(Mid Chapter Authors Notes)

I stare blankly at the screen floating before me, I do this quite a lot now... just making completely sure aspects of the quest haven't changed... and well... they haven't...

A Semblance of the Gods:

You have unlocked your semblance! Congratulat- oh... normally don't gamers get bullshit like 'gravity reversal' or 'friction control'? Huh... no matter! It is a weapon and it shall be used as such! Making your pathetic semblance even slightly useful will be a grand challenge, perhaps taking you well into Canon... but it will be worth it!

Objectives:

Get your Semblance to level 100: [x]
Get your Aura to Level 100: [x]
Evolve your Semblance: [x]
Get your Evolved Semblance to level 100: [ ]

Rewards:
Increased Plot Relevance through ?, 750,000 Exp, ?, ?, ?.

'…'

That's all the objectives...

I get nearly a million experience for getting a single skill up to level one hundred...

I'm a little worried about the 'plot relevancy' though...

I glance to my new semblance.

Locative Compass (Semblance): (Active) (Level 99: 98.5%) Cost: Dependent
You may lock onto any of the four Cardinal, Ordinal and eight Intercardinal Directions for 100 Aura, additionally, you may now use it to locate any place you've been, item you've touched, or person you've met for 1000 Aura

It has been around four months since Emerald started staying at my house... plus I've finally finished renovations!

I look up as the light above begins to flicker. 'son of a-'

I stand up and walk into my golem storage room, then turn to the left and walk into a small closet where three large dust generators sit on the floor, plugged into several large car-esque batteries sunk in the wall.

I hold up a hand, creating a fist-sized yellow dust crystal, it is murky, but seemingly has sparks of electricity on the inside.

I flick open the top of one of the dust generators and tug out a dull grey crystal, tossing it over my shoulder where it shatters on the wall, I place the new crystal in the generator and repeat the process with the other two generators.

"Clean that up." I state as I walk out of the room, a small foot tall crystal golem slowly moving across the floor and shoving the used dust crystals inside of it.

'well, might as well jump head first into this...'

My current semblance is ACTUALLY useful to me... kind of surprising... I can more or less even keep track of Neo if I wanted.

It's more of a 'within the same city' sort of thing, it's kind of worthless when tracking things on other continents... but still, I guess I've accomplished my goal, even if it's a little anticlimactic...

I sit down on the couch again. 'oh well, here I go.'

'north, north, north, north, north-'

You have leveled up x7

"…"

'only seven times?'

The quest screen pops up again, displaying all of the information I already know... but I does tell me my rewards!

Rewards:
Increased Plot Relevance through ? Genetic trait, 750,000 Exp, Aura Technique: Enhance, Further Evolved Semblance, Evolved Semblance becomes Hereditary

You have gained a genetic trait!

? (Genetic Power) (Passive) (Level: Max)
grants several unknown affects.

I blink slowly and look at my skills list and shake my head after taking a quick moment to look over myself. 'I'll look into that soon enough... I have no idea what that does... buuut it didn't turn me into a Faunus... I have no additional body parts.'

You have gained a new skill!

Aura Technique: Enhance (Active) (Level 1: 0.0%) Cost: See below.
You supercharge your aura, granting you much higher abilities, yet for a highly increased cost.
You multiply the effects of aura on your Str and dex by 2, yet the cost of your aura and any other aura-related techniques multiplies by 10, and the duration until it is required to be cast again is reduced to 2 seconds instead of a minute.

'oho... now this is useful... I assume as it levels up, I'll be getting a higher multiplier and more time... this skill ALONE is practically another semblance! And you are telling me my semblance evolved AGAIN?! Then became hereditary?! The only other hereditary semblance I know is the Schnee glyphs, and with those you can alter time, summon grimm, shoot elemental attacks, and MORE! What the hell did my semblance turn into?!'

Windrose (Semblance): (Active) (Level 1: 0.0%) Cost: Dependent
You may lock onto any of the four Cardinal, Ordinal and eight Intercardinal Directions for 100 Aura, additionally, you may now use it to locate any place you've been, item you've touched, or person you've met for 1000 Aura, or, you may have your semblance point to a location you haven't been for 10000 Aura.

I read through the skill with a small frown. 'wait... this is a little underwelm- oh...'

"Oh..." I whisper to myself.

'point me in the direction of Raven Branwen's Camp.'

I slowly look forwards as I am being told that its roughly the direction I am facing, but quite a bit to the left.

Windrose has Leveled Up

'oooooh... my semblance is basically omniscience.'

"Oh shit..." I mutter.

'I-if this improves the way the last one did... places I haven't been... item's I haven't touched... people I have never met... oh gods... it's actually overpowered as hell.'

I sort of want to get up and do a small jig... I WORKED for this! And I accomplished my goal!

'status'

'ohoho I am pretty powerful now...'

Name: Azure Jade

Due to your Luc reaching 50, you have gained a skill:

Loaded Dice: (Passive) [Level Max]
Good things always seem to happen to you.
Cooldown: (Ready to be used)

Due to your Luc reaching 100, you have gained a skill:

Lucky 13: (Passive) [Level Max]
Every 13th attack is guaranteed to be a 'Critical Hit' which does x2 damage... which is fairly unfortunate... for the enemy!

'w-what? Where did I get upwards of like eighty luck?!'

Dexterity: 147 (145+2%)
Vitality: 122
Intelligence: 170
Wisdom: 80
Luck: 116

I hear a door open somewhere above me.

'oh, Emerald must be up...'

I hear her quietly walk down the steps and into the kitchen.

This room has changed a little... it is still the first room in the house, but the front door leads to a bridge with rails on each side that goes along the center of the room, continuing forwards is the hallway leading to a bathroom and several bedrooms.

To the left and right of the bridge are two spiral staircases, one leads to the living room, and the other to the kitchen. At the bottom, in between each, is a hallway leading elsewhere.

Emerald grabs a caffeinated beverage from the fridge and walks under the bridge, in between the two columns holding it up and sits on the couch beside me.

She yawns as she looks over. "Hey Azure... good morning."

"Good morning." I nod to her as I glance back to the Tv.

She looks to the tv as well, only to snap her head back over to me. "Wait what?!"

I glance over. "Hn?"

She flinches as we make eye contact. "Azure... did you do anything to change your eye color?"

"Pardon?"

I stand up and rush up the stairs, down the hall, and to the bathroom on the left, the door closes behind me as I stare into the mirror.

"…"

"FUUUUUUUCK!"

I rub a hand over my face, then look in the mirror again with a sigh.

"Why?"

It still hasn't changed back... oh fuck, this must be permanent...

I frown into the mirror, glaring back is a boy with pale skin and black hair... something that has become regular to me... but gone are the normal emerald color eyes... in their place are two glowing eyes that hold untold mysteries within, a beautiful shade, and vibrant in color...

Silver...

I turn my head slightly cupping my chin.

The only problem is... I don't exactly look bad with silver eyes... I'm mainly just annoyed by another reason for Ozpin to seek me out... but on the other hand, I really like the bonuses it gives me.'

Your Genetic Trait has been discovered! Revealing all abilities!

Silver Eyes: (Genetic Power) (Passive) (Level: Max)
Light Attunement:
Light magics Such as Light, Holy Water, Holy Fire, Rainbow, Healing, and Creation has a +50% increase in effect and damage, then costs 25% less
Cast Out the Dark:
Dark magics, such as Shadow, Hellfire, Necromancy, Poison, Grimm, Acid, and Destruction Have a 40% Decrease in effect and damage, then cost 20% more.
Beacon in the Night:
Grimm target you over other huntsmen, grimm are more inclined to attack you even if you don't have Aura.
Secret Sharingan:
You gain access to the 'Petrify' skill.
Magically Inclined:
A non-gamer would gain access to Mana, but in your case, your Base Mana per level is now 200 instead of 100
Plot Relevancy:
increase Luck Stat by 1 per level.

I shake my head and walk out of the bathroom. 'the one luck per level is overpowered... as is most of this other crap... kind of annoyed that it weakens 'destruction' though... that affinity is probably fifth tier at least... buuut it does increase creation so I guess it sort of balances out.'

"Azure... are you alright?" Emerald asks as she stands by the door.

"I'm fine..." I sigh. "Just... a little annoyed... my eye color changed into something... pretty rare and dangerous."

"Hn. how is that even possible?"

"Silver eyed people are hunted down by grimm and killed because of their potential to kill the creatures of grimm." I state as I walk past her. "I've gained a powerful weapon... but have gained a target on my back because a certain headmaster just looooves to collect users... also grimm are attracted to me more than the average huntsmen, buuut the perks are worth it I guess."

"That really... didn't answer my question." Emerald calls out as she walks behind me.

I sigh and shake my head. 'ugh... speaking of headmasters...'

I walk down the steps and grab a small crystal ball sitting on the table.

It crackles slightly, but clears up quickly.

"What are you doing now?" Emerald asks as she sits down beside me.

"Nothing much, I just decided to spy on Haven's dear old headmaster." I smirk.

"W-What?! Why?!" She asks.

"Ooooh nothing much... it's just... I have noticed a massive decline of Mistralian huntsmen and huntresses... their death rate is far higher than Vale, Atlas, or even Vacuo's... and that is surprising considering Vacuo is a fucking hellscape... I believe that there might be some foul play in the mix."

The crystal ball shows a grey-haired old man bowed before a floating grimm orb with tentacles.

"…" I am silent for a moment.

"HOLY SHIT!" Emerald shouts.

"Huh..." I mutter.

I hadn't expected my 'Golem Transmitters' to work... I basically created a load of finger-sized golems with transmitting capability and had an elemental sink into the ground with them and drop them every four miles or so until it made it to Mistral and dropped the tiny Camera golem off, where it then slowly burrowed into Haven Academy and worked its way through the walls up into the headmaster's office.

"I have done everything you have asked of me, my queen." He stutters, bowed face down on the carpet.

"Pardon?" A voice from the other side of the grimm orb asks, the murky red fog of the balloon-like grimm clearing up to reveal a pale white woman with red eyes, black sclera, and snow-white hair. "I wasn't aware I asked you to do anything for me yet... you have only just managed to gain contact with me after all."

"W-Well, my queen, as soon as I was contacted by your servants, I-I have begun culling the huntsmen and huntress in Mistral as I had assumed that's what you would have wanted... I've sent some out on missions with misinformation, and none have returned! I-if I continue, I predict that I'll be able to reduce the huntsmen and huntress population by s-sixty percent, I-I only hope that you spare-"

"WHAT?!" The woman finally shouts, she had frozen up about half way through the huntsman's explanation with a look of shock on her face. "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!"

'huh?' I blink slowly.

Salem... wouldn't get worked up over this... would she? It was her plan after all.

The man flinches and bows more. "I-Is that not what you d-desire?!"

"NO!" The woman shouts. "YOU THREW AWAY THE LIVES OF DOZENS BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT YOU THOUGHT I WOULD WANT?! I HAD JUST WANTED YOU TO SEND ME INFORMATION OF OZMA'S SCHEMES NOT THIS!"

A grimm somewhere besides Salem begins snarling as the woman takes a breath to calm herself and glares at the man.

"What sort of monster are you?!" Salem asks. "To kill people who looked up to you... people who trusted you without a second thought or any remorse?!"

The woman lets out a single huff. "You disgust me... of course all of those in his council would be corrupt and evil."

'eh?'

"I will not kill you, coward... nor will I command a grimm to end your life... after all, I do not deserve the pleasure of ending your miserable, pathetic, waste of a life... even if it would please me greatly... hn... ah yes, that is a grand idea!" The woman glances away from the grimm. "Would you please contact Watts?"

There is a small murmur of confirmation in the background as the woman smirks back at the grimm. "I do ever so hope you enjoy the coming weeks, my deal Leonardo... because... not even the gods will be able to save your soul now."

The grimm abruptly turns to black smoke, ending the call with the headmaster.

"T-The grimm have a leader." Emerald stutters as I tap the top of the crystal ball, turning it off.

"She seems nicer than I imagined..." I mutter with a frown. "I would have expected the queen of grimm to congratulate him on killing huntsmen for her..."

Emerald slowly looks over to me. "W-Wait... you know her?!"

"Well, know about her... I don't know her personally." I scoff. "She's magic user number five."

Emerald rubs her temple. "Is this 'Ozma' she spoke about number six?"

"Yep." I nod.

"Then that makes you number seven, right?"

"No." I shake my head. "Number seven is Qrow Branwen... a huntsmen who works for number six... I'm number eight... or... well... not counting any other silver eyed people because they are inherently magic."

Emerald covers her face with her hands and rubs her forehead with her fingertips. "Ugh... I remember back when the only thing I had to worry about was my next meal... back when everything made sense!"

She seems to have an epiphany "Wait... did you get silver eyes because you can use magic?!"

"I dunno." I shrug. "Probably not... It probably has something to do with my semblance."

"And what exactly is your semblance? You always seem to just move on whenever you are asked about it." Emerald frowns.

"Oh... t-that?" I tilt my head and look away. "W-Well... my semblance is... well..."

I meekly mutter. "A compass?"

She lets out a huff of laughter. "S-Seriously?! A compass?!"

I look away with a blush. "Y-Yeah."

"S-So do you like... get to tell which direction is north or something?!" She laughs.

"W-well, I used to..." I whisper.

*Snrk-*

"Please don't laugh..." I sigh as I rub my forehead.

"I-It's just that you have all this super powerful stuff, magic, silver eyes, and your semblance just tells you which way is north! I honestly expected you to have some sort of doom laser or something!"

"Well... my semblance evolved and became hereditary..." I frown.

"how does that affect your eyes?!" She cackles only to blink after a moment. "And oh, your poor children..."

I rub the bridge of my nose. "It became hereditary so maybe it unlocked certain powers in my bloodline or something? And my semblance is actually USEFUL now so I don't need to feel bad about it anymore!"

"Oh? What does it do, let you tell which way is south?!"

"Well, yes... but-"

"My god..." She whispers, cutting me off. "How foolish have I been?! That is by far the strongest semblance I have ever come across!"

"I can also have it point to locations I have been... people I have met... items I have touched..."

She shuts up immediately. "Oh..."

"And recently I have been experimenting and it is able to tell me the way to places I haven't been, say, where a certain bandit camp is, or a secret hideout."

"Ooooh." She whispers. "Y-Yeah... okay... I can see why it's hereditary now..."

"Yeah." I scoff with a half-lidded glare. "Mock the guy with basically omniscience. Fucking hell, if I know they exist I can pinpoint their base of operation! Do you know how overpowered that is?! I can be all 'Point me to the nearest schnee dust mine' AND IT PROBABLY WOULD!"

"I-I'm sorry." She mutters while looking away.

"Nah." I sigh. "Banter is fine... it's just that I was a little insecure about it until I managed to evolve it a little."

I look up at the ceiling as a thought crosses my mind. "I wonder what your semblance would be like if you evolve it... maybe like that Neo girl's where everyone can see the illusions? You have the advantage of sound... but her evolution would probably make her illusions semi-real..."

"You're... still going after her?"

"Well, I mean, yeah..." I scoff. "I text her regularly and she has a couple aspects your semblance doesn't cover... she can look like anyone at any time, and to top it all off, even in her base form, her small and cute stature might cause people to underestimate her."

"Small and cute hm?" Emerald deadpans with a small glare.

"Oi oi! Don't take my words out of context!" I frown.

"I literally just repeated what you said! How is that out of context?!" She asks with a small grin.

"Alright, so she is adorable! What of it?!" I growl.

"Oh, so you DO like her that way!" Emerald laughs.

Having another person around is a lot of fun... especially when they aren't afraid or too polite to sass me like Pyrrha is. "I said she was adorable! I didn't say I like her that way!"

"Why are you being so defensive about it if you don't?!"

WELL, this chapter flew together... that's sort of impressive...

Azure has silver eyes now... and his semblance is basically a more accurate version of jack sparrow's compass considering he can actually just tell it what he wants.

And Ruby will have mana?! Whaaat?! Well, yeah, but it's locked... she uses Mp for her silver eyed abilities... I haven't actually seen any 'Gamers' with silver eyes... so maybe this will be interesting to all of you.

Also, FF hasn't been sending me ALL of the reviews for some fucking reason... only like 80-90% of them... so if I missed you, sorry.

Guest reviews:

Guest 001: Eh, technically he could do that, but that comes with all the woes of owning a pet... bathing it, cleaning up after it, feeding it, honestly just seems like more of a hassle than it's worth.

ANYWAYS, I'll see you all later! Probably not any time soon though... think of yesterday as a thanksgiving special, and this as the actual chapter.
