Wait a minute, why did she call? Does she miss me? Oh my God,I hope she's not gonna tell me she's marrying Richard! Oh, no, not that, please! He pulls out her picture from his desk and takes a good look at her and as his glance went to her lips, he remembered that kiss they shared the night of May 17th last year.

He takes a look at the calendar on his desk. It's almost end of April. In a few days, he will be coming back to New York to meet her. He doesn't mind meeting her 13 more years till they are 40 but oh, how he wished he just said, 35 or 30 or even 27.

Seeing her with Richard is like a wake up call for him - he thought he needed that much time to prepare himself to be good enough for her - to be brave enough to tell her how he feels and to be brave enough to actually love her.

His thoughts were interrupted by Maggie - Mr. Bing, there's a phonecall for you.

Chandler picks up the phone -Chandler Bing.

Hey, Mr. Bing!

Monica?!

It's so hard to get a hold of you! How are you?

I'm fine now. How are you? God, I miss you!

Wh-what?

I-I said, I-I miss you!

Really?…

Well, yeah! Chandler feeling a bit shy.

Look, Chandler, I'm sorry about what happened back….

Chandler cutting her off…Mon, let's forget about that. How are you?

I'm good!

So, ahm, Chandler, Maggie tells me you left someone special here in New York?

Shh-she did what?

She told me you have a girlfriend here in New York!

Did- did sh-she say who?

Well no, that's why I'm asking you.

Why would she tell you that?

Well, I called a few times before and today, you were engaged in call so I waited and as I wait, we sort of got to know each other.

Ahm… wwh-what?

Well, she seems like a nice lady.

Yeah, maybe.

So, care to tell me about that girlfriend of yours?

I have nothing to tell, Mon. If I have a girlfriend, don't you think you'll be the first one to know?

Yeah, right! Just like when when you decided to transfer to Asia?

Oh, I knew you're gonna call me out for that! Look…I-I…

Hey, it's okay, Chandler. I understand. Let's not waste the time talking about that.

So, about that girl?

Well, I thought she told you!

She didn't tell me okay? She just told me you had someone special here in New York and that her picture is right there on your desk!

Oh, that! I think I'm gonna go find myself a new secretary!

Chandler!

Okay, okay, I'll tell you when we see each other.

Really?… Wait, is it Aurora?…oh, oh, or Janice? …It's Janice, right?

No, Mon. I'll tell you when I see you in May, okay?

Maggie knocks and says Excuse me, Mr. Bing but there's an urgent call for you, it's the Main Office, Sir.

Thanks, Maggie. Chandler replied. Hey, Mon, thanks for calling. It's really nice to hear your voice again. I just gotta take this call. We'll talk later, okay? Bye.

Hey, was that Chandler you're talking to? Rachel asked.

Yes!

So, she has a girlfriend now?

Well, as it turned out, he left a girlfriend here in New York.

How did you know that?

Well, I kinda got the tip from his secretary.

Wow, that secretary is so fired!

Knowing that Chandler has a girlfriend is not exactly the news she would like to hear. But it is better than not hearing about him at all. She is seeing him in a few weeks and that's all that matters for now. She doesn't mind seeing him 13 more years after that but she kinda wished he would get together with her when they're 35, or 30 or even 27.

The news about Chandler's relocation was a wake up call for her. Her heart was broken long before she and Richard parted ways. That news stopped her from considering getting together with some random guy she meets along the way. But now that she learned about Chandler's girlfriend, she has to prepare herself for a long journey of hiding whatever pain she feels and just be happy with whatever makes him happy.

Two Days Before Meet-up

Monica receives a mail from Chandler. Contained in the mail is a ticket for an early bus ride to Atlantic City. This gives Monica enough time to make up a reason to tell her friends about that trip.

Meanwhile, Chandler prepares himself for his flight bringing only one carry-on bag with clothes just enough for a day or two.

May 17th

Monica alighted the bus with a ticket in her hand. It didn't take long before she found her seat. She put her bag in the compartment above her seat and settled near the window. She didn't know whether Chandler will be taking the bus with her or if he is already there. She didn't have the chance to clarify because he has already left for his flight when her ticket arrived.

Oh, excuse me, Miss, may I sit beside you?

Chandler!
