4 years later…
Lyndy comes into the office of the clinic as she looks around "Daddy" she yells out "Uncle Scott, Godmama" she says continuing to look around "Is anyone here?" She says before noticing a puppy whimpering from a kennel as she walks over bending down "Hey cutie" she says sticking her hand out as the dog licks it
"Lyndy" Scott says as he comes out of the operating room "What are you doing here?"
"I had a half day at school today" Lyndy says as she looks at him "I had a friend's mom drop me off, since Lisa and GG are on a trip for their anniversary and Aunt Lou and Uncle Mitch are out of town right now" she says continuing "And Godpapa and Grandpa are busy at the rodeo school" she says looking at him again "I figured Daddy would have told you"
"You know, your dad and I have been so stretched thin today he probably forgot" Scott says looking at her "But it's okay, I have an emergency surgery to do right now"
"Okay I'll just stay here" Lyndy says as she looks at him
"And if" Scott says as he looks back at her
"If any clients come in just yell" Lyndy says as she looks at him "I've done that more than a few times Uncle Scott"
"Yes you have" Scott says as he looks at Lyndy "I'll be in here if you need me"
A little while later Scott walks back out of the operating room as he sees Lyndy sitting on the desk as she has a puppy on her lap petting it as he stands there for a minute and can't help but picture Amy sitting there
"So what's going on with this little guy Uncle Scott?" Lyndy says as she notices him standing there
"Well" Scott says as he pulls a chair over to her "This puppy actually has a case of heartworms"
"Oh" Lyndy says as she looks at him "Is he going to be okay?"
"Well we've been treating him for it" Scott says as he smiles at her "And actually it's time for another dose of medicine" he says continuing to look at her "Can you help hold him still?"
"Yep" Lyndy said as Scott rolls back over to the table grabbing the medicine
"Hey Lyndy Bug" Cass says as she walks back into the office
"Hi Godmama" Lyndy says as Cass comes over as she leans against the table
"What are you doing here?" Cass says as she looks at her
"Half day at school" Lyndy says as she looks at her "Is no one just happy to see me anymore" she says as Cass gives her a look as she leans her back giving her a kiss on the head
"But she is being a great helper" Scott says as he looks at Cass as he continues to look at the puppy in Lyndy's arms
Just then Ty walks in to see the three of them "Honey what" he begins to say
"Half day" Scott and Cass say at the same time
"Yea Daddy" Lyndy says as she looks at him "What they said"
"Oh I forgot all about that" Ty says as he rubs his head
"Don't worry daddy" Lyndy says as she looks at him "Kara and her mom dropped me off"
"What happened to you?" Cass says looking at Ty who is covered in dirt and mud all over him
"What happened" Ty says as he looks at them "What happened is that I hate going out to Anderson ranch" he says continuing "Mr. Anderson can never bring his own animals up for me to check them, I always have to get the animals myself" he says looking down at his clothes "And I fell"
"Yea that's exactly why I don't volunteer to go out there anymore" Scott says as Ty looks at him
"I'm going to go home and get cleaned up really quick" Ty says as he looks at them "Sweetheart do you want to come with me"
"Actually" Lyndy says as she gives him a little grin "There's just so many animals that need some love and so little time to do it in"
"She can stay here" Cass says as she turns around to Ty "I'll keep an eye on her"
"Okay" Ty says as he looks at her as he gets ready to walk out of the office "I'll be back in a little while"
"Come on I'll walk you out" Scott says as he walks over toward Ty as they begin to walk out of the office "She definitely gets her love of animals from both of you" he says continuing as they hear the door open "I think she may just be a vet one day"
A little while later Lyndy is holding a cat sitting at the desk with Ty as Cass comes in pushing a double stroller
"Hey girls" Ty says as he looks over to see the girls in the stroller
"Hi Amy" Lyndy says putting the cat down as she walks over bending down "Hi Ava" she says as the girls start saying her name
"If we can pull you away from your animals, we wanted to see if you want to come to the park with us" Cass says as she continues to look at Lyndy "And go eat dinner at Maggie's with the girls and I, and I think your Godpapa and Jackson might meet us over there too" she says continuing "Since your Daddy has to work later"
"Can I Daddy?" Lyndy says as she looks back at Ty
"Go on" Ty says as Lyndy smiles as she stands back up "Have fun and I'll see you when I get home"
"Okay bye Daddy" Lyndy says as she runs ahead of Cass and the girls
"We'll bring her home when we get finished with dinner" Cass says as she looks at Ty
"Okay" Ty says as he pulls some cash out "Can you get me something for dinner too"
"You got it" Cass says as she looks at him "But we have it covered" she says as Ty puts the money back in his wallet
"Thanks Cass" Ty says as he looks at her "See you later"
"Bye" Cass says as she looks down at the stroller "Say bye Godpapa" she says as she looks at the girls
"Are you ready Godmama?" They hear Lyndy yell from the door
"Coming" Cass says as she begins to move the stroller forward "See ya" she says as they head out as Ty looks at them go
"Okay John" Ty says as he walks out into the hallway of the clinic as he looks back where their vet assistant is sitting at the desk "I'll see you tomorrow" he says beginning to walk out as his phones goes off as he looks at the number before picking it up as he walks across the parking lot toward his truck "Hello" he says picking it up continuing to listen "Joanna?" he says as he climbs into his truck
"I have a favor to ask you" Joanna says as Sam across from her across from her at the bar and grill
