— November 2, Lucy's Loft —
A few weeks after the drama, MORE drama. Great.
"The fuck are you waking me up at 3 something am in the morning for?!" Lucy yelled at her phone.
"Lucy shut up for a second, Stiles may be missing. Lydia sensed something," Aiden replied urgently.
Lucy was now wide awake, "give me 5, meet you at Stiles in 10."
Aiden hung up and Lucy did as promised, she was ready in 5 mins. She slipped on whatever was close to her, didn't even bother with a T-shirt. She would have gone with only her bra but put her leather on since it was on her Bike.
— Stiles house/room —
Once she was dressed, she drove to Stile's house in less than 7. She reached Stiles's house at the same time her brother and Lydia, she figured it was for Lydia's sketching of Aiden, who volunteered to be her model. Attention seeker, Lucy mentally teased.
The twins followed Lydia into Stiles's room. Scott and Isaac go to Stiles's room and find Lydia, Aiden, and Lucy already there. "How did you know? Did he call you too?" Scott asked hurriedly.
"I heard it," Lydia answered confusing the wolves.
"Don't ask," Lucy suggested.
"It becomes more confusing if you do," Aiden continued, explaining in further detail.
"Not as confusing as this," Lydia says and turns so they all can see that the red cords from Stiles's evidence board have been tied to a pair of scissors impaled in his mattress. "Stiles uses red for unsolved cases" Lydia explains the colored threads.
"Maybe he thinks he's part of an unsolved case," Aiden offers.
"Or is an unsolved case," Isaac says.
The realization hits Lydia, "hold on, is he still out there? You guys don't know where he is?"
"He says he's in an industrial basement somewhere," Scott informs.
Isaac then explains, "We came here to get a better scent."
"What else did he say?" Lydia continues asking Scott.
"Something is wrong with his leg, he's bleeding,"
"and he's freezing," Isaac adds.
"Tonight's the coldest night of the year," Aiden and Lucy inform having the same idea. "It's going to drop into the 20s."
Lydia asks "what did his dad say?"
Scott is forced to admit "we, kinda, didn't tell him yet."
Lydia is incensed, "Stiles is bleeding and freezing and you didn't think about calling his dad?" she asked in disbelief.
"He made me promise not to. We can find him by scent. If-if he was sleepwalking he couldn't have gone that far, right?" He tried to reason.
"You guys did notice his Jeep is gone right?" Lucy asked.
"You promised you wouldn't call his dad, I didn't," Lydia grabs out her phone dialing the sheriff's number.
But, Scott stops her, "Lydia hold on, I-I can get more help. I can call Derek, Allison-"
Lydia interrupted sarcastically, "everyone except the cops, a great idea Scott.
"You guys remember she only gets these feelings when someone is about to die, right?" Aiden reminds them.
There was silence for a few moments, Scott was debating the choices. "You don't have to call his dad, it's 5 minutes to the station," Scott agreed to tell his dad.
As Isaac and Scott were leaving the room and the twins about to follow, Lydia stopped the twins and announced they would catch up later, which led Scott to question. "There's something here." She answered.
"Yeah. Evidence of total insanity," Isaac says creeped out.
Scott doesn't quite know what to say to that, We can try to figure out what's wrong with him after we keep him from freezing to death."
"Go we'll be right behind you." The three watched as Scott and Isaac left.
"So!" Lucy clapped her hands together in fake enthusiasm, causing Aiden to roll his eye. "Let's get to work. The sooner we find clues the sooner I get my bed back."
Then they got to work. Aiden stood at the corner, next to Stiles nightstand holding up a framed drawing, "you drew this."
Lydia turned around and ordered, "put that back."
"it's yours right?" he says looking at the drawing
Lydia simply shrugged, "It's one of them."
"He likes you a lot, doesn't he?" Aiden stated, poking fun at Stiles's crush on Lydia.
"Shut up Aiden. He had his right to like whoever he wants." Lucy defends.
"Don't tell me you took a liking to this guy?" Aiden groans in annoyance.
"Aromantic, remember," Lucy stated as if he was stupid, and he clearly caught on, sowling. "Besides, I don't think he's good in bed."
Lydia gets a text from Scott informing them that Derek is heading to the high school while Isaac goes to find Allison. Scott is going to stay with the Sheriff.
Bored, Aiden plucks one of the red strings. Lydia turns suddenly, hearing voices. "What did you just do? Did you just touch one of the strings?"
Aiden looks guilty, "maybe."
Lydia cautiously plucks one of the strings herself. She asks "what did that sound to you?"
"A string being pulled," they answer as if it's the most obvious thing in the world.
"You didn't hear people whispering?" she continues.
"We definitely did not hear people whispering," Aiden answers for both. Lucy nodded in agreement. She tries again and Aiden says "Lydia, I'm not sure anybody hears what you hear."
She follows the whispers and the string to an image of Eichen House.
"Eichen House?" Both twins say in confusion.
"It's the mental health center where Barrow was committed," Lydia informs looking at the twins, mostly Aiden.
"Is that it?" Aiden asks.
"It's where he is. That's where Stiles is." Lydia informs with a horrified expression.
Lydia then called Scott saying she found Stiles.
— Eichen House —
The Sheriff, Scott, Lydia, Aiden, and Lucy arrive at Eichen House. The Sheriff asks Lydia if she's sure. She swears that he is. They rush in and tell the front desk that they need access to all the basements in the facility.
Lydia leads the way in Eichen House. "It's here. It's right here." The Sheriff opens the basement door and they all rush down, but Stiles isn't there. They all look to Lydia for an explanation. The Sheriff turns angrily at her, demanding to know where Stiles is.
"Stop!" Lucy says pulling the sheriff away from Lydia, "she tried her best, human (banshee) error." Though banshees are seldom wrong. Lucy remembers but doesn't mention it.
"I'm sorry," the sheriff apologizes sheepishly.
"I don't understand," Lydia says with a lost expression. Aiden had to pull Lydia up the stairs as she was lost in thought. As they all leave, without noticing that onore kanji carved into the wall.
— Gas station —
Aiden was with Lucy and Derek. He started Derek's car while Derek sets jumper cables up on Stiles's Jeep. Lucy was sitting on her Bike waiting for the boys to be done, she caught on to their conversation. Aiden then asks "do you think it was just sleepwalking or if there was something more to it". "In this town, there's always something more."
Aiden says that he listened in on, "Stiles told Scott that he thinks he was the one who wrote the message in the Chemistry room, to kill Kira."
"You weren't supposed to be listening in," Lucy commented on her side. "But I agree with Aiden."
"You two, think Stiles, skinny, defenseless, Stiles, is the nogitsune? A powerful dark spirit?" Derek doesn't believe it.
Aiden claims "see, I'm not the only one thinking about it, just the only one saying it. Except for Lucy, she agreed."
"This thing wants to possess someone and chooses Stiles? Why not take someone bigger, stronger? Someone like Lucy, someone with a little more . . ." Derek stops as he has a realization. "Power." He touches the jumper cables together, making a spark.
"It doesn't need to be someone with more power, but it would be unexpected." Lucy reasoned. "We all trust Stiles, we don't trust the nogitsune, he may be tricking us with Stiles."
Both guys took her reasoning/logic into consideration.
Once the Jeep was charged Aiden was going to drive it back. "You coming?" Aiden asks his sister.
Lucy looks at Aiden then at Derek, debating. Biting her lip she replies, "not today Aiden. I'll go with Derek. See you later, probably. If you don't stay with Lydia for the night." She intentionally added the last part.
Aiden scowled but drove away.
Looking at Derek, he was smiling at his sister's antics. Lucy jogged over towards him and commented, looking at the sky, "it's morning already. Goodbye goodnight sleep," she waved at the sky dramatically.
Derek laughed, "let's go."
Lucy and Derek went back to his loft. The teenager wanted to skip school to sleep, "good day daydream." As she said this, Lucy dropped on the soft/hard sofa, asleep.
— November 2, Derek's Loft/Car —
After a few hours, Derek woke the school girl up. "Give me a good excuse for not ripping your throat with my teeth this moment," Lucy was shifted barring her death.
"One I taught you that threat," Lucy snarled, not pleased. "Two, we are going to check on Stiles." Lucy debated if it was a good excuse, then groaned in defeat, getting up, heading out.
She left her Bike at Derek's while they drove to the school to pick Kira up. Well, mostly Derek because Lucy didn't want to get caught skipping, in the act.
After a few minutes, why does it always take this long? Lucy complained in her head while listening to music and reading a fantasy book. She was so focused on her book and music she didn't hear, Kira greets her or feels the car start.
Kira and Derek left Lucy in the car while they entered the power station, the place where Barrow first kidnapped Kira, to discuss Kitsune's Foxfire.
Once Lucy finished the book she looked up to find Kira and Derek in the front seats. "When did you get here Kira?" Lucy questioned.
"An hour ago," Kira answered honestly. Lucy looked confused, "you were so focused on your book you didn't hear us come in."
"Oh," was her smart answer. "What did I miss?"
"Kira simply told me about Foxfire," Derek answered her.
"Cool," Lucy looked back at her music. "Shake me whenever we reach wherever we are going."
— Hospital —
3 minutes later they reached the hospital. The fox and male wolf called out to her, only to be ignored, so they did as she asked, they shook her. Finally having their attention and their point, they all got out of the car and started walking towards the Hospital, only to be stopped by Kira.
They turned around so they were facing her. "I don't know if I should go in." Both wolves walked towards her with confused glances, "you're going to tell Scott that Barrow may have used Foxfire created by me, to jump-start the nogitsune power inside Stiles."
"Yeah," Both answered.
"Basically, I helped the dark spirit take control of his best friends," she had a worried expression.
The wolves looked at each other finally catching on, Lucy turned to Kira and mentioned, "you might want to stay here."
"Yeah," she agreed.
— Waiting room/Roof —
Derek, Scott, and Lucy were sitting in the waiting room to talk.
Scott starts, "you know, uh, the stuff about chemo signals earlier. It reminded me of the time you tried to teach me to use anger to control the shift." Lucy was confused, then caught on. Derek was the one that taught her-ish about control, so he must have also helped Scott's control.
"I think you ended up teaching me more about that," Derek sort of smiles and figures Scott taught him that time.
"Are you teaching me again?" Scott asks.
"Think of it more like sharing a few trade secrets. You know Lucy and I took Cora back to South America, right? It's where she spent more time after the fire. But that's not the only reason we left. I needed to talk to my mother." Dere confesses.
"Death mother?" Scott asks skeptically.
"She told me something that changed my perspective, on a lot of things. She said my family didn't just live in Beacon Hills. They protected it. This town needs someone to protect it. Someone like you." Scott gives Derek a kind look.
"Scott, there was a reason you were chosen to be a true Alpha. We all trust you, we will help you on your way to becoming someone great," Lucy added.
"Someone like you guys to teach me a few trade secrets." The sibling wolves smiled a little at that.
Scott stood up in deep thinking, "Scott?" Lucy asked.
Scott has a revelation. "He was trying to protect us. Stiles was protecting us."
"From himself," Derek added. Realization dawned on the three.
The wolves race up to the roof. "What are we looking for?" Derek questioned.
"I'm not sure. But I don't think stiles was up here struggling with himself, I think he was struggling not to do something," Scott says.
Lucy thought about the events logically then blurts out, "that makes sense. He was struggling from harming his pack."
Scott reaches up on one of the structures on the roof and finds a bag of electrical equipment. They look around trying to determine what Stiles was doing, and Scott spots a wire that's been damaged.
Lucy heard Lydia's scream, then electricity. The transformer box next to the wolves exploded. The explosion sent the three wolves backing up, watching as a live power line starts whipping around.
