Chapter 15
Michelle was able to get the house decorated and they were able to move in. She had a hard time keeping Mike from overdoing, but Kaitlyn was a great help. She was a great helper and Mike loved the one on one time with her. The night after they moved in, Michelle dropped into bed next to Mike, absolutely exhausted.
"I'm never moving again." Michelle announced. Mike wrapped an arm around her and pulled her onto his chest.
"Good, because I don't want to either. We are stuck here, together. You need to rest. You're recovering too." Mike said as he kissed the top of her head.
"I have tomorrow off. I was going to unpack, but I'm kind of thinking a day on the couch with my design magazines and a cup of hot tea sounds too good." Michelle told him.
"And me?" Mike asked.
"You want hot tea and to look at design magazines?" Michelle asked.
"Not particularly, but I wouldn't mind a day on the couch with my wife." Mike answered.
"I think that could be arranged." Michelle said as she cuddled up to Mike. Their bedside lamps were already off and she was beat.
"Get some rest." Mike said as he pulled the blankets over them. In no time; Michelle was sound asleep. Mike took a little longer due to his pain level, and he knew something was off with Michelle. He just couldn't figure out what it was.
The next day, Kaitlyn, Holly and McKenna went to an art festival and Peter was at a class for police academy. It gave Mike and Michelle a chance to cuddle on the couch and Mike decided to bring up what was bothering Michelle.
"Is everything okay? I've noticed you're a bit off." Mike asked.
"You're perceptive." Michelle said as she picked at the blanket.
"You deflect." Mike said before giving Michelle a kiss.
"Kaitlyn asked me a question when we took her shopping. She asked if you and I would have a baby." Michelle answered.
"Can you? I know I can." Mike asked.
"Physically, yes. My doctor would probably want me to wait due to the cancer. I just wasn't sure you wanted to, because of how I look. We haven't…" Michelle said, but Mike interrupted her with a kiss.
"No, we haven't but I'm ready when you are. I will say, I kind of like how we've done things. When a relationship develops as fast as ours, it can be about lust. We fell in love with each other's personalities, not our bodies. When the time comes, it will be right. As far as a baby is concerned, it wouldn't bother me to have another. Is a baby something you want though?" Mike asked.
"Honestly, yes. I want a happy pregnancy with my husband there every step of the way. A delivery with you in the room with me and then spoiling and marveling over our baby. I've never had that and I wasn't sure it was something I could have." Michelle admitted.
"It is definitely something you can have." Mike said before giving her a kiss on the forehead. Michelle cuddled back up into Mike and just let herself relax.
