Series 3, Episode 7, pt 2 ~ House of Pi

"Are you crazy, Eddie?!" KT groaned as she and Camilla followed on behind Eddie, the three following Victor to this secret meeting. "I can't believe we are just following him." this last comment was more to Camilla than the boy stealing ahead of them.

Camilla looped her arms in KT's, "its part of the Anum Academy charm... crazy is just our base level."

"Shhh!" Eddie hissed at the pair as they caught up with him before pointing to a clearing in the woods near a fallen tree. Camilla smiling slightly at the sight. It was were Sibuna had been formed. Though instead of a bin being on fire, Victor was stood alone in the clearing. The girl took cover behind a tree and peeped out, confused as to what her mentor was up too. Eddie and KT popped their heads out from behind the tree they were hiding behind as Miss Denby entered the clearing.

"Denby!" Eddie hissed to his friends.

"We can see that!" Camilla hissed back at him before focusing back on the adults a frown on her face as a third person appeared in the clearing. Their back to them so they couldn't see who it was.

"who's the other guy?" Eddie asked the pair.

"I can't see..." KT whispered to him apologetically.

"Your charms didn't work on Trudy after all!" Denby belittled Victor causing Camilla to shake her head. Victor couldn't be working for the bad guy. For the tank woman. He just couldn't.

Victor didn't help with his answer of, "may I remind you that the date was not my ridiculous idea? Now she'll never admit to having the parcel."

Camilla had to cover her mouth to stop the gasp from leaving it. This was all to do with the bloody bracelet!

"Victor, we're running out of time!" Denby argued with him. "the bracelet can only be used when everything is a lined, you know that!"

"guy's I'm going closer..." Eddie whispered to the pair, knowing Camilla wouldn't argue with him this time. The girl was too busy trying to mentally come up with some excuse as to why Victor wasn't a bad guy despite the evidence being in front of her this time.

Eddie raced forward, and the two girls glanced to one another before they did the same. Eddie and KT diving behind a tree and Camilla diving behind the one opposite them. Her foot stepping on a twig and snapping it, causing all three teens to freeze.

KT took a deep breath before popping her head out from behind the tree, her eyes widening as she took in the sight of who the third man was. Her eyes looking to Eddie in shock. It couldn't be possible.

"What?!" Camilla hissed to the girl seeing her reaction.

"What did you see?" Eddie also asked looking to KT. Both Osirian and Protector trying to figure out what had freaked the girl out so much.

KT just shook her head, looking to Eddie with sad eyes.

The American boy glanced to the small girl hiding behind the tree opposite them to see her gesture her head to the scene. They would look together. He nodded his head and crept out to see the adults as Camilla did.

However, as he did, he finally understood why KT reacted as she did.

With Denby and Victor stood his dad. Mr Sweet.

Eddie fell back against the tree in shock. "Dad?"

"Oh, shit..." was Camilla's only response, though something in her tone told Eddie she wasn't surprised by the new information.

Eddie rushed away from the scene in the direction of the main school. Camilla glancing at KT for a second before rushing after the boy, hearing the American girls' footsteps behind her.

"Jerk face!" Camilla hissed Eddie exited the woods, the sounds of the younger years laughing outside the school enjoying their evening on the ground filling their ears. "Eddie!"

Thankfully the boy slowed down his pace at her call's giving KT and Camilla time to catch up with him. Camilla racing to one side of him and grabbing his hand, squeezing it softly getting the smallest of sad smiles from the boy as he glanced to his sister, knowing there was nothing to be said between the pair, as KT raced to his other side.

"Eddie," she gasped a little out of breath, from running after the Magical pair, "I am so sorry about your dad. Are you okay?"

Camilla snorted at the girl's question because it was a rather stupid question. Of course, he was not okay. Camilla knew he would only get worse when he found out about the little secret society Eric Sweet had been in 2 years ago.

Eddie shook his head at KT question as he led the girls into the school's main courtyard, all of them seeing Camilla's car in the family parking spot. "Why?" he asked after a second looking at the girls, "you've met my dad. He's Mr Boring UK."

Camilla pulled a face, really regretting having forgotten to have told Eddie about his dads once extra circular activity.

"I know," KT agreed with the boy, "but sometimes people are not what they seem. Look at Cam, she doesn't look it, but she is one of the scariest people I know."

"Awww," Camilla couldn't help but grin looking to KT, "thank you!"

"NO!" Eddie stopped, wrenching his hand out of Camilla's and turning to look at the two girls. "You don't know. All right? Whatever Denby's up too, my dad has no idea."

"Well..." Camilla started with a sigh.

"Cam. No!" Eddie argued, "just drop it, okay?" with that he walked off, causing KT to groan.

Camilla looked to the girl and sighed, "give him some time... he'll be fine." KT nodded her head and allowed Camilla to pull her back to the house. Both girls hoping Camilla's words where true.

Joy was starting to hate Mara's pushing with the whole Fabian thing. She would ask the boy out in her own time. She had promised that. But as the girl was not letting up all through breakfast and their double Social Studies class, so she agreed she'd do so whenever she saw Fabian next. Of course, as the pair wandered through the student lounge who was sat there working away on the Sibuna clue but Fabian.

Mara squealing softly before pushing Joy towards the boy, before running from the room.

Joy took a deep breath before sitting down in the chair beside Fabian, "Hey..."

Fabian looked up at Joy's voice and gave her a smile, "Hey! Oh, I spoke to my Uncle Abe, and he sent me some recipes of more Egyptian food we could do!" he told the girl, putting down his notebook and rummage through his rucksack to find the papers his uncle had handed him. "although, it is mostly figs, seeds and grains..." he pulled a face before laughing.

Joy joined in with the laughter, adding "sounds like Willow's lunch..." This caused Fabian to let out a bark of a laugh nodding his head at the girl's comment. Joy smiled at him and decided to just go for it, "listen..." she waited until Fabian looked at her with a smile, "about what you said... about missing," she gestured between them, "us."

Fabian bashfully smiled and shook his head, "I know. Sentimental, gushy... Cam's always telling me I'm too soppy for my own good. That's pretty much why I'm single." He joked slightly.

"Maybe you shouldn't be."

Joy's words caused Fabian to look at her, confused.

"The time feels right, doesn't it?" Joy continued, you know, for...for me and you to make go at things. That's if you want to go out with me."

Fabian couldn't help but feel the guilt wash over him as he knew what he was about to do. As much as he liked Joy and the pair had a special friendship that he cherished, he never saw her in that way. Hell after Nina, he couldn't see any girl in that way. As if what he had had with Nina had been fated and foretold... and epic love that could never be unlearned or unloved. "No..." the word was harsh coming out his mouth, but the girl's sudden question took him by surprise. He saw the pain flash across her face and tried to explain, "Joy... when I said 'us', I was talking about our friendship. You know, you were my first friend here. The first person who saw me as more than Camilla's nerdy twin... I didn't mean – I mean, I'm sorry I gave you the impression..."

Joy nodded, understanding what he meant as his words got more and more muddled up in his panic to explain his headspace. The girl's eyes watering slightly as she suddenly became very interested in her nail polish.

"I'm sorry," Fabian's words were sincere, raw and true. If it wasn't for whatever was pulling him to Nina and what they still could have one day. He might have given Joy's offer a go. But he knew that wasn't fair on his best friend. She didn't deserve to be someones back up, his second choice. It was hard, but if hurting her now meant that later she could be someone's only choice, it was a risk on their friendship he had to take.

Joy shook her head and gave him a tight smile, "no, no, no... don't be." She told him, both of them hearing the pain in her tone, "I'm fine. Just me being silly. Just forget I said anything." She told him before jumping to her feet and rushing from the room.

Fabian watching her go before letting out a groan. He did not handle that well at all. He knew what he wanted to say, but his brain and his mouth didn't want to cooperate. A classic case of 'boy syndrome' as Camilla had dubbed the sensation once after he had ranted to her about this occurrence when he was trying to ask out Nina. His eye caught Willow's the girl giving him a glare before rushing off after Joy, causing Fabian to look a little perplexed.

"Excuse me! Excuse me, everyone!"

Camilla turned instantly at the sound of Jerome's voice, before rolling her eyes as she saw Amber smirk at her from the reflection in her locker. Now was not the time for Amber to remind her once again she was head over heels for a boy who didn't want her. Instead, she focused on whatever huge announcement Jerome clearly was very excited about, to the point he was shouting down the hallways.

"Can I have your attention please?!" Jerome called looking particularly at the gaggle of Anubis girls who were stood around Amber, Camilla, Patricia and Joy's lockers. "Now, I know I've been somewhat slow off the mark in the business competition."

The girls all looked to one another and rolled their eyes. Mara and Camilla even glancing to one another and sharing a somewhat bemused look because the real competition was between them... and it had nothing really to do with the business studies competition.

"That's an understatement," Mara commented Camilla humming in agreement as she shut her locker, Amber instantly looping her arm in Camilla's as they turned to look at Jerome.

Jerome's jaw clutched slightly as he saw and heard the small agreement between the two girls, "But... I can today announce, that I am firmly, back in the running... As I give to you... Alfrido and his Amazing hot dogs!" with this call the boy raised his arms to the hallway doors.

They all turned to see a very unhappy looking Alfie walk in, in a pluto costume, holding a hotdog in one hand and a Bluetooth speaker in another. Laughter filling the hallway as everyone took in Alfie in the costume.

"Alfido, A.K.A. Hot Doggy Dogg," Alfie said in a monotone voice, looking to Amber and Camilla grateful to see they were laughing at him but sending him slightly sympathetic looks. Only Jerome could talk him into something so ridiculous as this, and even then he knew it was for nothing. Camilla was going to win the business project completion... she had magic on her side and Amber!

Camilla looked to Jerome and raised an eyebrow, "is that the best you could come up with?" she couldn't help but ask the boy, this time it was Mara's turn to nod her head in agreement with Camilla's question. "looks like this competition is just between us Mara."

"looks like it," Mara agreed, "May the best woman win..."

"I plan on it." Camilla smiled widely causing a dirty look to cross Mara's face.

Jerome quickly interrupted as Mara opened her mouth to retort back. "Girls... with toppings, and sauce... this is a no-brainer idea!" he argued before looking to Alfie, "come on Alfido... Walkies!"

Alfie groaned before following on after Jerome. How did he manage to get himself talked into stupid situations like this?

Eddie had been off all day, and Camilla and KT were the only two to know why – well Amber knew too, but Camilla didn't keep secrets from the girl, so that didn't count.

He was avoiding everyone, and thankfully Camilla wasn't forcing him to interact. He knew she would eventually – probably before the day was out – but at least she was giving him some time to sulk a little.

He was currently in the empty student lounge, having decided to skip art. He thought he was alone until an angelic, but rather annoying, a voice spoke up. "Ah... no KT. Aw, lover's tiff already?"

Eddie rolled his eyes. Why was the concept of having a female friend so hard for Patricia to see? Camilla had Alfie, and no one shipped them together. Plus he thought everyone thought he was dating Camilla anyways? Whatever the gossip was, he was clearly not caught up.

Patricia saw the eye roll and completely misinterpreted it, putting her hands in the air as if to surrender though the smirk told him she wasn't done with the teasing. It was his Yacker; she was never done with teasing. "Okay, raw nerve. Won't want to gloat" with that she went to move off.

But the words left his mouth before he could stop them, "Yacker, wait..." Patricia paused and turned back to him. Eddie moved over to her. Something about the recognition in Camilla's eyes at seeing his dad had him thinking. Maybe Sibuna knew more than they had told him already. There was only one way to find out. "you ever heard of my dad and Victor being in some weird bad guy club?"

"Well, duh!"

Eddie blinked at the words that left Patricia's mouth, "What?!"

"Come on. You must have known." Patricia told him, crossing her arms, "didn't the twins tell you?"

At this Amber and Fabian entered the room clearly having been sent out by the teacher from the weird assortment of objects in their arms (they were doing still life paintings in art and were having to create their scenes).

"Tell who what?" Fabian asked the pair as he heard the mention of 'The twins'.

Patricia's eyes widened as she realised Eddie hadn't been told.

However, Eddie looked at Fabian in shock, "Wait so you, and Cam, knew my dad was part of some secret society?"

Fabian looked guilty, "we didn't mention it because... well Victor told Camilla they disbanded. Its ancient history."

"Yeah, Eddie, we didn't mean to-" Amber added standing up for her best friend, knowing Eddie would rage out on Camilla for not telling him.

"Amber just Don't!" he interrupted her, silencing her with a raised hand. He looked around at the three Sibuna's in the room with disgust, how could they not tell him something so important about his dad. "okay... just don't." with that, he stormed from the room.

Amber sighed slightly, "we need to warn Camilla, Eddie is either going to crash or implode... either way she's the only one who can handle this."

Fabian looked to Patricia, who had an equally guilty look on her face. They had honestly thought they didn't need to tell Eddie about his dad's history. They didn't want to ruin the relationship the men had formed with something that had happened so long ago.

Alfie didn't understand why Amber had asked him to meet in the living room after school, but like the doting boyfriend he was, he did what he was told.

He paused slightly in the doorway of the living room as he pulled his green jacket on. A small smile flitting on his face as he watched Amber in the room. She was nervous he could tell, not from the pacing – an annoying habit the Rutter's had installed in all of the Sibuna's – but from the way she kept adjusting her jacket which they both knew was perfectly tailored (by her) to fit her just so and didn't need the constant adjustments of the sleeves.

Amber was beautiful, not just in looks – because that was obvious – but as a person inside and out, and he didn't know how much longer he would have her so he kept drinking in her beauty whenever he could. Admiring her for her strength and compassion as well as her unflinching loyalty to her friends. Especially Camilla. A small smile flit onto his face as he thought about the friendship that had formed between his two favourite girls (don't tell his mother that). He had been best friends with Camilla since Halloween when they were 12, but over the years he had come to release there were just somethings as a male he couldn't quite understand or emotionally help her with as much as he liked. So, when Amber and Camilla became friends, it was a small blessing for both of them. Amber had never really had someone at Amun Academy who wanted to be her friend because of who she was... most people wanted to befriend her for the popularity statues. However, Camilla didn't care for that – she never had. She saw Amber as Amber. As the girl who cried at almost every movie – happy or sad endings. The girl who snorts laughed in private instead of the dainty one she had with everyone else. The girl who adored fashion because it was her way to express herself and make her own mark on the world. Camilla simply saw just Amber and loved her too as much as Amber saw Camilla as just that; Camilla. Not one half of The Twins. Not as some epic magic-user. But as the girl who had become her human diary, her best friend, her sister. One of the world people she could be unapologetically herself, and the girl would still love her.

"Alfie?"

Amber's voice cut through Alfie's thoughts and the boy looked up and met the blue eyes which shone with love and adoration whenever they found his, causing a grin to form on his own face. He would never quite understand what he had done to cause Amber to fall for him, but he would work hard every day of his life to make sure she was happy and laughing and knowing she was loved. The girl deserved the best, and he would fight every god the twins knew about single headedly if he needed too, to give her that.

"You asked for me," he smiled as he took her outstretched hand.

"I wanted you to be the first to see it, I need – your opinion means the most," Amber told him, softly as she pulled him to the couch where a large dress box was sat. she lifted the lid and showed him what was inside. "so, what do you think?" the question was soft. Alfie glanced up from the box to see Amber biting the inside of her cheek nervously.

"it's amazing," he told her honestly because what she was presenting him was utterly amazing. The brainchild of Amber and Camilla, and something the world could not have thought up. Whenever the pair got out into the real world, the world would be in for a shock.

His words were rewarded with a breath-taking smile as Amber let go of the breath she had been holding whilst Alfie looked over her work. She didn't know why, but his opinion mattered more to her than her dads did – at least once she had finished the piece. She had offered this opinion up to Camilla who simply smiled at her before telling her that it was because though her dad was her dad, Alfie was the man she was in love with, and his opinion mattered because she saw her future with him. Amber had never thought of it that way before; but now with Alfie beside her looking at her work, she didn't hate the idea of having Alfie has her life partner, causing her to smile and laugh when the work got to tough and holding her hand with pride when she accomplished something. In all honesty, she didn't think anyone else could step up into the role she had in mind for a future husband other than Alfie – though that would be many many years away.

"you really want to go to fashion school, don't you?" Alfie's question was laced with sadness, and Amber knew why, giving him a small, sad smile. Fashion school was 3309 miles away from Amun Academy (they had looked it up) it was a long way for a relationship to work out.

"I've been told I need to share my vision with more people than Amun Academy," Amber told him softly. Answering his question in a roundabout way as the pair shared a bittersweet smile.

"Cam and I have made a discovery!" Fabian's shout as he ran into the room, with Patricia breaking up the Amfie moment. "my room, now!" he told the pair.

Amber and Alfie's smiles broke into genuine ones of happiness as Amber put the lid back on the charmed box (only she and Camilla could open it) before grabbing Alfie's hand, the pair running after Fabian.

"Okay!" Fabian started as the Sibuna's burst into his room, to see Camilla on his bed books in front of her. Clearly, she had been helping her brother out. "so, I found some old books in the antechamber, and you know how we thought this was the symbol for a house?" Fabian pointed to his notebook where the pi symbol was as Alfie, Amber and Patricia gathered around his bed, Joy staying back by the door watching them all. "well, I realised something. That symbol only appears before this one." He pulled the clue sheet towards him and pointed to the square next to the pi symbol. It was of a building or gate of sorts.

"looks a little like a sandcastle..." Patricia couldn't help but comment as she titled her head a little looking at the new symbol Fabian was focusing on.

"Almost," Fabian agreed with her, before pulling one of Robert's diaries towards him, the page already open from where he had made his breakthrough – thanking his uncle Jasper once again in his mind for the man suggesting he checked back in Roberts archive. The man would be the only one who would have more information than the Rutter family and of course he helped in cracking the code.

"you see, The Ancient Egyptians," Camilla spoke up looking at them all, "they used to build two big towers outside of towns. Like a gateway to the city."

"Sooo," Amber spoke up looking to her best friend, "it's a gateway to the city and a house?"

The twins nodded their heads at the girl, with bright smiles.

"I'm missing the part about your breakthrough," Patricia pipped up. It was clear the twins had made a leap the rest of them hadn't.

Fabian sighed, "if you shorten gateway too gate..."

"Gate... gate... house..." Amber started saying out loud until they all gasped finally clicking onto what the twins had figured out.

"Gatehouse!"

"Ding ding ding!" Camilla couldn't help but laugh, reaching a hand over to high five Alfie.

"a parcel arrives for Victor," Fabian glanced to Camilla apologetically before continuing, "mentioning a gatehouse."

"The one Miss Denby lives in." Amber pointed out.

Camilla's eyes widened her mind going to the meeting of Victor and Denby in the woods. What was the chances of this all being connected to the creepy tank man? From the look, Amber was giving Camilla, the blonde was thinking the same thing. Not that they could tell any of the other Sibuna's.

"I say if we want to find out what this is for." Fabian plucked the bracelet from Camilla's hands and held it up, "I say that's where we go."

Patricia and Alfie nodded at Fabian, missing the looks shared between Amber and Camilla. The two girls knowing what exactly was lurking in that house, both of them knowing they had to do everything they could to protect their friends from it. It looked like Camilla was going back on a stakeout of the gatehouse.

Camilla looked up at the looming sandstone building that was the gatehouse with disgust. Knowing the building probably held more secrets in it that knowing her luck, she would discover.

They followed Camilla's led, jumping over the wall and sneaking towards the large curved entrance where Miss Denby's front door was.

"Okay," Fabian gasped as they stopped running, "knock on the door; if we hear her coming, we run." He told Alfie and the rest of the gang.

Camilla looking at the door planal then back to Amber, the two girls knowing the small girl knew the code, but they couldn't give the game away – no one else knew of her KT and Eddie's little adventure.

"Eh... why do I have to knock on the door?" Alfie asked in a high-pitched voice.

"Just..."

Patricia rolled her eyes and pulled Fabian away, causing him to rub his shoulder in pain as she loudly knocked on the dark wood door.

They all paused. Waiting to hear signs of life.

Nothing.

Patricia grabbed the ornate door handle and tried to turn it but nothing, "its locked!" she groaned.

"Okay, then we find another way in." Fabian looked at the building before looking at Camilla. "its gotta be like the manor, right? All these old buildings are like that."

"a secret entrance really Fabby?" Camilla scoffed.

Fabian grinned at her sister excitedly, "only one way to find out. Let check around the side."

Camilla groaned slightly as Fabian dashed off before following him. Alfie and Amber on their heels. The four jumping over the wall once again to scope out the sides of the house.

Joy and Patricia, however, hung back. Well, more Joy hung back, and Patricia noticed, pausing to look to her friend. "Joy?"

"I just forgot I've got an essay to do..." Joy lied through her teeth, the two girls both hearing the lie as it hung between them, but Patricia let Joy sneak away. She'd talk to her about what was wrong when her friend was ready to talk.

Fabian groaned slightly as they reached the side of the house, pushing ivy back hoping there would be something. One of his favourite things about their manor home was all the old secret passages – it reminded him of tombs. He swore Frobisher -Smythe would have the same thing built in his grounds too, especially if the tunnels last year where anything to go by.

"Hey, guys..." Amber's voice was heard from a little way away, "isnt this one of those getting down to the basement thingies?"

"Could be..." Alfie mumbled as Patricia, Camilla and Fabian rushed over to them to see the old rusted over Cellar access door.

Fabian pulled on the lock and nothing, before turning to his twin. "Little help please."

Camilla rolled her eyes and moved next to her brother, looking at the door before realising what the issue was... it was a push door Fabian was pulling. With that, the girl took the handle from him and pushed on it with all she had. The doors creaking but giving away with a small fight.

"Always knew Camilla was the stronger twin!" Patricia teased as Camilla stumbled a little looking at the black darkness on the other side of the door.

"Shall we do this then?" Camilla asked them all nervously, before cautiously taking the first tentative steps into the darkness. All of the Sibuna's slightly grateful of her rule that she walked into places first at that moment, though that didn't mean they'd let the young Protector go into the darkness alone. They were in this together, during thick and thin. That was part of being Sibuna. So into the darkness, they went, all of them unsure of what they were getting themselves into.

The house was abnormally quiet, and for once, Joy relished in the fact everyone was away. Running to her room and allowing her heart to break loudly and freely. That was until her door was pushed open and Willow's innocent, sweet face popped around it. Concern filling her features instantly.

"Joy?" the strawberry blonde whispered, watching the girl turn her back to her wiping at her face as she tried to hide her tears. "are you alright?"

"Yeah..." Joy whispered, not trusting her voice, "why wouldn't I be?"

Willow tentatively walked into the room, "I heard you and Fabian earlier. If you need somebody to talk to –"

"Willow," Joy interrupted the girl, knowing her intentions where sweet but the last thing she needed right then was to talk. She just needed to let the tears flow and then fix her heart from there. "you really think I care what Fabian thinks?"

"you two are best friends, right?"

"best friends..." Joy repeated the word shaking her head before looking at the girl, "what are you doing here, anyway? You don't even live here."

"Fate brought me here, silly," Willow told her optimistically, "you're a friend in need, and I don't normally question where fate guides me. I just go with its flow."

"Great..." Joy whispered, "can you flow back out and leave me alone now, please?" not giving the girl an option she turned and fell back onto her bed, allowing the tears to fall once again. Hearing the soft click of the bedroom door telling her Willow had left.

With an ease that nobody but Amber picked up on Camilla led the Sibuna's to the main reception area of the Gatehouse. Watching her friends and brother's amazed faces with a slight bemusement as she leant on the oak bannister, arms crossed, waiting for whatever their next move was to be.

"I hate this place..." Camilla murmured slightly, watching her brother move into the middle of the room looking up to the balcony above.

"Up there!" he pointed up, and they all followed his gaze. "The Sun and the Moon..."

Camilla squinted and pulled a face as her eyes fell on the engraved detailing that was small but on the bottom of the railing on the landing.

"same as the notes from the parcel..." Amber whispered.

Fabian grabbed the note in question and unravelled it, "okay, look for symbols. Anything weird."

Amber turned to Camilla eyes wide at the mention of weird and the girl shook her head, before she turned to look interestingly at the staircase she was stood on, Amber at her feel as the two slowly wandered up the stairs together maybe they'd find something in the woman's study. Her fellow Sibuna's spreading out searching the rest of the house.

Outside the gatehouse, unknown to them all, Miss Denby, Victor and Eric Sweet were meeting up. "no, no. I am sure Edison doesn't know anything." Mr Sweet informed the two, "but with the date so close, I think it's best that we check everything."

Miss Denby could read between the lines and turned to Mr Sweet unamused. "you mean, you don't think I've done my job."

The two men looked to one another but didn't deny the fact.

Miss Denby sighed and turned to look at her door, covering the keypad as she pressed the password in.

Inside the house Fabian, Alfie and Patricia froze. All of them hearing the beeping of the electric lock. "It's Denby!" Fabian hissed at them in alarm.

They all looked wide-eyed as a loud lock could be heard unlocking.

"Okay, new plan... Leg it!" Alfie hissed before rushing to the cellar door. Fabian and Patricia on his heels. All of them not realising two girls weren't following them as they had wandered upstairs to the room they knew would have information in it.

Camilla and Amber turned as they heard footsteps on the stairs, both of them looking to one another in fear. It didn't sound like Fabian, Alfie and Patricia the footfall was much heavier.

"Denby..." Camilla whispered in realisation before she looked around for a hiding spot, her eyes falling on Miss Denby's desk. It would be a tight squeeze, but with the desk chair in the way, the girls could hide and see what the woman was doing.

The two girls had just hidden under it as the three adults walked into the room. Miss Denby leading them to the organ before pressing an F flat on it, revealing the door which the two girls already knew about. Camilla's frowned as she watched Victor look on in interest. What was he playing at?! He was... she didn't want to think of him as evil. She couldn't; he was her Victor!

"You know, this really isnt necessary." Denby turned to the men holding up her sun key – the twin of KT moon one.

"We want to see the sleeper."

Camilla's world crashed around her as Victor spoke those words. He knew of the man in the tank. He was up to something. She hated it, but she would have to stop him for once. she would use every trick he had ever taught her to do so...

From next to her Amber mouthed, "the sleeper?" repeating Victor's words watching as Denby unlocked the door and the three adults slipped up into the hidden room above.

The moment they were out of sight, Camilla pushed the chair out of the way and ran to the hidden door that had been left open.

"Cam!" Amber pleaded with her.

"I need to know he's still on our side," Camilla looked to Amber. The blonde saw the wetness in them. Camilla needed to know she wasn't going to be hurt by another adult she trusted.

Amber stepped forward and took Camilla's hand. "then we do it together." She whispered, the two girls turning to face the door both taking a steadying breath before sneaking up after the adults. Unsure of what answers they were about to find.
