Preface: Hello, again! This next chapter is the second half of the first interlude, and after that, we'll be back up and running...maybe! It all depends on my parents' free time. I plan on uploading two chapters next week, and then alternating that with three chapters. Anyway, let's get back to the action!

MINECRAFT MANIACS RPG

INTERLUDE 1

Previously...while out on a mall trip with one of his friends, Danny took a moment to test out Kevin's new mod, which would allow the players to enter the mysterious world of the Unikingdom. During his excursion, however, he got caught by Unikitty and her brother Puppycorn and, in a panic, teleported back to the real world without a second thought.

Now...he steps out of the shower, refreshed and ready to break out of Unikitty's castle...

Chapter 12:
Enter: Unikitty!, Part Two -
Escape FROM Castle Unikitty!

"Ah, that was nice!"

I walked out of my mom's bathroom, fresh out of the shower. It had been a few hours since I got myself into that pickle in Unikitty's castle, and technically, I was still stuck there. I walked downstairs, where my mom was watching Jeopardy! while my dinner was cooking. "How much longer?" I asked.

"Maybe about...thirty minutes?" she replied.

That's all I need, I thought, walking up to my room. I had put my HoloLens on my bed, and I put it back on, alongside my watch. Once again, I opened up the app, pressed on my watch…

[World Change: Lego Planet U]
[Location Change: Unikingdom, Unikitty's Castle]

...and I found myself in a cage! Bars were around me, and a camera was watching my every move. Luckily, I quickly got an idea. One quick trip back to the real world later, I was chewing on a piece of gum that I quickly took out of my mouth. Aiming carefully between the bars, I threw it right at the camera's lens, covering it up and leaving me free to mine the bars with my pickaxe.

Slowly, but surely, I walked out of the bedroom. For all I knew, whoever trapped me had taken a good amount of precautions. As I crept around, I noticed that despite me being barefoot and everything being made out of Lego, my feet felt fine. Suddenly, I heard a sound that startled me. Looking behind me, I noticed it came from the bathroom. Probably just Unikitty and Puppycorn taking a bath or something, I thought. But then I looked in front of me again, and realized that there was another camera! And then it started beeping. "Specimen escaped," a robotic voice came from it. "Initiate attack robots."

[BGM: Peter Hont - Enderman]

Just then, a black, cubic robot with a red blinking eye came from behind me and punched me in the face. "Gah! Get away!" I shouted, backing up. That's how I realized that there was another one behind me. It grabbed my arm, but I quickly reached into my belt and pulled out my pickaxe. It was the only defensive thing I had on me. I swung it with a huge might in the robot's face, and it shattered to pieces instantly.

That's when I realized I may be better prepared for this than I thought. "Eat pickaxe, bolt brain!" I shouted, swinging it in the other robot's face. Then I began to run. More robots came after me, and I just responded by swinging my pickaxe.

Finally, I got to the last stretch of this bit of the castle. The giant window that represented Unikitty's eyes was right in front of me. Just then, I heard a "Stop right there!"

[BGM: Antimo & Welles - Mob Grinder (103 Credits)]

I turned around, and there was Unikitty's friend Dr. Fox, and she was riding a bigger version of those robots, which had big hands. I shuddered. "Look, I come in peace!" I said. "I'm interested in alchemy, and I came for some sparkle matter and…"

Suddenly, I was grabbed by the robot. "Well, well, well," said Dr. Fox, "you do seem to be from the real world! You may be my key to…"

I interrupted her right then and there. I got my pickaxe out and slammed it right into the hand. By instinct, it deactivated and dropped me on the floor. It hurt, but I was free.

"Okay, then," said Dr. Fox. "Guess you aren't leaving without a fight. No matter. My experimental MegaAttackRoboSuit 3000 is unstoppable!"

"Care to bet?" I said. I reeled back and threw my pickaxe right into the big red eye. All it did was make a small crack and bounce off, but hey, in my defense, those things usually signify weak points.

"You really thought that would work?" Dr. Fox laughed. Using the robot suit, she grabbed a huge bit of furniture and threw it right at me. By instinct, I plowed my pickaxe right through it, and it fell apart by the Lego bricks that they were.

Iiiiiiiiideeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I thought. "You really think that was enough to stop me?" I taunted. "C'mon! Throw something bigger!"

"Very well!" said Dr. Fox. She grabbed some more furniture and threw it at me, and once again, I just swung my pickaxe through it, and it shattered. She did it again, and that was more Lego pieces destroyed.

Quickly, I made a wall of some leftover dirt blocks and hid behind it. Looking at the Lego pieces I had obtained, I noticed I could easily make a big hammer with it. But this wasn't a commercial for Legos. I couldn't build it very fast. Unless…I quickly checked my inventory, and I still had the swiftness potion!

At that instant, my dirt barrier gave way, and Dr. Fox smiled at me sinisterly. "Thought you could hide, huh?" she said.

"Yes," I responded, "but now I have this!" The sweet taste of sugar went down my throat as I gulped the potion. Then, with a big "HEY!" I ran around quickly, and built a giant hammer with my Lego pieces.

Dr. Fox just looked up in horror as I hefted the hammer up and began to bring it down onto her. "Bail! Bail!" she shouted, jumping out of the robot suit just before it was smashed to pieces.

"The new robot smasher set from Lego City!" I said in my best 'narrator' voice. What? I couldn't resist!

"Well, I guess you won this round," said Dr. Fox, "but I still have one more trick up my sleeve." And that's when she took out a ray gun.

"Sorry, but I'm not interested in getting fried!" I said, taking out an ender pearl. I threw it out of the window, and the glass shattered. "As they say in Billund: farvel, Dr. Fox!" I teleported to right in front of the hill the castle stood on. That's when I took off running. I still had about a minute of swiftness left, and I was sure to make it count. I ran all the way back to the portal in the town square as the moon rose and dove right through without looking back.

[BGM: End]

[World Change: Minecraftia]
[Location Change: VR World]

I tumbled out of the portal, due to having dove through. I picked my head up, and instantly saw that a good number of mobs had spawned. I wasn't really in the mood to fight, so I just picked myself up and ran back to my house, shutting the door behind me.

"Well, I got what I came for," I said, taking out the sparkle matter bottles. "Let's see what you bad boys can do."

After making a couple more awkward potions and getting some more milk, I put in the happy sparkle matter first. The result was a yellow potion that the tooltip dubbed "Potion of Positivity." The tooltip also said that it gave regeneration V, swiftness III, and jump boost II. Curiously, I gulped it down, and I swear it tasted like all of my favorite flavors mixed in with rainbows. And it didn't just give me those effects - it made me feel the happiest I had ever felt since I started to constantly feel bad about myself.

I ran outside and began to plow right through the mobs. I ran right into a cave and dug out a huge vein of diamonds with my bare hands and I didn't feel anything! And I ran right back to my house just as it wore off. "That was amazing…" I said, almost out of breath. I put the bottle of angry sparkle matter into the brewing stand and allowed the next potion to brew. Unfortunately, I hadn't realized that I led a huge group of zombies to my house…

The potion was blackish-red and was called a "Potion of Rage." It was said to give me resistance V and strength VI. At that moment, the door burst open and the zombies began to creep in. "Gah! Why do I do this to myself?" I asked. Quickly, I downed the potion, and it low-key tasted like all of my least favorite flavors mixed with literal garbage. And then, I saw red - literally. My vision turned red. And then I gave a big punch to the zombies, and they all died in one hit. But I didn't stop there. I ran outside and delivered a huge punch to a big group of skeletons, gave a massive beatdown to a singular witch, and even ran right into a pillager outpost and killed every single one of them before a single arrow was fired. That's when everything went back to normal.

I trudged back to my house. That potion really took it out of me. "That's enough for today," I decided, tapping on my watch.

[World Change: Real World]
[Location Change: His House]

I took off the HoloLens and began to walk downstairs. "Five minutes," my mom said, referring to my dinner. With the five minutes I had left, I grabbed my phone and began to text Kevin my findings. I told him that the Unikingdom seemed to operate on its own logic, different than normal Minecraft, and the results of the potions. All he sent back was "Cool. Guess me and Buzzer are nearly done."

"When were you planning on heading in for the next Order Gadgets?" I texted back.

"Week before February break?" Kevin responded. I gave a thumbs-up, and he texted, "K. I'll go get Liam in."

After that, I put my phone down and sighed. February break wasn't for another three weeks or so, so that should give the Unikitty characters enough time to forget my visit. Or so I thought…

But once again, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Dr. Fox read the results of the dirt blocks she still had from the odd boy. Her computer spelled out the dimension that the blocks stemmed from and the coordinates of it.

"Amazing," she said, looking at the world of Minecraft for the first time. "It looks like the boy may be an interdimensional traveler himself." She turned towards a ring-like contraption she was working on. "And I may have just cracked the code to dimensional travel, as well."

The first interlude is over! Next time: The Unikitty Saga!

Next chapter: "Not Giving Up Goes a Long Way" Before they enter the Unikingdom, Danny and Liam have a new ally to introduce. This guy's a little turned around and confused, but no matter! He'll be a good help for the Minecraft Maniacs anyway...right? The beginning of The Unikitty Saga!

Postface: Chapter complete! I have to admit: I'm proud of that little Lego City commercial reference halfway through the chapter - I don't care if the meme is dead, I just had to make the joke!

Trivia time! After missing my first two Unikitty stories, Dr. Fox joins the fray! I'll confess: I'm basing my Unikitty stories off of what I've read online, so the MegaAttackRoboSuit 3000 was really my way of depicting how she can be a little eccentric at times, particularly since she trapped Danny and wanted to experiment on him! And the potions of emotion appear, too - I originally just had the user become super-happy or super-angry, but I added the normal Minecraft status effects to intergrate it a little more with the story's world - I wouldn't mind someone modding them in! And keep an eye out - those two things will be important later on!
