Chapter 13: Obsidian's home

"This waaay!~" Obsidian sang as he trotted through the center of the connecting bridges and hummed a delighted melody all the while. Y/N, Sesshomaru, Rin, and Jaken all followed behind him. Both Y/N and Rin were staring in awe at the sight around them, seeing all of the yokai with wings soaring high above and occasionally would spot a few near the sides of the bridges, flying up to the center from below. For a second Y/N could've sworn she saw Sebastian from black butler! Sadly she was mistaken...because it was ironically a crow demon that looked nothing like Sebastian's true form. not to mention he's not Japanese, or at least she doesn't think so...

As they sauntered down the ridiculously long staircase, they stayed in a single line as to not bump into any scaling yokai who climbed up. "How far is your house...?" Sesshomaru questioned the batman and glared daggers at every demon that would eye Y/N and Rin with either hunger or suspicion.

"Hmhm, I live down in the ravine. So it'll be quite the walk! Unless you wish to skip the quick tour of a piece of the city and fly there,~" Obi replied and imagined carrying Y/N, giggling at his own thoughts. He only received a low grumble from the lordship and unknown to Obsidian, he was recieving death glares from him that would kill anyone if looks were able to murder people.

"No, I want a look around! I've never seen this place before and it looks like it might be a maze. I mean really, look how many roads, streets, alleyways, and other paths there are around all of those houses down there! Not to mention there's even houses up on ledges and cliffs! This place is like a ginormous mountain of homes!" Y/N gasped after saying that and her alien eyes wavered in amaze, as she looked down over the side of the stone staircase.

"Alright, then it's settled!" Obi chirped and was about to walk fast until he bumped into someone, making him stumble back, pressing against Sesshomaru by accident. "Oh, pardon-" before he could finish, the person overran him.

"Brother? So, you finally came back?" A man with the same colored hair but had a much longer length that went down past his neck, spoke. Obi knew that voice from anywhere, it was his older brother.

"Onyx, is that you? Hmhm, of course, I came back. I'm here with our land's lordship and his companions.~" Obi chirped, giggled faintly and smiled his signature grin. Y/N lifted a brow in confusion, but once she heard him say brother she sort of just shrunk down and hid behind Sessho.

"Dear lord...please, OH PLEASE I HOPE ONYX ISN'T A CREEP OR A PERVERT! I'D SLAP SOMEBODY IF HE WAS! Preferably the person who's writing this story of mine..." Y/N mentally panicked then sweatdropped with annoyance in her voice, at the last sentence.

"A human child and a-" Onyx paused for a moment and blinked, tilting his head. He had the same colored wings as Obsidian but, much darker and fur was on the tops of them. He looked feminine, almost as if he were royal and took good care of his appearance. His eyes were black and he had a normal mouth that was smirking constantly like Obi, well, unlike Obi who's mouth is a huge Sebastian rip-off.~ "...An odd female...?" he finished and smelled her scent; it was an odd mixture, human combined with a strange foreign scent and...something rather alluring?

"Yes, lord Sesshomaru, his group and I are going to go to my house. Deeming it safest that way considering the amount of yokai living in this city and the fact that some unknown person wants to meet-" Before Obsidian could finish, Sesshomaru grasped his shoulder and dug his nails in it, making him wince; that indicated for him to stop talking about their reasons for being here. "He's here to visit, he wanted a tour of the city since he hasn't been here before!~" he corrected himself and smiled at his brother, with a few light chuckles.

"If that's the case, then please, enjoy yourselves. Just be mindful of Rei Nago, he's not the best guy to get along with; and, knowing you, brother, you would get on his nerves purposefully," Onyx frowned and narrowed his eyes, glaring daggers at his little brother. "He's a yokai and an elve mixed but he's known to be very ruthless. Despite his gentle appearance, he has the personality of a very spoiled, arrogant Prince," he added, sighed and peeked over at Y/N with a friendly grin. "It's a pleasure to meet you. As said before, I'm Onyx, his older brother. We come from a royal family of bat demons and any friend of Obsidian's is a friend of mine." He gave a very pleasant introduction, a respectful bow, and that astonished Y/N due to thinking that he was the same as Obi.

"How...much older are you?" Y/N questioned, peeked around Sesshi hesitantly and stared at his black eyes in curiosity.

"Obsidian is two years younger than I am. We're both over five hundred years old," Onyx explained and smiled, soon his eyes trailed down at her neck and he frowned, narrowing his eyes.

Obi noticed this and chuckled, suddenly stepping in front of his view with that Sebastian smirk plastered. "I wouldn't recommend feeding, lord Sesshomaru and I would be quite furious.~" He warned, not once taking his arms out from beneath his folded wings.

"Ah, forgive me. I haven't eaten today, so perhaps I should go. It was a pleasure meeting you all, have a good day," Onyx bowed with a friendly smile and watched his brother and Y/N step aside, letting him pass as he walked up the stairs.

Y/N knitted her brows, seeing him pass her by on the other side of the steps and following him with her gaze. Once he passed her and was up at the top, they continued on their way on the stone staircase, which was made to zigzag all the way up and down. After they made it to the bottom, Obsidian led them through a market street where a lot of market stands lined up the sides

Children played around and stuck with their parents, salesmen kept hollering to advertise their goods, yokai adults trying to bargain with the salesmen, people flapping their wings as they flew above their heads to go who knows where and so much more! "This must be the marketing area! Wow, I've only ever seen places like these in movies and anime!" she exclaimed a little too loud with a big open smile and twinkling eyes, catching Sesshi's attention.

"Anime...movies...?" He was curious, his golden eyes moved down at the hybrid young woman and refused to drop his strict expression. Even Obsidian was curious, his pointed ears twitched and listened in.

"Uuuh... That's...gonna be hard to explain. Er, I'll...tell you later..." Y/N nervously scratched the back of her neck and chuckled faintly, whilst averting her eyes from the lordship. Awkwarrrrd... she dramatically whispered in her head.

"I want to know, I want to know! Tell us!" Rin chirped excitedly and hopped a couple times, her eyes glistening with glee. Y/N nearly froze in her spot, if she hadn't of clenched Sesshomaru's robes from behind to lead her the way. She could've sworn she felt her soul leave her body, who could blame her? Rin was absolutely adorable!

Just before Y/N could oblige to Rin's request and tell them all, the time had stopped. Everyone froze except her, Sesshomaru and their little group. "What's going on?" Slight panic began to rise in her and she looked around, everyone aside from Sesshomaru was frantically looking around in hope for an answer.

"The Time Corpse," Seshi spoke up and squinted his eyes. Suddenly, from thin air, she materialized and swung the little stopwatch from side to side. Soon she stopped and stared upon the group with her eyeless sockets.

"Y/N LN, refrain from telling anyone here in this city where you're from no matter what the cost. Informing your comrades about those two mentioned subjects will change the future in a negative way; and, do be wary of Rei Nago and Yogu Hanai. They are affiliated with each other, holding deep connections in which you must not involve yourself with. If he requests that you are to do him a harmless favor...refuse, no matter what," With that, she faded away and left everyone gasping in surprise, aside from Sesshi of course... That dog demon was as stoic as a London guard at the Queen's castle. (Just a figure of speech, I'm not shunning or insulting them! Sorry if it seems that way! D: )

Everything returned to normal, time continued and the whole group stood there in puzzlement. "So... That means no telling, right..." she said in more of a statement than a question and sighed.

"Aw... Okay..." Rin pouted and Y/N's heart broke at how let down she seemed. The young woman streamed comical tears and tugged on a tissue with her mouth, inside her head. I'm so sorry, Rin! Y/N exclaimed in her head, still having that teary-eyed animation. She wanted to tell at least Rin what anime and movies were, she's little so it'd be like Y/N was playing or teasing her. Like, telling a little story from a far away land and what was in that land. Why couldn't she at least do it that way?

Some minutes later, they were already through that mess of a market street and they were finally at his home. "It seems we're here!" He exclaimed and turned to face them all. Behind him was a fancy, long, pathway that led up to a several story house and a garden to its side as well a waterfall. The pathway had red wooden railing and the flooring on it was made of cobble. Y/N gawked at the sight, she expected Obsidian to be one of those types of people that had a creepy house, but it ended up being the exact opposite! The place was beautiful and gushing water from the waterfall nearby was soothing to her ears! She could only imagine all the stunts she could pull here, especially near the waterfall and in the garden! "Holy..." she began but cut herself off, too awestruck to even focus on anything else.

The building's color matched Obsidian and Oynx, it was bright red and surrounded by nature! Something bats would obviously prefer to live at... "Hmhm, do you like what you see?" Obi questioned with pride and turned sideways to view his home.

"As long as it will keep Y/N and Rin safe, I don't care... Y/N and Rin will sleep in the same room with me, so to not risk putting either of the two in danger," Sesshomaru answered and walked past the batman, making him pout like some child who wanted dessert but couldn't have any. Rin was giggling out of excitement and rushed up to Sesshi, clenching her tiny fist on his pant leg all the while gawking in awe at the house. Jaken humphed and crossed his arms, still carrying that staff of his.

"Honestly, I'd say it isn't anywhere good enough for my lord Sesshomaru!" The green bean huffed and grumbled, only to receive a death glare from the said lordship himself. Sessho wasn't complaining about the shelter, as long as Rin and Y/N were safe from everything he didn't feel the need to.

"Be glad we can stay here and not in some swamp, green bean..." Y/N sweatdropped and narrowed her eyes at the imp, really hating how picky he was... Once they got inside after walking up the path, she saw so many rooms and doors that it almost made her dizzy. She was given a grand tour of the house, well...most of it at least.

Everything was beautiful, there was even a square, roundabout balcony on top; everything was completely red, filled with fuedal era's fansy furniture and the rooms were kept clean. A red sliding door led to the garden, which was in a room where peopel gathered together and the beds were as good as what the feudal era could offer; it was breathtaking!

"When I go back to my world... I wanna save up for a place like this..." Y/N stared wide-eyed at the entire place after the whole tour. The master bedroom was at the very top of the house, she guessed that was where he slept. She earned a couple of stares her way, by his lordship and Obi. Rin was too busy playing in the garden near the long waterfall that streamed over a tall cliff. "Wait... What bedroom are we staying in?" she questioned, making Obsidian hum in thought then smile.

"Why not the second guest room? It's big enough to hold all three of you!" He chirped and giggled, then changed the subject. "So, did the message say where to meet this person at?" The batman asked Sesshomaru and tilted his head. They were all in the family room, where the two sliding doors were opened to reveal the garden area where Rin played. Y/N sat down on one of the cushions while Jaken and Obi did the same; Sesshi was the only one standing right now.

"They'll come to us... If the owner of that message was able to remain hidden among demons and other yokai in this city, then they can find us easily," Sesshomaru replied and went to lean against the wall with folded arms.

"Then, what about that Rei Nago guy? Where is he at? Wouldn't it be better if we knew, so that way we could avoid him?" Y/N questioned, every now and then hearing Rin's cute little giggles coming from the garden. Jaken joined her eventually, keeping watch over her just in case.

"I honestly have no idea, Y/N. My lord, do you possibly have any theories?~" Obi asked and glanced over at the stoic lordship, who only closed his eyes and stayed silent.

"If anything, Rei Nago would appear to us on his own. If he is half demon and elf, then he would be able to smell Rin and L/N nearby. We must keep our guard up, neither L/N or Rin can smell human, demon, or elven scents," Sesshi replied and cracked open an eye to view Rin splashing her hands in the water and on Jaken, causing the imp to grow furious and scold her. Obsidian kept staring at Y/N while Sesshi was busy paying attention to Rin. Pink tinted his cheeks and shade veiled over his face, giving his mischievous and creepy smile. That only made Y/N lift a brow in confusion. She questioned why in the world he was staring at her like that...

"Fair enough,~" Obsidian answered and walked over to a staircase where it led to the roundabout balcony. "Feel free to use the kitchen if needed, I won't mind at all." With that he left, leaving Sesshomaru and Y/N alone in the family room.

They both awkwardly stared at each other in silence. Her face started heating up when she noticed she was staring at him. She looked away quickly and nervously fidgeted in her seat, then fiddled with her fingers. "So..." she began, now messing with her fingernails. "If um... I'm going to need to take this new threat down..." she continued, pausing in mid-sentence. "Don't I need to train?" she finished, peeked over at him just enough so she could see his response and still felt that awkward sensation in the air.

He just stared into her eyes, it felt like he was staring right into her soul! She gulped and began to sweat, then started looking at everything else but him. Without warning, she heard shuffling next to her and glanced his way, only to grow surprised when she saw him sitting beside her.

Her heart started racing ninety miles per hour now and her face lit up even redder. "Yes, no?" she asked, hoping to hear at least a reply from the man.

Sesshi leaned closer to her and brought his nose to her neck, making her go stiff in the process. Wide eyes, a frown, body as stiff as a statue and face fifty shades of red was evident. She felt him sniffing her neck with closed eyes and hesitated to glance at him from her peripherals, but when she did, she leaned away to the side hysterically. "Do I stink...?" she asked rather bluntly and sweatdropped with those giant wide eyes.

"You have the scent that could attract males, you should go bathe..." Y/N dropped her jaw at his statement and wanted so badly to slap him for that. Though, when she lifted a brow curiously and started smelling herself she about froze into an ice cube... Sesshomaru sat up straight and shut his eyes again, silently waiting for her response.

IS HE SAYING IM ON MY FRIGGIN' PERIOD?! Y/N mentally exclaimed and became devastated, sweating profusely and awkwardly sitting there. Quickly she stood up and as stiff as a board, walked out of the room, hoping to find the bathroom. Wait, do they even have bathrooms in this era?! DAMN IT! IF THEY DON'T THEN HOW AM I GONNA BE SAFE WHILE BATHING?! WHERE DO I FRIGGIN' BATHE ANYWAY?! She panicked in her head and had a swirling line animation in her eyes. Sesshomaru just watched her pace back and forth now, with no expression present.
