Chapter Seventeen

She knew that Tommy was not going to like the answers that she had found. She knew that it was going to lead to more questions. She knew that he was going to feel betrayed when she told him where the Green Dragon Crescent Blade was located. She knew that he was not going to want her to go with him and she was also sure that this was not a solo mission.

She puttered around and fixed her breakfast. She had found a very limited number of foods did not make her sick this early in the morning and she preferred her day started without throwing up. She wondered what he would want to eat. She wondered how his stomach would handle food after the last two months. She had noticed how much weight he was losing while he was in the coma, but she hoped that she had done enough to keep him ready for what was next.

"Good Morning," Tommy whispered as she realized he had entered the room and he gave her a quick hug. She had not realized how much she missed that. She had not realized that she had already started craving his touch before all of this happened. "Is this to not mess up my stomach?"

"No, it's to keep mine in check," Kim replied and she looked down at the oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit. She watched as he barely nodded and then fixed himself a similar bowl. She knew he did not enjoy this food and she appreciated that he was not reaching for bacon at the moment. "You should sit down- I've got a bit to fill you in on."

"Okay," Tommy muttered and she watched as he settled himself across from her at the tiny table. The Command Center had not re-accommodated Tommy being awake when it came to the kitchen and multiple other areas. Now that she thought about it though, the close quarters were welcome and the Command Center was likely to just be providing what he could stand right now. As his strength grew- it would provide other things as well. "What have you found?"

"The Command Center was right. The Green Dragon Crescent Blade was in our repository of weapons. I did a bit of research before I started hunting for it- I just wanted to know what we were getting ourselves in to. It seems to be a weapon that originated in the Far East- I was not able to really pinpoint a country. On the ranger side of things, it does appear to be a powerful ranger weapon that was lost through time. Alpha made some notes about where he suspected that it was located and what he suspected that it could do. His suspicions weren't far off from what the Command Center said about it and what it could do. And from what I can tell-you should be able to wield it. I still don't know a ton about the rangers of old, but I do know you. And I know that you more than meet the criteria that I've been able to find to be able to utilize the weapon," Kim rambled and she steeled herself for what he was going to ask next. She knew what was coming. She just hoped she could deliver the news in a kind manner.

"Where is it?" Tommy asked and she clenched her fists before reaching out to hold his hands. She needed to be able to really feel how this news affected him. "Kimberly…"

"I've checked every day since I found it. I hoped at first that it was a fluke, but it has been consistent. The blade is on Aquitar," Kim forced out and she felt the punch to her gut that she had felt every time that she thought about it. There was no way that Billy did not know that the weapon happened to be on the planet that he lived on. There was absolutely a way that he had excluded that information in their previous conversation. "And no- I have not talked to Billy. It's best we both confront him."

"So he has the one weapon that could end this and he did nothing," Tommy whispered and Kim shrugged. She was not sure that Billy possessed it, but she was fairly sure that he knew the weapon was on Aquitar. "How could he not have it?"

"He doesn't meet the criteria to be able to possess it. He's not human. Neither are the people that live on Aquitar, but they are rangers. From what I found- it cannot be possessed by a Guardian. There was a lot more data there once I talked with the Command Center. I'm pretty sure the Command Center arranged that," Kim stated and she let out a sigh. How were they going to do this? How were they going to convince the Aquitarians to allow them to come to their planet to take that weapon? To save themselves. "I'm not sure he'll be of any help."

"He's basically proven that he is unwilling to help- do you think he'll stop us from coming to Aquitar?" Tommy asked and she shrugged. She would do a lot to save her own brother, but if he had crossed this many lines- she was not sure that she would still fight to save him. It seemed like that did not matter to Billy. "Should we call today?"

"It's been nearly three months- I've managed to keep both of us employed, but I don't think we should waste any time if we can help it," Kim responded as she pulled herself back together. She had allowed herself to not be completely together last night. She knew that she couldn't have another moment like that until they at least had a plan. "Finish breakfast. I've got to go shoot my spotlight for tomorrow."

"Your what?" Tommy asked as she smirked. She obviously had not explained to him that she had found a way to continue work.

"Spotlight- for tomorrow's morning episode. I've managed to keep my job by being able to shoot some stuff from here. It'll be twenty minutes, tops," Kim explained as she stood up and she watched as he realized that she was in her professional attire. She chuckled as she remembered that tired Tommy was just not observant. Tired Tommy was a lot of things that made her smile. "Seriously, Tommy- eat. You're going to need your strength."
