Chapter 13

Danny's horse walked to a smaller part of the river, where he could smell a familiar scent. He walked into the shallow part of the river and smelled at the water, trying to discover the source of the smell when suddenly a hand popped out and grabbed hold of the reins.

The horse jumped back in fright but then stopped when he pulled the hand out more to reveal Danny! He was alive! He coughed as he was pulled out of the river by his horse, he was weak from being in the river for so long. His jacket was gone and the sleeves from his shirt and on one side of his jeans, were ripped up to his knee.

The horse pulled him back onto the land, where he lay and breathed heavily. Relieved to be alive. His horse bent its head down to him and he weakly patted it on his face and said, "Good horse."

Wes stood in the royal palace of Qui Gong. Several citizens gathered, expecting to see the Princesses of the Middle Kingdom with him, but were surprised to see only Wes standing before Lady Pamela. Wes had explained what happened in Bandit Country and then told him that the Princesses were gone.

"What do you mean they're gone?" Lady Pamela asked, shocked to hear such news.

"There was an accident Lady Pamela. The royal carriage fell into the river and was destroyed." Wes answered.

Lady Pamela nodded in understanding and looked down at Wes sympathetically as she said, "A grave loss. Especially for you Wes, losing your fiancé General Danny Fenton must be very hard."

She then looked at her advisors who were shaking their heads. Lady Pamela then sighed and got back to the matter at hand, "But it does not alter my agreement with the Emperor and unless it is honoured, I will sanction no alliance with the Middle Kingdom. A marriage was promised!"

"And a marriage there will be." Wes suddenly said, which made everyone gasped in shock.

Wes bowed in respect and finished, "If my lord permits it, I would be honoured to marry a Prince or princess of Qui Gong for the Middle Kingdom."

Lady Pamela was about to protest when one of his advisors came up and said quietly, "My lady! Think about it, this is Wesley Weston the Hero of China. A jewel in your crown far dearer than three mere princesses."

Lady Pamela looked at her other advisors who all nodded in agreement. Lady Pamela smiled as she thought about it once more and then spoke to Wes, "This is not what was agreed however, the Golden Dragon of Unity smiles upon you today and in view of the tragedy I accept your offer."

Wes gave her a small smile as she continued, "You will make a fine groom to my daughter, Samantha Manson."

The gongs rang and the guards moved from a doorway, where a sixteen year old human girl with black hair who was applying black lipstick. She turned to see everyone staring at her and put the lipstick away in nervousness.

Sam then looked at Wes and complained, "This is him? He's so old!"

Wes gave an unsure look but didn't say anything. It was too late to back out now.

As the sun began to set, Dash, Kwan, Tucker, Star, Valerie and Paulina all looked at Qui Gong on the very tall hill, wondering what Wes was planning.

"Wes said he was going to finish the mission no matter what." Dash said.

"But how can he without us?" Paulina asked.

"By taking your place." A voice answered and they turned to see Danny sitting on his horse behind them.

They all cheered and ran towards him. He smiled back and even Dash was so excited and relieved to see his commanding officer and friend was still alive, he kissed the horse.

Danny stopped smiling and said, "Wes was right. No-one should marry someone they don't love. I'm going to Qui Gong."

"We'll come with you." Valerie said, but Danny refused and said sternly, "No you're not. Stay here."

And he took off, heading to Qui Gong. Tucker then asked thoughtfully, "Would you say that was an order?"

Kwan smiled and answered, "I would say, that it was a friendly suggestion."

Without wasting another minute, they all ran heading to the city of Qui Gong to hopefully stop the wedding from taking place.

Wes was all dressed in a beautiful green and black tuxedo. His hair was tied up in a bun, placed black headpiece with a dark red rose in his hair. However, he was definitely not smiling for he was about to marry someone he didn't love in order to serve the Emperor and protect the Middle Kingdom.

At least this way, Wes was protecting the princesses as well and allowing them to be with the ones they loved he thought in his head. Even if it meant that he couldn't now, since his love was gone forever.

"Looks like we won't be a team after all Dora." She said sadly.

Dora continued to look down as Wes picked up the groom hat and placed it on his head. Dora gave Wes a hug as she said, "Oh Wes, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault and if I could, I would give up a thousand pedestals to stop this."

Wes hugged her back but then stopped as he heard the sound of a horn, meaning it was time for the wedding to start.

Wes then said, "I don't think even the Golden Dragon of Unity could stop this now. Goodbye Dora."

Wes walked over to the door and stood as it opened, the crowd awed at his handsomeness. He didn't smile the whole time as he walked slowly down the stairs on the side and walked towards Lady Pamela and Princesses Samatha Manson who were standing at the front of a huge statue of the Great Golden Dragon of Unity.

Sam was once applying black lipstick, due to totally boredom waiting for Wes. Sam saw Wes and quickly hid his her lipstick in her large sleeves of her wedding dress and stood at attention.

Lady Pamela held up two cups of water and announced to the people, "My people, the Golden Dragon of Unity who guides us in all we do, today sanctifies a union that will be a blessing for all of Qui Gong."

Dora and Cujo watched from behind the statue as he handed one of the cups to Wes and then handed the other young to Sam Manson, who sheepishly revealed the lipstick in her hand much to her mother's displeasure. Wes looked down at the water in the cup and couldn't help but let out one last tear of sadness.

Cujo whined at Dora who whispered back, "Of course I want to stop this! But what can I do?"

Lady Pamela then tied a sash in between the two cups as Wes and Sam held them up high as she continued, "With the tying of this sash, we shall unite not only two lives but two kingdoms!"

Suddenly a shuriken came flying right past, ripping the ribbon in half and making everyone gasp in shock. They all turned to see Danny was the one who threw the shuriken and started riding up to the alter.

"It's General Danny Fenton! / He's alive!" The people began to speak.

"Alright! Danny to the rescue! And lucky for Lady Pamela, because I was about to whip her butt!" Dora cheered.

Wes smiled and couldn't believe it! His fiancé was alive! As soon as Danny got off his horse, Wes ran over to him and gave him a huge tight hug which he turned.

"You're alive!" Wes said happily.

Danny smiled back and said, "I couldn't let you get married without me."

Lady Pamela however was not happy by this and immediately stormed over and pushed Wes away from Danny as she commanded, "General Danny Fenton! This is outrageous! You will leave at once."

"I'm not going anywhere." Danny said firmly.

Wes gasped and then asked quietly as he stood beside Danny, "What are you doing?"

Danny smirked and answered, "I don't know. I'm sort of making this up as I go along."

"How dare you trample upon this sacred ceremony?!" Lady Pamela once again spoke in outrage.

Dora was now panicking! She then spoke, "Oh my gosh! She's gonna lower the hammer on Danny! Where's the dang Golden Dragon of Unity when you need him?!"

Cujo then began to bark as he looked at the statue and pointed up. Dora turned and looked up as well, realising they were standing on the statue of the Golden Dragon of Unity. She then smiled as an idea came to mind. She grabbed Cujo and flew right up to the statue's mouth, getting ready.

Danny held Wes close to him as he said to Lady Pamela, "My Lord- I mean Lady Pamela, I love Wes and I don't care what the rules say. If she'll have me, I intend to marry him right here and right now." Sam smiled at this as she said, "Now that's true love."

Wes smiled at Danny and held his hands, but Lady Pamela stood between them and began shouting to the guards, "Insolent dog! Seize him!" Sam tried to intervene by saying, "MOM PLEASE STOP!" but Lady Pamela didn't listen.

"NO! Danny!" Wes shouted as he reached out, but Lady Pamela held him back.

"WES!" Danny shouted as the guards grabbed him.

Danny was about to change into his ghost form, when suddenly a huge amount of fire shot right at them causing everyone to stop and scream in fright. They turned to see the source of the fire coming from the statue's mouth.

"Yo! What's with all the drama?!" Dora's voice could be heard.

Lady Pamela gasped in complete shock as she believed it was the Great Golden Dragon of Unity, "HE LIVES! THE GREAT GOLDEN DRAGON OF UNITY LIVES!"

Wes smirked as he knew who it really was and said quietly, "Dora."

Lady Pamela bowed right to the ground and bowed in respect, including Tucker, Valerie, Dash, Paulina, Star, and Kwan who were hiding amongst the crowd. The girls placed on different clothes and put caps on, dressing up like boys just like Wes did and they were going to help when Dora to speak, they too believing it was the Great Golden Dragon of Unity.

"Oh you dang right I live!" Dora spoke again. "Now why aren't we busting out the vows already?"

"But your Greatness, Danny Fenton is not a son of Qui Gong…." Lady Pamela tried to explain.

Dora breathed fire at him once again, making her jump in fright as she spoke again, "SILENCE! I am the Golden Dragon of Unity! And I decide whom to unify!"

Lady Pamela nodded in fright. Dora continued as Wes and Danny held each other close, "My all-seeing eyes has peered into the very heart of China, and I have never seen two people more right for each other than this couple right here. Danny Fenton and Wes Weston. Give it up for them everyone."

Everyone cheered for Danny and Wes. Dora then ordered Lady Pamela, "Now I command you to proceed at once!"

Lady Pamela nodded and said, "Yes your Greatness! As you command!"

"Wes Weston, do you love Danny Fenton?" Dora asked Wes.

Wes looked into Danny's eyes and answered, "I do with all of my heart."

"Danny Fenton, do you love Wes Weston?" Dora then asked Danny.

"Forever and always." Danny answered, caressing Wes's cheek lovingly.

"Then by the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you married. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr and Mr Fenton!" Dora then announced and the crowd cheered. "And you Lady Pamela, will still honour the agreement and make alliance with the Middle Kingdom."

"Yes sir! Whatever you say." Lady Pamela said, not wanting to make the spirit angry.

Lady Pamela got back up and looked at Wes and Danny, realising that the Great Golden Dragon of Unity was right. Wes and Danny belonged with one another and she wasn't going to stop them. Sam smiled at her mother and the black lipstick, which she thought it looked nice on her.

Dora then made one final announcement, "And furthermore, I hereby decree that the Princesses of the Middle Kingdom, are released from their vow and may marry whom they ever may please. And who pleases them, that's very important."

Paulina and Dash kissed, Valerie and Tucker kissed and then Star and Kwan kissed, rejoicing in their union. Wes and Danny then kissed each other passionately on the lips, never to be apart again causing the crowd to cheer for their marriage and their kingdoms being united.
