Jim looked around his new command. He could tell everyone was a bit nervous about having him in charge and not Kate or Mike. I mean even Buffer would be better at this point! Jim clicked his neck on both sides and then put his hands behind his back.
"How are the other ships doing?" He asked, directed at Bomber.
"They're working along sir." Bomber answered.
Jim nodded in approval as Nav and Bomber looked at each other. Both of them didn't want to talk behind Jim's back but they weren't feeling too comfortable with him on the bridge.
"When's X coming back?" Bomber moaned quietly.
"Soon I hope. It won't be for long." Nav tried to reassure her.
"Me too." Bomber said looking over at Jim leaning up against the COs chair.
Nav fidgeted in her chair as she felt very awkward being on the bridge. She was sure Jim was a nice man but it didn't mean he was right to be in charge right now.

Kate was making her way down to the sick bay. She was trying to make herself ready for what she was going to see when she got there. It sounded urgent and urgent never meant a good thing. She got to the sick bay and knocked on the door still shaking.
"Yes!" A cry came from inside.
Kate was taken aback but still entered.

Maxine was getting everything ready to go to the secret port and meet Hammersley. Her visitor had already made her way there and was waiting for her. She had finally got her stuff together and was about to head out the door when Marshal met her at her door.
"Excuse me sir." Maxine said, trying to push past him.
"Where do you think you're going?" Marshall stopped her.
"I need to meet someone."
"Would that be Hammersley?"
"Yes it would."
"I can't let you do that I'm afraid." Marshal shook his head.
"I've seen the file." Maxine blurted.
Marshall stopped in his tracks when she had said this. The look on his face said it all. Maxine finally managed to slip his grasp. Marshal stood there.
"I've got somewhere to be." Maxine said quietly.
"Let me tell you why first." Marshall said quietly back.
"I don't need to. I already…"
"You don't." Marshall interrupted her.
Maxine turned around. What did he mean? She had read the whole file back to front, she knew everything about it! She couldn't have missed something. Could she?
"Come into my office." Marshal let her.
"I have someone waiting for me." Maxine tried to go.
"They can wait."
"What if they can't?" Maxine tried again.
Marshall gave her a look though which meant she wasn't going anywhere apart from his office. She followed her boss into the office. She wasn't happy about it but if there was something interesting to be learnt, then she needed to learn it.

Kate gasped as she opened the door of the sick bay. Buffer was standing just behind the door watching on trying to hold back being sick.
Swaine was huddled over Mike trying to do something which Kate couldn't really see. She approached slowly and quietly so she didn't disturb Swaine from whatever he was doing.
"What's going on?" Kate asked when she came to a stop.
"The CO collapsed outside. I don't know what has happened but he's going downhill fast!" Swaine shook his head.
"What do you need Swaine?" Kate kept back a weep.
"He needs a blood transfusion fast."
"How?"
"Someone on this ship must have the same blood type, we just need them to get down here."
"What type?" Kate sighed as she closed her eyes.
"O negative Ma'am."
Kate sighed in frustration. She wasn't a match and neither was Buffer. Swaine didn't look too positive either.
"Bomber." Buffer said quietly.
"What about her?" Kate asked even though she knew what it was about.
"She has the right blood type. I'll go and get her." Buffer said heading up to the bridge.
"Thanks Buff. Is there anything I can do Swaine?" Kate pleaded.
"Just talk to him for now. He'll know you're there." Swaine moved so Kate could get down next to the CO.
Kate nodded as she knelt by Mike. She took his hand in hers and kissed it. It was probably breaking about seven different protocols but she didn't care right now!

"We've been surveying a team for about three months now." Marshall said once he and Maxine were sat down.
"What's this got to do with the Hammersley or the Starlight for that matter?" Maxine crossed her arms.
Marshall sighed as he also crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. This was going to be a long conversation!
"The team seemed to have wanted to sabotage other boats. It seems during the lockdown they thought they would take Navcom over."
"Why would they want to do that?!"
"We don't know yet but it seems they are part of the Navcom area."
"What you think it was one of the boats in port?" Maxine questioned.
"Not exactly."
Maxine was confused by this statement. Unless it was the boats in port who else it could be. What linked all of the ships together or more likely who?
