A week passed and Varian smiled at Cassandra.
"I'm glad we could put aside everything to enjoy this pleasant moment together," he said, "Now that I know everything I need to know, I can rest easy."
Varian lie back.
"Varian, the wedding will start in a few hours," Cassandra reminded him.
"Well, hell yeah, I've got time!" Varian said, stretching, "Ah, today's gonna be frickin' perfect, you know that?"
"I know you invited Rapunzel," Cassandra said.
"So what? You seriously still have beef with her?"
"Of course I do!" Cassandra said, "She betrayed me too!"
"Now, 'betrayed' is a strong word," Varian said, "You sure she meant to? I mean, that's sorta what people do when you don't show up in Corona for God knows how long. From my perspective, you betrayed her more, yet she's still happy for you."
"Are you drunk, Varian!?" Cassandra shouted.
"I've only touched alcohol once in my life and instantly regretted it," Varian replied, "Just rest easy, Cass. In a few hours, we'll be married and have the child you've always dreamed of."
Cassandra smiled. "You're right. Maybe I'm the one acting like I drank too much," she said, "Thanks, Varian."
Bells began to chime. Varian pulled out his phone. "Shit! We've only got a few seconds! Let's go!"
"So much for 'rest easy'," Cass said in a sarcastic manner.
"No time for sarcasm! Let's get the hell out there!" Varian cried.
They ran out to the wedding area. Varian put a relieved hand on his forehead.
"Phew! We made it with only two seconds to spare!" Varian said.
From the audience, Rapunzel happily waved at Cassandra and Varian.
"Hey, Rapunzel!" Varian said, "I'm so glad you could make it!"
"I wouldn't miss it for the world! Both you and Cass mean so much to me!" Rapunzel said.
"You've a great friend, Rapunzel," Varian said, "Sorry about everything before and this time I'm completely real."
Cassandra was tapping her foot. "Let's get on with it, Varian!" she said.
Varian came running back, letting out a nervous laugh. "Sorry, Cass," he said, "It's just been a minute since I last saw her and-,"
"She was my friend too, but now that's all behind me!" Cassandra shouted, "You've made the wrong choice coming here, Rapunzel!"
"Cass, wait!" Varian said.
Reluctantly, he loosened his belt a little bit. But when he did, he blushed. "I'm no slob and I really don't approve of turning you on, but by exposing myself a little bit, I hope you will stop."
And if was true. Just a little bit of gray boxers did the trick against Varian's wishes.
"OK, OK," Cassandra said, blushing, "I'll stop."
In his mind, he was sweating with tons of embarrassment. He just pulled down a little bit of his pants in public and it just didn't sit well with himself. Varian ran off, red in the face.
Rapunzel chased after Varian.
"Varian, are you OK?" she asked.
"Why did I do that? That was no accident! I wasn't thinking straight!" Varian cried, "It all started with a sexual prank of hers and now I just-!"
"Calm down, Varian. It's OK," Rapunzel said, "I wasn't even paying attention. So what if you teased her? I'm calling this an accidental tease since you were desperate."
"I don't think I'm ready to be a father," Varian said, "I don't even have one myself and I'm a nervous wreck. Just the idea of her eventually having to see everything is just so damn nerve-wracking!"
"Don't worry," Rapunzel said, "It'll be quick and easy."
"I-I don't know," Varian said, "But if you say so. Is it possible to keep our clothes on?"
"I'm not sure, but most people go the embarrassing way out," Rapunzel said, "And as you'd friend who has two daughters, you can trust me. She won't see your privates."
"Thanks, Rapunzel," Varian said, "I'll try to deal with it for the time being. You're right, I will get used to this-," Varian gulped. "Penis exposure."
He got back up and made his way to Cassandra. "Sorry that took so long," he said, swooping her off her feet, "So whaddya say we get this show on the road?"
"Put me down, Varian," Cassandra said.
"Not until the signal!" Varian said, waiting. "You may kiss the bride."
So then they were married.
