A Tiny Problem

Epilogue

From the private journal of Edward T. Malone, entry dated June 24th, 1923:

I saw her today. It was only for a moment, as she drifted by high above in the balloon, but it was enough to know that she is alive. I don't think she saw me, and I could not discern whether the others were with her. I can't stop thinking about it, about her. I wonder what she was doing in the balloon. Has she found her way back to them? Are the others still searching for a way off the plateau? I wonder. It makes me think that perhaps it's time to go home.
