The white Whale roared as it advanced into the battlefield at a height of several hundred feet. That was too high for any ground troops to reach even those with enhanced physicality so the plan began at Phase I. Senku and Rem advanced on Patrasche Rem was to guide Patrasche and Senku focused on pulling the whale, giving Signals and calculating when to fire for an accurate hit. The artificial sun was fired and the battle began. To pull the White whale Senku yelled, "I can rev-" t this incantation caused the whale to drop it's altitude almost immediately.
This brought two emotions in the eyes of all onlookers, "Maybe they really stood a chance against it what was known as a calamity itself." Once low enough Senku lit off a flare in his hands using his fire magic, He chose Calcium as the perfect substance because it's flares were closest to strontium or red which would deviate the least in case the Whale was to cast it's mist. The signal however had more meaning because on ignition one could hear a loud boom the artillery fired and it was a perfect hit into the Whale's open mouth it dug into the Whale's flesh and caused it to shut it's mouth momentarily swallowing the shells. Right after the impact Senku veered right the Whale too, seemingly ignoring the entire mini army in front of it veered left but the moment it showed it's side to the army, All 6 mana cannons, all the mages fired at once on it's exposed side. This made it scream in pain. The outer tough layer now weakened on the left side was a weakness that could be exploited for the rest of the battle.
The Whale came closer to the ground to almost touching it while tailing Patrasche. This however would cost the whale dearly. A lot of the melee attackers jumped onto the whale among them one was very easily seen Willhelm he Sword demon whose stories were indeed true. He dug a blade into it's left side and ran pulling it with him this made the Whale's blood gush out in a visible stream, this would have been incredibly toxic but they had a antidote with them so slight exposure wasn't going to be a problem. The whale squealed in pain but the attack didn't stop Ricardo and two seemingly children like Demi humans let out screams that for lack of better words were sonic cannons. Senku then gave a second signal flare denoting to shift back to Phase one by now they had drawn a circle with the Whale chasing them it's left side completely lacerated by the onslaught of the force. The whale had become slower and sluggish in it's behaviour. As soon as they turned back to face the army the melee fighters got off. Once again facing them the Whale decided to take to the skies but before that the flare was ignited and two more shot's were fired this time however they were targeting the open wounds on the left as Senku had ordered these shots weren't however aimed to directly hit the Whale but to graze and explode after extended contact this completely rended the flesh there. The reason was simple directly administered cyanide is much more toxic. This changed the Whale's eye colour as it shifted into attack mode.
It let out a wail and pores opened up on it's right unscathed half letting out large amounts of mist. Senku however had a contingency plan for this occasion the moment it started letting out the mist everyone fled back to the main group. This would be disastrous under normal circumstances but it was necessary for just one reason if they were forgotten there was no guarantee he could restore them it had once happened with the merchant caravan and if it happened here no one would know but the guilt would never leave him. Once they had crossed the ditch that had been dug into the spot beforehand A mage set fire to it the fire spread and all the fluid in the ditch caught fire and there was a tall wall of fire burning. The mist approached slowly hugging the ground near the wall but for some reason it didn't cross the flames.
Senku: The principal of convection, or hot air being lighter and flowing upwards creating a vacuum for more air to flow and to keep on cycling.
This time was enough for the army to regain composure and Crusch's hundred man strike warded off the smoke but what they saw next was something Senku didn't have contingency plan for. Despair descended on the soldiers, T-Th-there are 2 more whales! When the smog cleared in front of them were not 1 but 3 whales circling in the sky. Then two of them descended on the battlefield. They were told to scatter by Ms Crusch and on her orders the army split up and avoided the dive attack of 2 of the whales. The cannons were deserted which meant most of the fire power was lost.
Senku began thinking, multiple whales my ass, these are all much smaller than the original one and one of them is right up there. This is obviously some trick now we have to check some things! Rem took Senku to the cannons. They were adjustable and so he lined up the shots with the eyes of one of the two whales. And it was blinded with the schrapnel and cyanide from the artillery completely destroying its eyes. Strangely enough the whale could still find and attack the many soldiers nearby even if it was too loud to discern their location.
Senku (Grinning): This means just one thing, that one up there is the original one and is giving a bird's eye view to these 'lackeys' down here. Senku fired up the conversing mirror and told Crusch a new plan of action. After some thought they agreed to the plan of action although it was an understatement to call it a perilous plan. Trying to blow the tree up to fall on the whale according to Senku was a waste and a lot of factors like grain size, density and tensile and compressive strength would end up determining the angle of the fall making it too unreliable. However there was something else they could pull off with the tree and their old friend the ultra powerful explosive, nitroglycerine and a factor had gave them an opening precisely for it.
This new plan was possible just because the other cloned whales were almost immobile at this point, when the whale split it transferred most of the poison to them as well, however splitting to smaller sizes wasn't a good idea not that the whale would know it but the poison that was just about lethal in the normal whale was several times the lethal dose in these lite whales or so that Senku chose to call them they wouldn't last beyond a few more minutes and their new easier to read sluggish movements meant that it was getting hard to even get hit by the whale.
"Now!" Senku yelled I can revive m- the taboo activated releasing a ton of miasma. Normally the whales strafing at the ground would catch up to him but in their slowed down state the quickest way for the whale would be the one the whale would take. A move based on instinct rather than one based on understanding, this would prove rather costly for it. There was no safe way to get up to the whale to aggro it to the ground, Rem offered to shoot him with an icicle but Senku wasn't too keen on the idea for obvious reasons other than the risk of his organs rupturing due to the insane G forces such a launch would put on it. As it dove down Another carriage with all the nitroglycerine lined behind Senku, the whale opened its mouth wide at that signal the ground dragon disconnected itself from the cart approaching from the hind, slowing it the cart approached the whale which swallowed it.
Senku: The Nitroglycerine is frozen now and won't explode easily but in the case of such a large animal it's internal heat must be thawing it right now, the countdown for it's death has begun!
AN: I just realised I shelved this thing for too long am sorry, I am going to write up the rest of the season, the witch cult attack does happen I haven't forgotten the timeline is just plain messed up because unlike Subaru Senku doesn't stay in the capital for 3 days. So yeah he is gonna face the cult alone. The reason I don't feel like going ahead is because of how bad the synergy seems to be working out. Rbd is a power that thrives on trial and error. Senku gets most things right by the second attempt itself, I am also having the issue of no one being able to communicate freely with senku. While that could've been mitigated by adding Subaru that brought a new problem on who should I focus more, frankly am more confused on this than the sciency stuff. Another problem is my style of writing is just so Encyclopedia like a struggle to write it in this form.
So I wanted to know, do I write this same thing ahead, or do I re write it with Subaru?
Help cause am just a science guy who is a bad writer.
