.
"I love you too" he responded, giving her a kiss.
Robert carried Andy over to a nearby bench of which they sat on,beside each other watching the view of the lake and lit buildings in the background. Andy leaned her head onto Roberts shoulder and Robert held her hand observing the shiny diamond ring.
"Next shift we'll tell the team," Andy said, breaking the still silence.
"Ok perfect. Your dad gave his blessing earlier today so he knows but I still think you should talk to him first and maybe also tell Ryan" Robert commented rubbing his hand against Andys' leg.
"Sounds wonderful; I guess tomorrow is going to be a long day," she responded laughing.
"I guess it is" he answered.
"The ring is pretty thank you" Andy said looking down at her hand.
"You are more than welcome baby" he responded, kissing her hand.
"It's getting chilly now so how about we take the celebration back to my place" Robert whispered into Andys' ear and kissing her neck softly.
"Let's clean up first and then we can leave" she whispered back.
"Everything has already been taken care of, it's just up to us to leave" he responded.
"Then let's go finish our special night" Andy responded laughing.
