Third Person POV

Today was the Tourney game against the Sherwood Falcons. The school day ended early because the classes were shortened due to the game, so Jay and Jude decided to go and get some ice cream and talk about what's been going on. The two walked with their arms around each other, and anytime someone looked at them, especially Jude, in the wrong way, Jay would give them a dirty look. He was the oldest in the group and was protective over all of them, and they were all protective over Carlos as he was the youngest. The two best friends walked into the small ice cream parlor on campus and both ordered a cup of chocolate, suggested by Carlos. The two sat down together, enjoying the cold treat as they talked about their time in Auradon.

"Do you like it here? I mean, it's definitely a lot better than the Isle." Jude asked.

"Yeah, kinda. I guess it's kind of refreshing not having someone yelling at us every time we do something."

"Or when we're not doing anything at all."

"Yeah. I mean, I do kind of miss my dad, but I think he had me around because he just wanted someone to do his dirty work for him. We never had an actual father-son relationship." Jay looked down with a sad expression. Jude decided to comfort him by putting her hand on top of his and looked him in the eyes.

"I get it. You know how my parents are, not just with me but with my siblings as well. If they're not there for us as parents should be, then it's not worth it. And besides, if this doesn't work out and our parents come after us, then whatever. Us and the group, we're the only family that we're ever gonna need."

Jay smiled as he gripped Jude's hand, thinking about how she was right. The two got up to leave the parlor, and Jay brought her in for a hug, something they don't do very often, especially on the Isle.

"Thanks, little sis."

"No problem, big bro." They left and went outside where the picnic tables were, meeting the others at their lockers because Mal had the cookies they were going to give Ben and Ian.

"Look, It's Mal." "Hi, Mal! Love my hair, Mal!" She heard some of the girls say as they all played with each other's hair.

"Are you feeling kind of weird about this?" Jay asked as Jude opened her locker, putting a few things away.

"He's right. I mean, It's not so bad here, you know." She said.

"Are you two insane? Long live evil! You're mean! You're awful! You're bad news! Snap out of it!" Mal said as she snapped her fingers in our faces and she gave her one of the cookies.

"Thanks, Mal. I needed that."

"Do you think they actually paid for those?" Jude heard Audrey whisper to Ben and Ian while she and Jay went to the railing and talked to the girls.

"Oh, hello. The name's Jay. You all going to the tourney game tonight?"

"Yeah."

"Keep a lookout for number eight and seven, all right? Teaming up and scoring the winning goal." Jude rolled her eyes cause it was obvious he was trying to flirt with them. She just walked away and grabbed her gym bag with her tourney uniform from her locker.

"She did it to Jane's hair, too, and Fairy Godmother's not happy about it." Audrey said.

"What's the harm?" Ian asked her.

"It's gateway magic! Sure, it starts with the hair. Next thing you know It's the lips and the legs and the clothes and then everybody looks good and then... where will I be?"

"Snobby brat, much?" Jude whispered to Mal, who chuckled.

"Listen, Audrey..." Ben tried to say, but was interrupted.

"I will see you at the game after my dress-fitting for the coronation, okay?" Audrey said before leaving. "Bye, Bennyboo. Bye, brother."

"Okay. Bye." He said before Mal and Jude shut their lockers

Jude POV

"Hey, Bennyboo!" "Hey brother." Mal and I said, mocking Audrey.

"Hey." They greeted.

"Can I talk to you Ian? Privately?" Mal asked. "I won't take up too much of your time. I know you have to get ready for the game."

"Uh, yeah. Sure." He responded and the two walked away.

"The others and I just made a batch of cookies. Double chocolate chip, do you want one?" I asked holding up the cookies to Ben.

"Oh, I, uh, you know we've got a big game. I don't eat before a big game. But thank you so, so much. Thank you. Next time. Next time."

"No, yeah. I completely understand. "Be careful of treats offered by kids of villains.

"No, no, no." He tried to say.

"No, I'm sure every kid in Auradon knows that." I keep going, trying to guilt trip him.

"No, that's not it. No, no, no, I... I really do..."

"No, I get it. You're cautious. That's smart. Oh, well, more for me, I guess." I say before putting the cookie toward my mouth before Ben snatched it out of my hand and took a bite out of it.

"No, no. Hey... see that? Totally trust you. Totally."

"How are they?"

"They're good. They're great! They're amazing! They're, uh... I mean, they're chewy and, and you know, they... is that walnuts?" I nodded. "I love walnuts. I mean, uh, you know, the... The chocolate... The... the chocolate... The chocolate chips are... I'm sorry. Um... Uh, they're... They're warm and soft. And they're sweet... Jude, have you always had those little golden flecks in your eyes?" He rambled before making eye contact with me. I took the cookie away from him before he could take another bite, because that would possibly counteract the spell.

"How you feeling, bro?" Jay asked.

"I feel... I feel... I feel like... Like singing your name. Jude, Jude." He started before I covered his mouth to stop him from continuing. Jay and I pulled Ben away from the lockers to get ready for the game.

"This is a nail-biter, folks. There's 47 seconds left on the clock. We're all tied up. The Sherwood falcons, two. The fighting knights, two. What a game between Auradon's fiercest rivals." The announcer said as he watched over the game. Coach was making substitutions as Chad ran onto the field.

"Go get them, Chad." Jay said as another player came to the sidelines.

"Thanks, Jay." He said before quickly glaring at me, still not happy about a girl, especially one who was better than him at tourney, on the team.

"The teams get into their huddles and take up positions along the kill zone.

The dragoneers have been laying down a withering hail of fire."

"Akiho! Aziz!" Coach called as two more ran toward us.

"You're up."

"Coach, how about our buddy here?" I asked.

"Oh, no. Not so sure about that."

"Coach, he's been practicing." Jay tried to vouch. "And you said yourself a team is made up of a bunch of parts."

"Jay, I'm not that good." Carlos tried to say.

"Well, he's kind of like our brain." I said.

"Amir. You heard him. Get out there!"

"Don't worry, bro. I got your back." Jay told Carlos as we got onto the field.

"How about my front?" Carlos said nervously.

"Pfft. Get out there." I told him as we separated.

"He's bringing those hothead kids, Jay and Judith, in from the Isle of the Lost and that little guy Carlos can barely hold a shield. When they break from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tipoff is ready. Here we go. Long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes off to prince Adrian. Nice little block by Carlos. He does a little dancing jig in his opponent's face. And now Jay gets the ball back, passing to Judith. Here comes Jay! Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field."

"Jude, I'm open." Ben called before I passed the ball.

"Judith makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the kill zone. Big block by Chad! Prince Adrian moves over wide, gives it back to Jay. He's in the clear! Shot! Oh, what a save by Philip the Falcons' goalkeeper!"

"Come on! All right, all right, let's do it!" Ben said as he patted our shoulders.

"23 seconds left. You could cut the tension with a sword. The long ball is played into Jay. Jay, great jump, great leap. And a great move by Jay. Big block from Chad. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. And then Carlos with a big block, goes down. Jay through the kill zone, picks up Carlos. Oh, he's being hammered by dragon fire. Still, going on. Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field. He's in the clear. The ball goes back to Jay, who passes it off to Judith."

"Hey, Jude!" Carlos called.

"Carlos?"

"Go up!" He says as he knocks the ball into the air with his shield. I use him as a step before catching the ball and passing it to Jay.

"Jay! Ben!" I called.

"Jay passes to prince Ben. He scores! Prince Ben has won it! What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Jay, Judith, and Carlos, who set up the prince for the win here. What a victory! An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever. Here they come, folks. The winners of the first tourn..." The announcer said before Ben took the microphone from him. I had ended up going to the stands to quickly talk to the girls before, whatever Ben's about to do, started happening.

"Excuse me. Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please? There's something I'd like to say. Give me an "J"!

"J!" Everyone shouted, making me feel as if I was going to go deaf.

"Give me a 'U'"

"U!"

"Give me a 'D'"

"D!"

"Give me an 'E'"

"E!"

"What does that spell?"

"Jude!"

"I love you, Jude! Did I mention that?" Ben said, which caused Lonnie, Evie, and Mal to look at me smiling while Audrey to look hurt.

"Give me a beat." Ben told the band.

"Uno, dos, tres, cuatro." Doug shouted out as the band began playing.

"Oh, my God! Cookie!" Evie said, laughing.

"What was in that cookie?"

"I love you, Jude! Did I mention that?" Ben said after he crowd surfed up to the girls and I.

"Only a few hundred times." I said sarcastically as he hugged me.

"Chad's my boyfriend now! And I'm going to the coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date." Audrey said after snatching the microphone away from Ben and kissing Chad, as if anyone cared.

"Jude, will you go to the coronation with me?" Ben asked, snatching the microphone back from Audrey.

"Yes!"

"She said yes!" He yelled. Gee, he's acting as if I said yes to marry him. When he said that, Audrey ran back down the bleachers, taking Chad with her.

"Let's go, guys. The whole team's waiting for you two." Jay said, coming and getting us from the stands.

"I'll be down in a minute." I said as they walked back down to the field.

"I feel really sorry for Audrey." Mal said, surprising Jude and Evie.

"You do?"

"Yeah. I feel like if she were talented like you, and she knew how to sew and knew beauty tips, that she wouldn't need a prince to make her feel better about herself."

"I guess I am kind of talented."

"You are definitely gifted." Jude told her.

"Thanks girls."

"Hey, I just remembered. What happened with the cookie and Ian?"

"I know he's under the spell, but I don't know why he's not acting like Ben is right now."

"It probably just affected him differently. I got to go. See ya." I went back onto the field while the team was celebrating.

"What a victory. What a day for the Auradon knights, finally winning back the trophy after so many years." The team gave Jay and I the trophy and suddenly lifted us onto their shoulders as we all cheered.

"And there they are. Jay and Judith, the most valuable players. How do you like that?"
