Chapter 17: Senseis and Students, Face Off!

Hey howdy hey hello, welcome to the show! Enigma's back yet again with the final chapter for today! I know, three in a row again?

This one's kinda short, but I honestly didn't have much I wanted to cover during this exam, so I opted not to drag it out any further than necessary.

Anyways, enjoy!

Feel free to review, but don't just rip into me. I'm doing this for fun, not excessive criticism.

"The ten teams will be starting in their respective stages simultaneously." Aizawa explained, "The general outline of the test will be explained by each of the teachers you'll be battling."

A Few Days Ago

First up, Ashido and Kaminari, for better or worse, their behavior is simplistic…" Aizawa began, "So Mr. Principal, I'd appreciate it if you could scoop something out of those brains of yours for them."

"Okay!" Nezu responded happily.

"Next, Moxie… in combat, he doesn't really have any glaring shortcomings. He trains constantly and makes sure he can fight without relying on his Quirk, but he's not the brightest, and it seems he doesn't think too much in a fight, he mostly works through instinct." Aizawa explained to the other teachers, "For better or worse he refuses to leave others behind. Then there's Kirishima, he's got a tendency to just try and bulldoze his way through things with his Quirk, so Cementoss, I'll be asking you to show them a thing or two. Sound good?"

"No objections!" The other teachers agreed.

"Right, moving on… Hiryu. She's lacking in combat experience or training, and not to mention her confidence. She tries to take to the skies to use her flight as an advantage." Aizawa went on, "Meanwhile, Shoji is more confident than Hiryu, and his dupliarms allow him to get a lot of information while still making him reliable in combat. Snipe, it'll be up to you to challenge them, try not to hurt them too much."

"Right." Snipe tipped his hat in response.

"How will handle the odd man out your class has?" Present Mic asked.

"One of us will be facing a team of three." Aizawa responded.

Present

"All right, this is the place." Cementoss announced, "The time limit is thirty minutes, you need to either get these handcuffs on me, or one of you needs to get out of the other gate."

"We won't even need to bother with the gate." Kirishima grinned confidently.

"This time, it'll be an actual fight, and I won't be holding back, so consider me a real Villain." Cementoss told them, "Whether it's better to fight or run is your decision."

"Of course we'll be fighting, there's no other choice! I'd regret it if I ran." Moxie crossed his arms, a smile on his face as always.

"This is a test of judgement as well, and you two certainly aren't passing." Cementoss sighed internally.

A Short Time Later

"Right, so we both agree?" Moxie asked.

"Of course! We'll rush Cementoss, and take him down easy!" Kirishima grinned.

Hiryu and Shoji

"H-How are we meant to be Snipe?" Hiryu wondered.

"I'm not sure, but I think our best plan is to try and sneak past him." Shoji responded, adjusting his mask.

"But, with his Homing Quirk…" Hiryu fidgeted with her gauntlets.

"I can draw his fire, and you can fly by overhead." Shoji told her.

"A-Are you sure?" Hiryu asked, "To draw fire like that…"

"I'll be fine." Shoji assured her.

Moxie and Kirishima

At the sound of the buzzer, Moxie and Kirishima both took off in a straight line. All around them, cement walls began to pop up, which they smashed through without any hesitation.

"If he wants to put walls in our way…" Kirishima smashed headfirst through a wall, grinning all the while.

"We can just smash them all!" Moxie finished for him, kicking through another wall.

"He's, uh… he's making a lot of them though." Kirishima gulped, realizing just how many walls were in their way.

Moxie smashed through one wall and went to bounce off another, but was caught off guard when the wall he aimed for sunk into the ground, leaving him without a foothold. He slammed into the ground and hopped to his feet as the walls continued to pop up around them.

"Uh… maybe we miscalculated." Moxie realized.

Hiryu and Shoji

"With Quirks like yours, I was the natural choice." Snipe commented, firing at the wall Shoji was hiding behind several times, destroying it and forcing the dupliarmed boy to run for new cover, "But I still expected more of a fight." He admitted, knocking Hiryu out of the sky with several rubber bullets, sending her crashing to the ground.

"Not good…" Shoji thought, glancing towards where she crashed. He tried to poke one of his dupliarms out of cover with an eye on the end, but had to pull it back when Snipe sent several bullets his way.

Hiryu grit her teeth and took off again, soaring past a huge metal silo to dodge some of Snipe's rubber bullets. Soaring way up into the sky, Hiryu lined herself up and swept towards Snipe, tucking her wings into to go faster as she dove towards the Pro, letting out an extended breath of frost that froze around her, protecting her from Snipe's bullets.

The Pro side-stepped Hiryu as she crashed into the ground, the ice shattering, and aimed his gun at her head.

"Nice try, ki-" Snipe was cut off as Shoji snapped the handcuffs onto his wrist.

"I guess you were the one who ended up drawing fire." Shoji commented to Hiryu, helping her up, "Sorry about that."

"Advisory: The first team to clear the exam… is team Hiryu and Shoji!" Recovery Girl announced over the loudspeakers.

"D-Don't worry about it." Hiryu told him, her forehead bleeding a little bit where a shard of ice had cut her.

Moxie and Kirishima

"Y'know… maybe we should have… thought of a better plan…" Kirishima panted.

"We can handle it…" Moxie insisted, smashing through yet another wall, "Is what I would say… but my legs feel like jelly…" He admitted, falling to a seated position, "Not sure how much longer we can do this…" He still had a smile on his face, but it was a very tired one.

Kirishima tried to punch through another wall, but couldn't muster the energy to get all the way through, falling to his behind in a similar fashion to Moxie. All around them the cement walls rose up, surrounding and smothering them.

"Moxie and Kirishima have been eliminated." Recovery Girl announced.

"No way, Moxie lost the practical?" Jiro looked up from her hiding spot behind a tree, "I was sure he was a shoe in."

As the tests progressed, Moxie and Kirishima were brought to the Recovery Tent to rest, completely spent from the fight. Most of them passed, although some, like the duo of Sero and Sato, lost in the end.

"Moxie and Kirishima lost in the end, huh?" Hiryu mumbled, trying to figure out where to put the band-aid on her forehead without a mirror.

"Here, let me." Shoji took the band-aid, placing it gently on her forehead, "And yeah, it seems Cementoss wore them both down in the end."

"I-It always seemed like Moxie had limitless stamina." Hiryu touched the band-aid on her forehead, blushing a little bit.

"Indeed." Shoji nodded, taking a seat to watch how the rest of the exams turned out.

Yep! Moxie lost in the end! Poor him, he was so confident that he could crush the practical, but Cementoss just overwhelmed him.

Moxie's got a lot of stamina, but smashing through dozens of concrete walls will wear anyone out. His feet are probably aching after all of that.

He could've just bounced out and over, but he'd have to leave Kirishima behind, and of course he'd never do that. But what was that move Hiryu pulled out? The results of her training with Gang Orca? Perhaps.

Next time, the gang goes shopping, and then heads out for the summer camp.

Enigma, signing off.
