About Time

-[ Recap ]-

``Oh right! I am Candy Chiu, nice to meet you...``

``Mason Pines.`` I muttered. Candy nodded as she smiled at me. I didn't bat a eye and turning over to my sister. She made a motion of "start a conversation with her" thing and I happen to not start one since she was the one who started it. I guess I decided to talk for once. It ended up becoming topics that we were both interest in. I guess it's nice... But I didn't like it how Mabel made us exchange numbers to one another.

I turned to glare at her as she show me her smug expression.

I swear, Mabel what will I do with you?

- Dipper's POV -

The bell rang and it was finally the end of school. I picked up any homework assignments and left the classroom with my binder. Man, I feel so alive. I did see Jade as she came to share a few words with me. She told me she wasn't hanging out with Tom anymore. She ended up walking with me as I headed out of the door. We halted in front of the school entrance as she told me she had to go. We waved and I watched her go. She's a good friend, I'm glad she git over Tom's... manipulative bullsh-t. Anyway, my phone buzzed and I'm questioning why Mabel wanted me to exchange phone numbers on that day. And I didn't like that smug expression she gave me! I wonder what she is up to. I went to check my phone, seeing Candy wanted to hang out. I guess I can since I have nothing to do after school. Free at last, no homework or nothing... I think. I might have to check again. I texted her back to meet up at the Mystery Shack, where I'll be setting my things at.

I placed my phone in the pocket before stepping down the steps and walking to the Mystery Shack. As I passed by people, they were talking about the upcoming Halloween Festival, oh right... I forgot about that. I didn't really get a chance to talk about it last time it was brought up. That uncomfortable... topic. I don't even know if I'm one of them. I bet Mabel is excited to dress up with her boyfriend. ... I feel lonely now. Maybe that's why most people want to take their crushes out to not feel alone when monsters and ghosts jump out to scare them. I chuckled quietly and looked up at the shack in the distance. I don't know what to do about my love life. I entered the shack once I arrived as Grunkle Stan was the first one to greet me. ``How was school?``

``Good. No trouble at all.`` I answered before making my way through the archway, down the hallway, and up the stairs. I walked over to my room and entered in. I placed my binder on the desk and pulled out my phone, checking it. [ I'll be there before you know it! ] - Candy. I blinked before looking over my shoulder to Mabel, who was entering. ``Wow, this day can't get any better than this, can it?`` She asked. I think she meant to ask that question herself.

``I guess?`` I muttered, shrugging.

``No trouble with the bullies?`` She asked. Oh right, I forgot to mention that!

``They've been suspended. I'm not quite sure I'll be meeting them again.`` I said as a smile appeared on my face. I told the staff members at school and back up some evidence of their crime, and they got what they deserved, finally. Took them long enough... well, it was my fault for not telling. So, let's not get into that.

``That's some good news!`` She chirped. ``Those pigs deserved that punishment!``

``Woah, didn't realize you were a person who insults.`` I said surprised. Well... I might have forgotten about previous times...

``Well, whoever hurts my family or friends, will get my insulting power to their face!`` She said, holding her fist into the air. I couldn't help but let out a laugh.

`` "Insulting power"? Funny.`` I chuckled afterward.

``Hey, I beat up people with it!`` She huffed before setting down her things.

``Well, as long as there's no blood, then we're good. Besides, I'm heading out in just a bit.`` I said. Yeah, as long as... nobody kills anyone...

``Where are you going?`` She asked. I watched her sit on her bed as I leaned against the desk and shut my phone off.

``Candy asked me if I wanted to hang out, so I accepted her invitation.`` I said. She gasped and jumped out of her bed and rushed over to me.

``Do you know what this means?!`` She said in her excitement. I stood there, bewildered by her actions. I shook my head. ``Of course, you don't, you don't even understand it! It might mean that she may ask you out!``

``... How does "Hang out" equal to "asking someone out?" I don't think we're that close anyway, and in fact, I don't really feel anything for her.`` I said.

``... True... But, I pretty much- uh... understand how her brain works!`` She smiled nervously. ``... Did you come out yet?``

``... No?`` I said. ``I'm still unsure.``

``Well, whenever you do, I'll accept you, no matter what. Even if I was being a little brat from before. Kahlil kind of... scared me a bit from one of his "talks" he calls it.`` She said. I chuckled.

``He didn't hurt you right?`` I asked.

``No he didn't, why?`` She asked. I looked away, letting out a sigh. ``Just making sure.``

``Did "talks" or something didn't-``

``He was going to hurt you if you harmed me mentally anymore.`` I said.

``I wouldn't really go as far since he has powers.`` She said, which she paused her actions and covered her mouth. ``CRAP. I BROKE HIS PROMISE.`` ... Powers? ... He has powers...? I don't see him having powers... I could ask the next time I see him. ``Alright, whatever you say.`` I watched her face go from a panic one to a nervous one as she nods. I narrowed my eyes, suspicious of her. I looked down at my phone and opened it. Candy was here as that was my cue to leave. ``I guess that's you're time. Have fun!`` She chirped.

``Thank you.`` I put my phone in my pocket and walked out. I felt my eye-patch still there, hesitating if I should leave it or not. I don't know, I'm still afraid of what's shown on it. I headed downstairs and over to the gift shop area where Grunkle Stan was talking to Candy. She was wearing a light green shirt with a light blue long skirt. I shrugged the thought off and walked over. ``Have fun you two!`` Grunkle Stan said as he winks at me. I glared him down before we both said our goodbyes and left the shack.

``You're uncle is sure nice!`` Candy said, smiling.

``It's great-uncle and yes... he is.`` I muttered, getting slightly annoyed. I swear I hate these thoughts within me. Anyway, I better enjoy this while it lasts. We walked in silence, but soon started a conversation when we were nearing our destination- which happened to be the mall. Great... I hate this. Instead, she wanted to go to the arcades with me, which I happen to like and didn't mind at all. I guess this will be a great opportunity to enjoy. We ended up almost playing all of the games that were in there until the pros came in. They think they know tips to win each and every game. Please, it's all about having fun and enjoying the time you will spend here, is what I told them, but we were soon shooed away and told to find something else to enjoy ourselves with. ``Don't listen to them, they don't know what they're talking about.`` I heard Candy say.

``I won't, I learned not to.`` I said.

``Are you hungry though? We could walk and head over at the cafe here.`` She smiled.

``A little snack won't hurt me.`` I nodded.

``Good! Cuz I am starving at that... incident.`` She said, frowning. ``Do you think what they said about my glasses look weird?``

``Not at all, they don't look weird on you.`` I said, looking around for the cafe.

``I hope so. I did get new ones since my last ones broke 2 weeks ago.`` She said as she adjusted her glasses position. ``Okay, let's go!`` I nodded as we both begin to walk over to the Cafe. We entered and ordered a small meal. We shared a few words before I noticed how she got giggly between each response. They weren't even funny, to begin with. I grew quiet afterward, wanting none of this. More so, I got uncomfortable. We finished up and soon we were heading out of the mall since Candy didn't want to be in there due to those pros earlier. Sometimes you have to not let it bother you so much, but she was looking nervous.

Soon we arrived at the dirt path to the Mystery Shack. We halted as we both turned to each other. ``It was nice hanging out with you.`` I begin, only to be interrupted by her. ``I have something to ask of you if you don't mind.`` She said, holding her hands together. I nodded, giving my full attention. ``I know we knew each other for a short amount of time but... this Halloween Festival is coming up and I can't help to ask if you want to go out with me on it.`` She smiled.

I stared at her, realizing my sister was right. ``...`` I looked completely uncomfortable with this. She waited for my response with a perfect smile that couldn't be broken. Well, too bad, this was her unfortunate luck. ``As much as you think I like you the same way, I don't. I apologize, but I only think of you as a friend. And besides, I have eyes for someone else.`` I said, frowning at her. I watched her smile drop into a frown as sadness twisted on her face.

``I knew it.`` She said. ``But I wanted to make sure... Gideon was right, maybe I can't find someone else.``

``You can. It may not be the deadline of Halloween, but there's always some other holidays that you could possibly find your love there.`` I said. I hope I didn't worsen this.

``I... know. I just thought...- I'm sorry for wasting your time.`` She said.

``You didn't at all, I didn't think it was a waste at all.`` I frowned.

``Well, this may take some rethinking... I'll have to throw off the skirt since I hate it. And... probably throw off...- Don't you feel like you can't be better than anyone else?`` She asked, wiping her tears away. Oh god, I made her cry, I feel guilty now. ``Yes... sometimes.`` I said, watching her sadness go into a surprised expression within seconds. ``Don't worry, you're not alone on this.`` She nodded before she cleaned and straightened herself up. ``I shouldn't listen to what that fat brat has to say.`` She grunted as I snorted. ``I apologize, but I hope he's not watching us.`` She said, appearing to be panicked and on edge. I decided not to ask about it.

``Gideon can be annoying, but at least I don't see him anymore, that is.`` I muttered.

``He's too busy with shows and stuff. As well as to hang out with his friends.`` She said, crossing her arms.

``Of course...`` I said, looking at the dirt path before gazing back at her.

``Oh, I should leave to get back to my house. It was nice hanging out with you, Mason.`` She said, waving.

``It was nice hanging out with you too.`` I smiled, waving back. I turned away.

``And good luck with that person you have eyes one!`` She called out before departing to her home. I felt touched and warmth inside as my cheeks flare red. Oh god... here we go again with the blushing. I'm glad my sister doesn't have to see me like this. That was a nice chat, I'm glad she didn't take it harshly. You know what. Why in all times when I found someone to crush on, a person actually asks me out? I let out an annoyed sigh and walked back home. I entered the shack as Grunkle Stan asked me about the hang out with Candy. I said the truth and headed upstairs. I knocked on the door before I was let in by my sister. ``So, anything from her?`` She asked.

``... She did ask me out but I decline it.`` I said, sitting on my bed.

``Well. Better luck next time.`` She closes the door. I watched her walk over to her bed and sit on it. I looked over to my sheets and poke at it before turning my attention to my sister. ``Yeah... it sucks.``

``As the Romantic Master, I will help you with this.`` Mabel said.

``... Alright, what do you got?`` I said with open arms. Not literally. I turned and grabbed the rose from the end table and stared at it.

``... You're giving up that easily?`` She asked.

``Well, yes. It won't hurt to get a few suggestions. So why not?`` I said, shrugging.

``Alrighty then!`` She turned to face me and put on her... working look? I don't know what she calls that. ``First off, did you develop a crush during these harsh times?``

I stared down at the rose and looked back up. ``...Yes.`` I muttered.

``YOU DID?!``

``Oh god, Mabel... this is why I didn't want to tell you.`` I said. ``You freak out like this.``

``I'm sorry, but I'm so proud of you. Did you ask her yet?`` She said. She widened her eyes in realization. ``Did you ask them yet?`` I let out a small chuckle. Even if I didn't come out, she still respects who I like. I flustered, avoiding to look at my sister. ``...No, not really.``

``Alright. You need me for this one.`` She said. ``We got to pick the perfect place for the best romantic area!`` She said this when she was standing up by the way. I stared at her and sighed. ``Don't you agree?``

``... Maybe something plain and simple?`` I asked.

``No, I'm not going with what you suggest.`` She said.

``Hey, you let me voice my opinion about it.`` I grunted.

``Yeah... but I realized your suggestions are lame.`` She chuckled.

``Thanks, sister.`` I grunted some more, annoyed at her.

``No problem! So... what would be- wait. I haven't even asked the important questions!`` She walked over to me and sat next to me. I stared at her with a wary look.

``Who are they and what type of places do they like? Or... you could give me how they are, or... however you think. I don't know.`` Mabel said. I smiled and ease my stare into a gentle one.

``I hope you don't get mad at me... I don't want the same reaction as the last one.`` I said.

``I won't judge you, brother! I will love you no matter who you like.`` She said. I nodded and breathe in and out before doing so.

``... Um... I like Kahlil.`` I muttered, staring at her facial expression.

``... K-Kahlil?``

``You said you wouldn't judge!`` I interrupted her.

``I know that just messing with you!`` She chuckled. ``So... isn't he mysterious enough?``

``... From a not so close friend he is.`` I said. ``He can be, but sometimes, I can see what he is like. For example, he will kill anybody who tries to hurt me physically and mentally... and that just sounds fishy right there.``

``... I- That does sound fishy.`` She said. ``Overprotective friend I suppose?``

``Yep... and... uh... he does act like you sometimes when you guys mess with me.`` I glared at her. She let out a chuckle before nodding in agreement.

``I remember that one moment and that other moment too.`` She said. ``So... uh... cheerful? Silly? I don't know...``

``Eh, he's full of surprises.`` I shrugged, blushing afterward.

``And you love those surprises~`` I stared at my sister's smug expression.

``Shut up.`` I hissed.

``Hey, I'm just saying. So.`` She stood up and walked over to the center of the room. ``Why not invite him to the jungle and ask him out?``

``... I-It's not that simple!`` I panicked. Also what happened to me not entering into the jungle? Did that rule just vanish into thin air?

``Just be yourself and everything will be alright.`` She smiled. ``Trust me, you got this brother!``

``... Alright. I will try my luck and if it doesn't work out... I don't know what will.`` I said.

``That's the spirit!`` She chirped, turning away and sitting down on her bed. I watched her go back to her phone. I stared down at the rose, eyeing it. Hey, at least it wasn't that bad. I picked up the note and unrolled it from the stern of the rose. "Always think of the positive things and those who hold deep within your heart" - Anonymous. I smiled, my cheeks still flaring that red coloring. Let's hope it works.

I sat on my bed, sitting in the next day, wondering why I couldn't just ask him yesterday. It was a perfect time... I don't know. Maybe I didn't want to get out of the house that evening. I closed my eyes shut and squealed. I don't know if I can text him. I don't know... Okay, first off. I have done this before... it's just.. different around this time. I breathe in and out, opening my eyes. Okay, you can do this, Dipper. It's that simple! I turned and grabbed my phone off of the end table and opened it up to the conversation between me and Kahlil. [ Hey, do you want to go into the jungle with me? ] - Me. I dropped my phone as I felt my heart race with this joy emotion. Shut it, heart. I don't want to feel like this anymore. I grabbed my phone and took a look at it. [ Perfect timing! I'd love to get out of this house. ] - Creepyboi. I blushed a bit, staring at my phone wondering if my crush can see it. Calm down, Dipper, he's not here yet.

[ I'll meet you at your house. ] - Creepyboi. I can't believe I named him that nickname that one time. I closed my phone and place it in front of me with my shaking hands. Oh, what a lovely time it was. Him flirting with me through texts and constantly throughout our friendship. I'm talking like it's gonna end this evening. Alright! I gotta get ready, nothing special just... plain stuff. Yeah. I stood up from my bed and walked over to my dresser to change clothes. A simple blue jacket and a light purple shirt with some blue jeans. I think I look good. Wait, stop that! Ugh... I hate myself. I walked over to my end table and put on my eye-patch. I ignored my earrings box. We're not adding that to the spice. I headed out of my room and downstairs. I made sure my phone was in my pocket as it was. As I was walking past the living room, I was halted by my sister's voice. ``Are you going to do so today?`` I turned to her and nodded. ``Yea... finally... eh..``

``What is it kiddo?`` Grunkle Stan said, looking over to me.

``He's asking his crush out!`` Mabel said, bouncing around excitedly. I sighed, looking away embarrassed.

``OH? Well, lookie here, my nephew! I knew you had it in you! Who is this lucky woman?`` He asked. Me and my sister both snickered. He looked confused, wondering what he said to make us laugh.

``What is going on here?`` I heard Grunkle Ford say, walking over to where I stood in the archway.

``Our nephew is asking a lady out!`` Grunkle Stan said.

``Oh? That's lovely!`` My nerdy great-uncle said.

``Yeah... except it's not a woman, Grunkle Stan.`` I said, nervously chuckling.

``Oh, so you're into guys?`` Grunkle Ford asked.

``Not really. It's complicated.`` I said, visibly uncomfortable by this. I won't say I'm gay. Not one bit. ``Um... I might just say it while you guys are all here.`` I muttered.

``You don't have to if you don't want to.`` Mabel said. ``We'll support you, either way, right?``

``Yeah. Whatever makes you happy, kiddo.`` Grunkle Stan said, smiling faintly.

``That what matters when becoming a healthy person.`` Grunkle Ford said. I smiled at them as I nodded. I turned to them before breathing in and out.

``... I'm what uh... they call...`` I trailed off. I DON'T EVEN KNOW THE WORD FOR IT. My mind screamed. This is awkward.

``Pansexual.`` I heard my sister say. ``A person who's attracted to another person regardless of their gender.``

``Yeah, I'm pansexual.`` I smiled.

``That's lovely! Do hope the guy loves you back, if he doesn't we're going to have a talk.`` Grunkle Stan said, nodding at me. I don't know what to say.

``I'll get my gun if I have to.`` Grunkle Ford said which I snapped my head to him in shock.

``Don't scare the kids! It's just a prop gun.`` Grunkle Stan, sighing. A prop gun? I mean, Halloween is coming up so... I guess.

``You have fun out there, Dipper!`` Mabel said.

I nodded. ``Thank you, guys.``

``No problem, go get him.`` Grunkle Ford said before I turned and walked away from the living room. I walked out into the gift shop area and halted. I rubbed my checks because they were so red. I didn't know what to do say at all. I never felt so much love from them ever. I'm glad we all made up. I stared at the door before breathing in and out. ``Okay, I got this.`` I whispered.

...

I don't got this.

I walked out of the shack, stretching out my limbs a bit before getting jump scared. I turned to glare at Kahlil who was laughing. ``Really?`` This feels like old times. Where he would scare me every time I get off from work or just sneak up on me at school, good times indeed.

``It is the spooky month, so... why not?`` He said, smirking before heading down the steps.

``That still doesn't give you the right to scare me like that.`` I said, following him.

``Oh well, it's in the past now.`` He said walking on the dirt path. I huffed before looking down at the ground. Once again, the silence crept in between us, holding our voices back from being heard. I'm grateful for that because right now, I feel like I'm blushing myself to explode. I feel like I need to say something, but at the same time, I shouldn't. We were like this before in the past, why am I trying to change how I am?

``I'm so glad you sent that message. I thought I was going to die in my house.`` Kahlil said, catching my attention.

``Why?`` I asked. Oh thank god, he interrupted the silence.

``Well... my parents are trying to spend time with me again and at the same time I don't want to.`` He begins. ``Specifically, my mother wants me and my father to get along again, which will not happen. He hates me and I dislike him.``

``Oh, that seemed like a tough moment.`` I said.

``It seems she didn't quite understand that I don't like my father. I guess the "several attempts of trying to disown me" didn't pop into her face. I... I don't know if I blame her or not.`` He muttered.

``She seems to be in a tough situation, torn between her husband and her son. And I think she just wants the family to get back together, so she's trying her hardest to do so.`` I said, looking over at him.

``... Yeah... I should just... not say anything negative or stupid. And just lighten up.`` Kahlil said. I nodded, agreeing with him.

``Maybe this breeze will help me think of that.`` He said, looking over to my gaze. I averted my eyes away. Nope.

``By the way, nice earrings.`` He chirped.

``...Wait.`` I halted. ``I put them on?!``

``You didn't realize you put them on?`` He said, stopping too.

``No, I-... how?`` I said, looking embarrassed.

``Don't be that way, I think it looks good on you.`` He smiled. I nodded, holding back a smile. He then turned to the jungle and walked over to it. I let out a sigh of relief before following him. I'm not quite sure why he wanted me to go first, but I went. I lead us to the Great Branch that we would always hang out at. It's still massive as I last saw it. I halted before I noticed Kahlil walk past me. ``... Why did you want me to go first?`` I asked.

``I wanted to see if you knew the way here.`` He said, walking over to the middle of the branch. I held my hands together a bit before letting them go. Move, Dipper. You look like an awkward little child. I told myself before walking over and sitting with him.

``So, you made a new friend?`` He asked, which made me flinch. I forgot he was there.

``Yeah... I did. I mean, we met a few days before whatever happened yesterday, so yeah.`` I answered.

``What happened yesterday?`` He asked, getting curious.

``... Uh... that same person who we became friends asked me out. I still feel a bit guilty about rejecting her, but it is what it is.`` I said.

``Oh. That's rough, why you did so?`` He asked. Why is he asking this many questions?

``... Um...`` I slowly turned red, frozen like a statue.

``You have a crush I see?`` He chuckled.

``Y-Yeah, I did- I do! Uh..`` I covered my face.

``It's alright, I have seen people like that when confessing to their friends, so you're fine with me.`` He said.

``With you, it's...- yeah.`` I said, uncovering my face. JUST SAY IT. My mind screamed at me.

``With me about what?`` He asked. Stop asking questions... I'm turning redder and redder.

``That you seemed fishy the other day.`` I quickly lied, staring at him.

``Fishy? What do you mean?`` He asked, narrowing his eyes.

``Um... that night when you were helping me out of that state. Well, afterward. It was you being overprotective of me.`` I said.

``Well, that's how some friends are with their friends.`` He said, shrugging. ``But you seemed fishy there for a second. Why are you lost on your words?``

``I'm not...`` I lied, trailing off.

``Did you lie just to get out of that last question?`` He asked.

``Yeah, why the hell are you asking me a lot of questions?`` I asked.

``Well... For starters, you seemed to dress fine today and look like you were going out with someone. Secondly, you're lost on your words, and lastly. Your continued rosy checks.`` He said. ``I could understand why, because you might ask your crush out.``

``... Yeah... correct.`` I said, looking away. I am so uncomfortable. I don't know how to say this or start this.

``I'm right? Oh wow, you're easy to read.`` He chuckled.

``Yeah...`` I trailed off, gripping the branch's surface. Just say it; it's just simple words, Dipper. I told myself again.

``So... I'm going to go into silence and wait.`` He said.

``For what...?`` I asked.

``For the sunset, silly.`` He said. I looked over at the horizon, noticing how close it was to set. I gulped and stared down at the leaves below us. I should just say it and see what he says afterward, just like how Candy did it with me. Take a breather if you need to, Dipper. I told myself again. I turned my body awkwardly towards him and placed my hands in my lap.

``... Can I ask you something?`` I said, looking over to him. Kahlil turned towards me, tilting his head slightly. ``Mhm?`` Just say it, it'll be fine.

``I don't know... if this is special or not... Um. Would you like to go with me to the Halloween Festival?`` I asked. As I said it, the sunset, and soon the fireflies came out from hiding as they were the main light source tonight. I slowly grew red, hearing the silence continued on and on. As this was happening, I stared down at the leaves for the entire time- afraid of what he would think of me.

``So... does that mean, I can kiss you?`` He asked. I turned bright red in an instant and jerked my head to him in shock. I noticed he had some red roses on his face too. ``W-W-What?!`` I squeaked. He looked away with a face full of realization and embarrassment. ``I'm sorry, that came out sudden.``

``You think? Why would you say something like that?`` I asked.

``... Maybe because I love you?`` He said, looking back at me. I stared at him with a surprised expression. I... I didn't... realize, I mean it was a suspicion for a bit, but... I didn't know you really liked me.

``... I-I ... don't know what ... to say.`` I said out loud.

``Of course, you don't. I don't know what to say either.`` He began. ``I mean, do I accept your invitation or not. I was moving towards a no-``

``What?`` I quietly squealed, interrupting him in the process. Oh god, am I that desperate for a lover?

``Awww, you don't want me to say no. Look how adorable you sound right now, Dipper!`` He chuckled.

`` ... What that supposed to mean?`` I asked, feeling my cheeks hurt from the redness.

``It means, I agree to go with you, silly! More so, Go out with you since you didn't include that in your ... poor invitation.`` He muttered.

`` "Poor Invitation"? How am I suppose to ask that when I'm so nervous to the core while I'm saying it to you?`` I asked.

``You know I'm just messing with you.`` He chirped, smiling at me.

``Like you always do.`` I grunted, looking away.

``Aww, don't be like that. I'm sure you like it~`` He said.

``Sureee...`` I let out a sigh of relief. I watched the fireflies come closer to us as I felt another presence closer to me. I turned my gaze to him and glared at him. ``You didn't need to do that.``

``Yes, I did~`` He smirked.

``No, you didn't, you flirtatious person.`` I grunted.

`` "Flirtatious"? So you realize I'm flirting with you?`` He asked.

``... It took long, but yeah, I noticed.`` I muttered. ``Don't bug me much about it.``

``Well, I will not if you try some costumes that will make you look cute.`` He chirped. I looked away from him, giving up on this. ``Since we're going to the Halloween Festival and possibly most of the people there will be in costumes!``

``I guess...`` I muttered.

``I didn't really mention it being a choice.`` He said.

``You never make things a choice.`` I grunted. I heard him chuckle. I soon smiled before closing my eyes. Well, I need Mabel's help on this since I didn't plan for this at all. I'm so happy this turned out well without the "playfulness" that this person has. But... I hope that

You're happy too, Kahlil.
