Family Can Come As If By Magic

Chapter 13

Sofia was busy trying to do her homework for school, but she could not focus and got annoyed when she had been reading the same word for the last five minutes.

Closing the book with a frustrated huff, she got up from her desk and decided to do something fun, before she lost her mind from boredom.

Looking around her room, she spots her paint kit that her Papa had given to her at her birthday and she enjoyed painted pictures of her friends, family, animals and anything that she wanted to paint.

But today she decided that instead of painting on a piece of paper or canvas like she was suppose too, she decides that her purples walls are lacking anything fun and interesting so she starts to paint a scene of her family and friend playing in grassy fields with a bright and cheerful sun in a equally bright cloudless blue sky.

She was so wrapped up in her work that she did not hear the knock on her door or the sound of it opening, until she was startled quite badly, by her Papa exclaiming.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Cedric yells in shock.

Sofia finally turns to face to her unhappy Papa, who had his arms crossed as he stares her, waiting for an explaination.

"I-I was making my room pretty, by painting a picture."
Even to Sofia that answer was lame and she already knew that she was in trouble.

Cedric sighs as he uncrosses his arms and lets them fell to the side as he carefully looks at the picture and his stern expression softens.

"Next time let me know if you want to paint on your walls so that I can put a magical paint sealing spell on to prevent damage."

Sofia stares at her Papa in shock as she thought that she got off lightly.

As if sensing her thoughts, Cedric looks at Sofia onces more with a stern look.

"But I still want you to clean this one off and you are not allow to paint for a week, am I understood."

"Yes Papa, I am sorry."

Sofia hugs Cedric around his waist, which the man returns.

"All is forgiven, just don't make this a habit, I don't want to have to punish you, just ask me next time."

Sofia nods as Cedric conjures a bucket filled with soapy water, a couple of scrub brushes and rags.

Sofia looks confused when Cedric starts to pick up one of the brushes and starts to wash away the paint.

"Grab a brush and start scrubbing."

Sofia quickly grabs the other brush and starts to scrub the wall too, only to realize that the painting was bigger then she thought.

2 hours later finds the father and daughter duo laiding in Sofia's bed, both tired from cleaning paint off a stone wall.

"I am so very sorry, Papa." Sofia said tirely as she snuggles into her Papa's side.

Cedric sighs tirely as he gently rubs Sofia's back in the hopes of calming her of any insecurities that she still might have.

"I have already forgiven you, my dear, you did a naughty thing, but you owned up to it, instead of trying to lie or hide away from it."

Cedric gives the girl a kiss ontop of her head as she falls asleep, and follows suit, soon they were both fast asleep.

After a much needed rest Cedric woke up and carefully gets out from under his still sleeping daughter, making sure that she was still tucked in sercurely in bed, grabbing the painting kit and leaving to go put it away in his magical truck that was hidden in his bedroom closet.

Onces that was done he decided that he need to check his potions stocks to see if anything needed to be replaced or restocked onces more.

Looking in his many drawers, he makes a list of potions that need to restocked and ingredients that needed to be replenished once again.

"Papa?" A sleepy voice caught his attention and he smiles alittle as he sees Sofia standing in the doorway rubbing her eyes tirely.

"Did you have a good nap, my dear." Cedric asked as he made his way towards the still sleepy child.

Sofia nods, before letting out a jaw cracking yawn.

Looking at the clock, he saw that it was almost dinner time.

"Go get changed into some warmer clothe, and let's have pinic dinner."

Sofia perks up with excitiment when she heard that.
"REALLY! YAY!"

Cedric chuckles as he watches the girl race up the stairs to go get dressed for dinner.

A few moments later both Cedric and Sofia were walking outside in the royal gardens with a large basket of food and a large pinic blanket in hand.

"Here a perfect spot, Papa." Sofia said standing in clear and open area of the garden.

"A good find, my dear." Cedric phraises as they spread the blanket out and Cedric conjures some small stones to keep it secure on the ground.

"Let's see what the royal kitchen packed for us, some eggsalad sandwiches, Peanut butter and Jelly Sandwiches, Chicken with Tomatoe or cucumber sandwiches and a bowl of grapes, oranges, apples and for dessert Fly cakes and ice cream, and for drinks we have blueberry juice."

Sofia choose an Eggsalad sandwich, some grapes and Blueberry juice, while Cedric chooses a Chicken cucumber sandwich, along with an apple and some blueberry juice.

"That was the most yummy dinner I ever had, can we do this again please Papa."

Cedric smiles alittle as he grabs a napkin wets down, and tries to clean up the juice and food that covered Sofia's face and hands.

"Yes we can do this again, when the weather is warmer once more, but now I think it's time for little girls to have a bath and get ready for bed and spend sometime with Papa before bed, how does that sound?"
At first Sofia was going to protest the bath and bedtime, but when she heard that she was going to be spending more time with her Papa, she was running ahead of the sorcerer to get ready for her bath.

"Hurry up Papa!" Sofia yells pouting as her Papa was walking at a normal pace, which to her was slow.

Cedric smiles at the cuteness of her pout as she wait impatiently for him.

He picks up her up and walks the rest of the way towards their home.

Once the Sofia was cleaned and dressed they snuggled up to read one of her favorite book, but this time with magical images play out the story, which Sofia loves, but after a while she finally fall asleep on her Papa's lap.

"Let get you to bed."
Cedric carrys the girl up to bed, tucks her in, gives her kiss on the forehead and wishes her goodnight.

"I will always love you, no matter what happens."

Cedric whispers to her sleeping form and leaves the room to go too bed himself.

Later that night

Madeline wonders into Sofia's room and gently shakes her awake until Sofia opens her eyes sleepy and dazed.

"Maddy? What's the matter?" Sofia slurred sleepingly as she saw the smaller girl standing at bedside dragging her unicorn doll in hand.

"Amber snoring too loud and I decided that I would sleep with you, please?" Madeline pleaded with big puppy eyes.

Sofia just scooted over and lifted the covers to let Madeline come in.

"Thank you, Sofia." Madeline said as she snuggles under the covers and was met with a soft snore as a reply.

Smiling Madeline closed her eyes and slept will into the night holding her unicorn in her arms.
