CHAPTER 13: One Angry Kitty

I walked into the hallway that our rooms were in. As I was walking in, I couldn't remember where my room was. Seeing 2 doors open on my left, I decided to enter the first door.

I saw paintings hung up on the walls which made me realize that I was probably in the wrong room. That and the Crane's voice kinda confirmed my suspicions.

"Can I help you?"

I jumped as I turned to see Crane standing in front of me.

"Master Crane. I am so sorry for barging in. I couldn't remember which room was mine." I said.

"No need to be sorry Captain. Your room is the one next to me on the left."

"Cool. Thanks." I said as I was leaving.

"Actually Captain. It's a good thing you came in, I wanted to speak to you."

I felt a bit nervous, especially after what I said in the dining hall earlier.

"Oh, sure. What's up?"

"I know things got kinda screwed up earlier with, well...you know."

I nodded.

"So, I wanted to say that I also agree with Viper on how we should be actually seeing this as a promising future, and with seeing you on the course earlier, you have potential of turning this mess into something good."

"Really?"

"Absolutely. I think you have more than enough skill and experience for this."

"Wow, thanks Master Crane."

"Please, just Crane is fine. Same for the others, since we are teammates and partners now."

"That is true. Well again thank you Crane for the compliments, I really appreciate it."

"Anytime John."

"Well, I'm headed off to bed. See ya tomorrow yeah?"

"Sure thing, however before you go I have a small proposal to ask of you." Crane said.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"During breakfast tomorrow, maybe we should all get to know who our new teammate is. That way we will be able to know you better and vice versa."

"Hey, that sounds like a good idea."

"So it's settled then, see you tomorrow."

"You too Crane." I said leaving his room once again.

Not gonna lie, I felt really flattered with my talk with Crane. He really is a good dude. Will really be cool to work with him by my side.

I made it to my door and was just about to open it when the door behind opens. It was Tigress.

"Oh, evening Tigress."

"You don't belong here." she said

I was taken back.

"Umm, here in your room because if so then I am aware of that since it's your room and I don't want to invade your privacy." I said

"No. You don't belong in the Jade Palace. You may have some fighting experience but this is where the best of the best live, train and spar. What I see in you is not that. What I see is someone who doesn't take this seriously and simply will make this into a game. So…do us all a favor and be gone by tomorrow, that is if you have any respect for who we are and what we do." She then shut the door on me.

'What a bitch. And to think I looked up to her.'

I turned to face my room again where Viper was sitting there giving me this 'just allow it' look. I then decided to show her who she was messing with.

"Whatever you say, pussy cat." I smirked. Judging by the gasps from the others and the doors reopening followed by a very angry growl, I think I touched a very sensitive nerve. I turned to face her and oh boy was she pissed.

"What? Wasn't expecting someone whom you just insulted to insult you back? Oh but it's ok for you to do it and have no consequences because you're "The Master Tigress." Well lemme be real with you, that ain't gonna work with me. You see, if someone dares to insult me, they better expect to be hit back." I stood my ground.

"You dare try to mock me, you don't even know me!"

"I've known you long enough to see that you are a nothing more than a selfish cunt."

"Really, I'm selfish?"

"Best example I can think of was today, when that pig decided to try being funny. You had him right in front you, yet didn't do shit. I on the other hand decided to take care of him because I didn't want him to get his ass thrown off the mountain."

"When are you gonna get over the fact that what you did today wasn't anything heroic. Now I know you're not a threat with the others, but you better stop pretending that you are a hero."

"A hero, like you? Wake up and look around you Tigress. Everything that you have here was practically given to you on a silver platter and you know it."

That broke the camel's back as she was just about to swing her fist at me, until Viper stopped her.

"Ok that's enough! John go to room and wait for me. Tigress, get in your room and let me have a word with you."

I simply smirked as Tigress gave me the death stare. I then opened the doors to my room and I saw that my stuff had arrived.

'Hmm, someone brought my shit sooner than I thought. Cool'

I then saw a letter on my bed. I took a look and read what it said.

Dear John,

I heard about what had happened and knew you were in for a wild ride. After Humphrey told me you needed your stuff, I decided to help him out and bring it here. Viper and I set it up the way we think you will like. Hopefully me and Lilly can see you very soon.

'Hopefully soon Kate, hopefully soon.'

"As you can see, Kate showed up earlier." Viper said

"And you didn't even tell me. How could you?" I said mockingly. She rolled her eyes.

"I told her you weren't in the best of moods."

"It's all good Viper, was just kidding."

"Now for what happened with Tigress was rather uncalled for on both sides."

"Really now, considering she was the one who practically wanted me to quit out of everyone here."

"Just ignore her John, besides it will take some time for you to get even with her. That's just how she is."

"Well, if I am being honest with you Viper, I don't think she really means what she said. Although it was harsh and uncalled for, she is still pretty pissed off about today and I can see that her anger is the one talking. I've seen it before with my brother in laws. They didn't first see eye to eye when they first met, but after talking to each other, they became best buds ever since."

"I agree with you there. Considering with the others, they seemed to have gotten over it rather quickly that you were picked. And to top it off, they seemed impressed with you today."

"That's a bonus there too. Well I'm about to get some shut eye. See ya tomorrow Viper."

"You too John. Don't forget, when the gong goes off tomorrow, you greet Shifu immediately. Pretty much like what you saw earlier."

"Fully noted, thanks Viper."

With that, she left my room. As for me, I took a quick look around before taking off my shirt, pants and socks before hopping in my bed and closing in for the night.
