Emperor Belos watches as the Portal starts to charge up. He looked at Lilith.
"Today is the day. Only once every nine hundred years, is the barrier between dimensions weakened enough to bring an army to the Human Realm. Today will go down in history, Lilith."
"Yes, it will, Father." Lilith said.
They turned their attention to the door when they heard a commotion. Eda, in her Emperor Guard disguise, came in. Staff in one hand, Luz, being grabbed by her capes hood, in the other. Luz was thrashing her feet in attempt to get out of her grasp.
"Let go of me!" Luz said.
Emperor Belos walked over to her and put a finger under her chin. He raised her head up a little.
"I knew you'd come. You think you were clever, but you aren't."
Luz spit at him. He used his cape to wipe it off and looked at her.
"I'm glad you're here. You get a front row seat to the conquest of your dimension."
"If you think I'll let you do this then you are mistaken!" Luz said.
Belos back handed her and she was sent to the floor. It took everything in Eda to prevent her from breaking her cover.
"You don't understand, I'm a very understanding man. Join me, you'll be treated like royalty. I'll even give you a witch's heart. Isn't that your dream? To be a witch."
"I will never join you! You evil, tyrannical, dictator!"
Belos raised his staff and was about to hurt Luz with it when he stopped.
"The Titan has told me to spare you. No doubt he wishes to see you punished more. He also told me that the Owl Lady is in this castle as well. You." He said pointing at Eda, "Hold the human. The rest of you go search for her."
The guards left the room and Belos looked back at the portal.
"The portal is 50% charged. Soon, everything will be set in place."
Luz looked at Eda and then at Lilith. She nodded. It was time. Eda spun her staff and sent a fire spell at her dad. It hit Belos hard in the mask, breaking it off. Eda removed her mask and smirked.
"Still as ugly as you were all those years ago." Eda said.
"Edalyn." Belos growled.
Luz saw his face for the first time. Shaggy bright orange hair, golden eyes, and pale skin. Practically a male version of Eda. Luz guessed Lilith got her looks from her mom.
"Well, dad, I have to say, I'm hurt. Here I am after almost thirty years and you don't even throw a party! Do you know how many birthday's you've missed?" Eda said with a mock accusatory tone.
Belos stood up and gripped his staff. He was about to attack Eda when a spell hit him from behind.
"Lilith?! You dare betray me?!"
"I'm not betraying you; I'm saving the Isles." Lilith said.
The sister's rushed him and hit him with both their staffs. He went flying into a wall and fell to a knee. He raised his head and smiled.
"You think that can stop me?" He said.
He looked at the portal as if they had fallen victim to a trap. The portal seemed to have a power surge and Eda and Lilith were right in the way of it. The blast of energy that was released sent them to the other side of the room with a hard thud. Lilith was knocked out, while Eda tried to get up with her shaky arms before she too fell unconscious. Luz ran over to Eda and tried to wake her up.
"Eda! Eda, wake up!" Luz said, shaking Eda.
"Shame, they could've been so powerful at my side." He looked at Luz, "As your small human brain just saw, as the portal gets stronger it releases power surges. Which I managed to lure them into."
Luz got up and started to walk backwards as he walked closer. Luz pulled out her knife and held it out at him. He just smirked.
"And I just did the same to you." He said.
Luz looked and saw the portal release another power surge and she was in the line of fire.
