Meanwhile...
Back on the mysterious island...
Growl was doing what he said he would be doing, and trying to getting ready to camp for the night. Something like this wasn't new to him, especially when he was out there with Star's village's sword. However, considering that he was trapped on this island with only him and his own hands, it seems like this was going to be a little more difficult for him.
The first thing he did before he went to build his own house, he decided to gather himself some branches from some of the trees, and a couple sticks. He then picks up two rocks off of the ground, trying to hit them together in order to start a fire for himself. So far, for him, it wasn't working.
Growl continued to do this for about a minute or so, before doing this a little faster. But even going faster wasn't enough to get an actual fire started for himself. After attempting to get a fire started for himself failed, he tosses one of the rocks aside, groaning in frustration.
"God damn it!" Growl mutters. "Wish my lighter didn't get washed off to sea, then this would've been a hell of a lot easier."
"I see you're getting...nowhere." Wendalyn said, sounding unimpressed by Growl's 'progress'.
The male ninja was almost started by her voice when she spoke. He immediately stood up off of the ground, looking towards her direction, seeing her standing near one of the trees, crossing her arms. Once she was in his sights, he narrows her eyes at her.
"Well, thanks for not sugar-coating it, sweetheart." Growl said in a rude and sarcastic manner. He then tosses the other rock to the ground, before stepping closer to her. "What brings you out here anyway? To brag?! I thought you said you were busy with shit I don't know about."
"True. However, I wanted to see what you were doing while I was inside my house." Wendalyn took a couple steps forward, keeping her eyes focused on Growl as she walked towards him. "To think you'd be stealing from the vegetable patch when I'm not looking." Growl scoffs at the girl's words, before sitting down onto the ground.
"I don't need you vegetables."
Growl looks over to the other rock he tossed aside, before picking it up, and continuing to try to make a fire again. Wendalyn walks over to the pile of sticks that Growl had, before she kneels down to the ground in front of him. He continued to talk, still trying to continue doing what he was doing seconds ago.
"I don't need any of the stuff that you carry in that hut of yours." Growl said. Wendalyn raises an eyebrow.
"Ah, I see...so you've seen what the inside of my hut looks like, yes?" Wendalyn asked.
"Yes, as a matter of fact, I have."
Growl then stops hitting the rocks together, finally seeing smoke coming off of the end of one of the sticks. A small fire was starting to form off of the sticks that he gathered, causing him to nod successfully. He sits back onto the ground behind him, before he looks up at Wendalyn again, who was now backing up away from the small campfire so that her cape won't get caught in it by mistake.
"You know, I haven't even asked when I first seen you. Tell me something, who are you suppose to be, Wendalyn?" Growl asked her. "It's not everyday that you come across some random isolated island, only to see one person living here by their lonesome, especially with what kind of shit I seen in that hut of yours."
"I felt what you've seen is quite obvious, isn't it?" Wendalyn asked him.
"No. It's really not." He held out a hand, counting on his fingers of what he had seen in the girl's house. "I mean...the weird ass shit I seen in those jars that your bookshelf is holding. Lizards...bugs...water...ice...sugar...and many more things I can't even explain. The many books that you appear to be carrying as well, and did I forget to mention about the cauldron? All of this was only the first room that I walked into." Wendalyn sat there silently, just staring at the ninja as he continued to talk about what he had seen. "What kind of person even are you?"
Wendalyn sat there silently. She looks up at the sky, sighing to herself, seemingly trying to avoid the question that the man had asked her. But at the same time, it didn't appear to be what she was actually doing, as she instantly formed a smirk on her face when she looked up at the sky. She finally spoke once she looks back down at Growl, finally saying something.
"I'm very glad you have asked that, and about time too..." Wendalyn said, before pointing at the sky above her. "...Because it's about to rain."
Growl scoffs at what the girl had said, a smirk forming on his face. "It's not going to rain." Growl said.
Right as he said that, the sound of thunder roared in the sky above, then immediately, the rain poured down onto the two, and making the fire go out. Wendalyn sat there, staring at Growl, who still had the smirk on his face, but this time, she saw that his eye was twitching in complete annoyance. She scoffs out a chuckle, before she stood up off of the ground.
"I believe it's time to go to my house now." Wendalyn said, causally. "Come along now." The girl walks off to her house, as Growl sat there, still pretty miffed at the fact that his own campfire went out because of the rain. He eventually snapped back to reality, and followed Wendalyn.
A couple moments later...
Wendalyn enters her house, as Growl was still a couple seconds away outside. She claps her hands twice, causing the lights to turn on by themselves. She then went into the next room so that she can collect something that was upstairs.
Upon entering the house again, Growl looks around, seeing that the lights were now on. Everything inside the house wasn't a surprise to him anymore, considering he had already seen everything, thanks to his mask. But that doesn't stop the fact that he was still confused by what everything around him meant, nor does it explain to him who Wendalyn is. None of it was still making sense to the male ninja.
Growl walks over to the table that was to the right of the room, seeing a couple papers that was all over it. He walks up to the table, looking at what was on all of them. He places both hands on the table, looking down at all of the papers that were scattered around it.
Nothing was really seen on any of the papers except for a lot of words, most of which, Growl didn't understand. It was pretty much what all of them had. These papers that were around made the male ninja even more confused, and still not sure what kind of person Wendalyn even is.
"I see you found my workbench, Growl." Wendalyn said, suddenly appearing in the walkway behind Growl.
Growl jumps in horror, quickly turning around, facing the blue-haired girl. Wendalyn could only stand there, calmly watching the ninja react in horror at the sight of the girl suddenly being behind him. Growl took a deep breath, before he finally spoke.
"God damn..." Growl mutters, before turning around towards the workbench he's standing near.
"Sorry for the sudden scare. I was upstairs, collecting my broomstick before I came back down here." Wendalyn said, before walking her way towards the bookshelf that was to the right of the table Growl was standing at. "I see you found my workbench, yes?"
"Well...yeah, all of these papers...one says that you can turn a person into stone...one says that you can just show up into another location within per seconds...I mean..."
Growl was at a lost for words at some of these things that he was seeing. Almost the idea of these things happening was preposterous to him. The two things he mentioned could never happen in any sort of way, shape or form. He held out a hand, looking over to the blue-haired girl in confusion.
"I'm sorry, I never seen these methods of science before." Growl said.
At this point, Wendalyn just stared at the ninja with a smirk on her face again. "It's not science..." Growl blinked rapidly, confused.
Wendalyn looks away from the man, now facing the bookshelf in front of her. She pulls one of the books off of it, before opening it up, and reading it, causally to herself. She smiled, as she finally told him what he was seeing on all of the papers on the desk in front of him.
"...It's magic." Wendalyn said.
"Magic?" Growl asked in disbelief.
"You can say it's unbelievable, but it is indeed...magic..." Wendalyn closes the book that was in her hands, before facing Growl, admitting another thing about herself. "...And I...am a witch...a Wonder Witch."
"Wonder Witch? What's a...nevermind..." Growl points at the papers that were on the table next to him. "...You expect me to believe what all of this is, it's just...magic, and that...you're a witch? You think I'm going to take your word for it?"
"Honestly, yes, I thought the hat gave it away that I was one, as well as my broom." Wendalyn then began to walk away from Growl, walking over to the walkway that leads to the next room. "If you don't believe me now, just you wait. I'm going to bring my broom upstairs, and when I come down, you WILL know that I am not lying."
"Sure you will, sweetheart. Just go put your broom upstairs." Wendalyn walks away, as Growl remained leaning on the workbench, watching her leave the room.
Growl just stood there with a smirk on his face, just shaking his head at what the girl had told him. To him, the idea of magic existing is just ridiculous, and knew that this girl was just making up lies. For what it's worth, for Growl, this girl wasn't as bad as Star is, considering this girl isn't as much of a buzzkill than Star was ever, in his eyes anyway. He might even say this girl seems a little more foolish than Star even.
"Wonder Witch...yeah right..." Growl said softly to himself, before just rolled his eyes. "Next thing I know, she's telling me that she's friends with a lot of elves or something...like I'll ever hear that..."
"Funny you should mention that..."
Growl quickly looks to the left, seeing Wendalyn standing there in the same exact spot that he saw her last time. He just stood there, eyes widened. His emotions were a mix of surprise, fear, and disbelief. He wanted to believe that what he was seeing was some sort of joke, or something that completely slipped by him, but this...this was far from anything but a joke to Growl, this was real. This Wendalyn girl really did just suddenly appear right next to him, in the same exact spot.
"What...you...you were just..." Growl said, pointing at her, feeling completely at a lost for words. Wendalyn just smiled at the male ninja, before patting him on the head.
"I'm magic, remember? I told you, and I showed you." Wendalyn said. "Your welcome." Wendalyn walks off to the next room again, leaving Growl completely dumbfounded by what he had just witnessed.
