If you liked Ava and Morgan together this chapter touches on their past a bit BUT this is still a Nava story.
-/End of AN/-
Ava walked up to the grave she hadn't visited in a long time. A grave she always felt was almost wrong of her to visit, despite how much she wanted to. She had no time to feel guilt or question it though, if she couldn't really talk to Morgan she'd still visit him.
She stopped on her way to get flowers. She placed the roses down on the grave before she knelt down next to the grave. It was so unlike her, to get on the dirty ground. But she still found herself breaking her own rules for the boy...even years after his death.
"Oh, Morgan." She sighed, breaking the crisp silence in the air of the graveyard.
What was there to say? Should she really be saying anything to a head stone? Would he even wanna hear what she has to say. A pang of pain flashes in her when she knows the answer to that is no. But for Avery….for their sweet precious girl….maybe he'd listen.
Even when she wasn't his he loved her. Avery was someone everyone loved, no matter what they thought of Ava or Sonny. She was a ray of sunshine in the storms that clouded their lives. Drama and pain...a lot of pain. But then there was her. Avery.
There was a time Morgan loved Avery as a dad, and Ava was glad for that. Before the paternity when he didn't know there were a few times. Of course this was after he had demanded she get rid of the pregnancy.
When Morgan showed up for her, Paternity be damned, ready to be the baby's father and her lover again it was everything she ever wanted. In those moments he was her dad, until it was ruined by Sonny.
Then there was the brownstone. When he helped hide her from Sonny. He still had that soft spot for her, and it almost made her think just maybe they could be more again. She was wrong in the end, but she would always cherish that time.
How he hid her without pushing for answers. How he seemed to suddenly care again. How she'd catch him smiling around her again. A stray laugh at a witty comment she made. How he cared for her. How he let her practically break his hand through contraction pains. How she could just see how much he cared for that baby.
The hurt he had with the unknown. How a part of him wanted that baby. How he stepped up for her and the baby when they needed him to. Another time when he was one hundred percent Avery's dad.
Now he'd be Avery's dad forever. But forever was too late for him.
God she loved him. A part of her will always love him. A part of there love will now always be there as well.
She wonders if Morgan would be as happy as she is. Is she selfish for being happy? Would he hate this? Blame her? Would he still be the Morgan she loved?
Her head was spinning with what to say. Not because she couldn't say anything but because she had a million things she could say to him.
"I'm sorry." She summed it up, speaking lightly.
"Ava?" Pulled her out of her deep thoughts, to look up and see Julian of all people standing in front of her.
"Julian?" Ava asked, still out of it.. "What-?"
"Are you okay?" Julian asked his own question instead, stepping closer to her and holding out a hand for her. She grabbed onto it as he helped pull her up from her knees in the grass.
Ava didn't say anything, the look on her face one of sadness speaking for itself. Julian looked down to see who she was in front of. This wasn't Kiki's grave, no, he knew that. Then he read it.
"Ava, what happened?" He asked her. "Why did you come here?"
He understood why she cared for Morgan, he saw it first hand. But why now did she sit at his grave?
"Avery…." She let out. "Julian, Avery is Morgan's."
"I'm sorry, did you just say-"
"Uh, huh." She nodded.
"How did you find out?" He asked
"Nikolas did." She told him. "He saw her files at General Hospital. She's not Sonny's."
"That's good?" Julian said, not sure what to say.
"Yeah." Ava admitted. "It means I can keep Avery safe."
"That's the goal, right." Julian asked.
"Of course." She said firmly. "It's the most important thing."
"Then why the frowns, baby sis?" He asked, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
"Morgan won't know his daughter...Avery won't know her father...It's awful, Julian."
"Yeah, i didn't meet my kids until they were grown, except Leo of course." Julian told her. "I mean I hate the time I missed out on but-i'm still glad I met them eventually."
"Morgan won't have that...because of-"
"Don't." Julian interrupted firmly.
"Julian..."
"I'm serious, Ava. You didn't kill him. Olivia did. Tell me you know that." He said holding her arms and looking her in the eyes so he knew she could understand him.
"Yes." She nodded.
"Then what's with the nonsense you were about to spew." He asked. "Don't play the blame game, especially when you aren't to blame."
"I had my part." She admitted.
"In him taking my car not in planting a bomb. I mean, My god Ava, he didn't die due to his medications he died cause we have a physco sister. Without the bomb, Morgan would have lived."
"I wish he was here." She admitted. "He'd love her so much."
"I know." Julian sympathized. "I'm sorry."
"Now she just has me." Ava shrugged.
"Well first off I think you are pretty damn amazing." Julian told her, earning a small smile from his sister. "And secondly, she will never be alone. She has me, and Nikolas, and you told me yourself how great Avery and Spencer are together."
"Yeah, she certainly has a great step brother to look after her." Ava smiled at the though of Avery still having a sibling after all despite missing Kiki.
"Then there you go!" He exclaimed. "Avery is gonna be fine."
"Yeah." Ava took a deep breath out. "Avery is gonna be fine."
