A/N Here it is! Chapter the last!

I have loved going through this fic with all of you and hope you can enjoy the ending as much as I have enjoyed writing for you.)

Things were going well.

A treaty was signed between the Hooligans, the Wailers, and the Scots.

"I will not-" Angar was cut off as Esra hit his head from behind.

"Esra!"

"I will not allow him to speak for my people when he doesn't have my people's interests at heart. We want to grow. We made a poor enemy. We'll pay for that. But I will not give up our ancestral lands."

"They're yours. You'll not sail into southern waters."

"Agreed."

.

A port was chosen and construction was begun immediately.

"This is a nice inlet."

"The rocks'll be yer death if ye try un settle 'ere."

"We're vikings. It's an occupational hazard."

Hiccup broke away from the architects to speak to Queen Elinor in private.

"There is a ship-one of Mala's-with a stable below deck. Do you think your boys could sneak Angus aboard?"

She stared at him surprise for a moment before smiling and nodding. She reached a hand to his shoulder and softened her features as unshed tears came to her eyes.

.

Merida insisted they drink from Fire Falls.

"We can't fly to the top?"

"No, ye daffy! Tha'd be cheating!"

"You do remember I have a peg leg?"

"Oh? 'Fraid o' a wee little challenge?"

"More like a 'wee little' slip and a not so 'wee little' fall."

She snorted and led the way up. Toothless and Wisp watched from the treetops nearby and the razorwhip dragonling stretched her wings as Merida ascended.

The falls were magical.

"My turn."

"Oh?"

He snapped his gliders into flight mode.

"The Wingmaidens have an activity called the 'Leap of Faith.' You trust your little friend?"

"Uh…"

"Toothless or Wisp will catch you if her wings don't hold you."

"Ye want me to...jump?"

He held up his arms to show off his 'wings.' "I'll be right with you."

They glided down together whooping and hollering.

.

She'd given another tearful goodbye to her parents, but he was pleased to hear her assure them that she was happy. Stoick and Fergus became fast friends when the threat of death and war wasn't on their doorstep.

He led the flock and fleet home with Merida in Toothless's saddle with him.

He felt when she fell asleep behind him. He smiled fondly, remembering her first journey to Berk.

.

Merida no longer had the razorwhip, she had to be returned to her family. She was glad she hadn't named the baby, because that would have made leaving her that much more difficult. The dragonling hadn't wanted to leave her side, but Merida and Atali forced the issue.

Merida made sure to stay away from the Wingmaidens on the return for fear of the dragonling finding her again. Her heart was surprisingly heavy at the lightness of her shoulders.

.

Hiccup was blindsided and furious when they returned home and Stoick announced his plans to leave. Hiccup had been acting chief for a long while and they'd spoken of him becoming chief in the past. Hiccup accepted that that was an eventuality, but kept postponing it. Now, Stoick decided he wanted to travel with Valka; see where she'd been while gone. Maybe stay south for a spell and discover how the Scots lived.

Merida stayed by Hiccup's side constantly, helping any way she could. She felt more at home as a chieftess in the Archipelago than she ever would have as a queen in the highlands, but she also simply didn't want to part with him. The extra weight didn't bother Toothless, and many of the townsfolk poked fun that the pair just liked to be flush in the saddle.

Merida discovered she loved flying. With Hiccup and Toothless she felt safe and on the few occasions she rode Wisp she felt free. The dragon had woke her at dawn to go flying with Toothless and if Merida and Hiccup had duties that separated them she could count on Wisp to take her 'd do anything they could dream of in the clouds. Merida spoke to Wisp about gaining gliding wings like Hiccup's, but she knew she wasn't quite ready for that yet. Hiccup had fashioned her a new set of armor from Wisp's scales.

Even Angus had made friends with the pair of dragons as she would run through archery practices with both.

.

Dagur and Mala were also excited to find out Merida was due five months after they were. Dagur would grab Hiccup and drone on about how well their children would get along and how often they would have to arrange meetings for them.

"Imagine it brother! Your child. My child. Our children."

Merida and Mala laughed at the encounters while Hiccup often cringed and Dagur giggled uncontrollably.

.

When Wisp left at Snoggletog Hiccup got really excited, but left the reason a surprise. When three tiny dragons came back with her he and Fishlegs would hardly leave them alone as they asked and answered countless questions. For a brief time the five migrated to another island. Hiccup seemed to think it could be an island of night furies, but they didn't know for sure. They were relieved when the family of dragons returned.

Things were going well.

(A/N I apologize if anyone felt the ending in the last chapter was anticlimactic. I felt that was the best way to end the war because Esra would force the issue knowing that all four encampments had been eradicated.

Also, I know some people won't like the "and they had babies" epilogue, but I must implore you to imagine Dagur with Hiccup's baby! Or better yet Dagur attempting to arrange a match between his and Hiccup's children! So yes, I had to include that.

I hope you enjoyed it!)
