After that day, Jack went every day to the care home to visit Ianto after work. They will spend hours talking, remembering caching up and laughing. Ianto would get visits from his family, his daughter would visit him every Monday lunchtime, his son would visit him everyday before work, Jamie would pass by Friday before going out, Haley and her family would come to lunch every Sunday, Francis will call on Wednesday. All of this moments would light up his day but now he woke up every morning looking forward to the two or three hours a day he got to spend with Jack. He loved to spend time with Jack, he got back the best part of their relationship, yeah the sex was always amazing but that was never the reason why he marry Jack. One day they were in the common room playing cards, Jack was hiding cards in his coat pockets, and after a while Jack claimed victory.
"No you cheated" Ianto argued "you always cheat"
"I did not, I won legitimately "Jack defended himself "cross my heart and hope to die"
"Please" Ianto said, even in his old age he was the same sarcastic, dry humoured man Jack knew and loved. "That saying means shit coming from you, an Immortal man,"
"Okay you got me"Jack said taking the cards out of his pocket "to be fair I was a conman for a great chunk of my life"
"Thank you for bing SO honest" Ianto said sarcastically.
"Ok but seriously I wanted to talk to you about something" Jack said shuffling the cards "I know I said this in the past but everything was so fresh. But I really sorry for hurting you"
"Jack, its okay" Ianto said "You broke my heart, my trust, you broke me but I know you made a mistake. For a long time part of me believed, part of you didn't love me. Until one day I was talking to Gwen and I dared to ask about you, and I never forget what she said 'oh you know, he is Jack, almost, he does not seam complete'. I released you lost me too and I forgave you "
"Part of me was lost that day "Jack said"and I spent a lot of time coming to terms on the fact that I single handedly fucked up the best thing in my life, and not being with you was torture for a while. But knowing that you probably hated me was worse"
"I'm not angry at you anymore". Ianto assured "I used to be, but Im not anymore. And the only time I hated you is after Lisa"
"I have to admit" said Jack "I was ready to retcon you to infancy that day"
"So why did you let me keep my memories?" Asked Ianto
"I spent hours thinking about it"Jack explained "but I concluded that what you did was done with a desperation and love, and not to hurt people. Plus if I retconned you I wouldn't be able to see your cute butt everyday"
"Of course" Ianto said "why am I not surprised?
Jack only smirked "I'm glad Jamie tracked me down" he said after a while
"Me too" Ianto smiled
