Shut Up We're Keeping Him

Author's note: Suuup. SOO I know last week I said I was gonna do some angst, but I've had such a shitty week I didn't have it in me to write any bad shit. So here take my fluff (heh literally) instead. As always please feel free to leave a review and let me know of any grammar/spelling mistakes I made so I can fix them. Have fun reading!

"Furuya-kun please!" Harucchi practically begged.

"So let me get this straight, you and Sawamura were taking out the trash, found...this", he jabbed a finger to a bundle of blankets on Harucchi's arms, "and you need my help with it?"

"Yeah basically," Sawamura cast his eyes down, looking slightly embarrassed.

"Please Furuya-kun, if anyone finds out me and Eijun-kun will take all the heat," Harucchi insisted. Furuya sighed, sounding incredibly tired, and dragged his hand down his face.

"Lemme see it again," he muttered. Sawamura strode over to Harucchi and pulled black the bundle of blankets in his arms and a pair of tiny black ears popped out. Furuya leaned in to get a closer look. A little black kitten stared back at him with big yellow eyes. He had to admit, the little fucker was cute...if you negated the amount of trouble they would get for keeping it. He slowly reached out and gave the kitten a scratch behind the ears.

"...Fine, but so help me god, if we get caught I had nothing to do with this," Furuya relented. Both Harucchi and Sawamura beamed at him.

"THANKS, FURUYA!" Sawamura cheered.

"Yeah, thank you so much, we'll keep you out of any trouble!" Harucchi added.

"So what exactly do you need my help for?" Furuya asked.

"Well since Eijun-kun has the best place in his room to keep him, he's gonna set up a place for him to sleep-

"Hold on," Furuya cut Harucchi off, "how do you know it's a he?" Harucchi let out a tiny snicker.

"Well, when Eijun-kun tried to pick him up-"

"THE LITTLE SHIT PISSED ON ME!" Sawamura yelled indignantly. Furuya cackled as he noted the wet spot on Sawamura's shirt.

"Ok, maybe I like this little guy a bit more now," he nuzzled the kitten who was purring happily.

"Anyways he's gonna sleep in Eijun-kun's room, so we need you to help us find some more blankest and a box for him to sleep in," Harucchi said.

"So we are gonna risk the wrath of Kuramochi by not telling him this kitten is sleeping in his room?" Furuya asked with a twinge of fear in his voice.

"Ehh it will be fine," Sawamura assured him, "let's just focus on finding a box for him to sleep in." The three boys headed off, discussing where to find everything they needed.

The spastic text reading 'FUCKKK COME SAVE MEEEEE' from Sawamura, no more than three hours after getting the kitten settled in his room, didn't bode too well for him, Furuya, and Harucchi.

Harucchi and Furuya sprinted to Sawamura and Kuramochi's room. Furuya quickly knocked before opening the door. The scene that greeted them was quite the spectacle.

Sawamura was standing on his bed, cowering in fear from Kuramochi who was screaming at him and gesturing wildly to an overturned box in the middle of the room.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS IT?!" Kuramochi yelled.

"I told you, it's nothingggggg," Sawamura moaned.

"BULLSHIT! IF IT'S NOTHING WHY THE HELL IS IT MOVING?!" Kuramochi jabbed a finger at the box, which quickly scooted a few inches across the floor.

"DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!" Sawamura screamed in a far too fake, cheery, tone.

"YOUR DEAD IDIOT!" Kuramochi roared as he jumped towards Sawamura. Sawamura shrieked and attempted to dodge Kuramochi's attacks, but Harucchi stepped in between the two of them before any blood could be spilled.

"Alright everyone let's just calm down and talk this out," Harucchi raised his hands in surrender.

"Oh, so you're in on whatever the hell this is aren't you?" Kuramochi glared at him. Harucchi chuckled nervously.

All of the sudden, the box flew off the ground and the kitten that was hidden under it sprinted towards Harucchi. Both Furuya and Sawamura dove to help grab the kitten but Harucchi beat them both to it, swooping down and holding the kitten in his arms. All kuramochi could do was stare.

"Alright, so we can explain..." Sawamura started but Kuramochi raised a hand to cut him off.

"You all are hiding a fucking kitten in my goddamn room," he said in a terrifyingly calm tone.

"...Maybe" Sawamura murmured.

"I...I don't even know what to say," Kuramochi pinched the bridge of his nose, "how long have you had it?"

"We just found him today," Harucchi supplied helpfully. Kuramochi sighed deeply.

"Can I see him?" he muttered. Harucchi quietly placed the kitten in his arms and Sawamura, Furuya, and Harucchi watched in anticipation to see how Kuramochi would react.

The kitten stared at Kuramochi with bright yellow eyes and gave a soft little 'meow', that's all it took for Kuramochi to practically melt.

He started giggling like a little kid and cuddling the kitten in his arms. Harucchi, Furuya, and Sawamura stared on in shock.

"Ok because he's literally the cutest thing ever and I happen to love cats, I'll help you keep an eye on him," Kuramochi said while stroking the kitten's head.

"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Sawamura exclaimed. Both Harucchi and Furuya nodded in agreement.

"If you keep yelling in turning you in though," Kuramochi called to Sawamura as he punched him on the shoulder. Sawamura squeaked in pain and scampered away from him.

"Now because you don't have to hide this little guy from me we can make him a better place to sleep," Kuramochi said.

"Oh yeah, your right!" Sawamura said brightly.

"Everyone should find stuff around their rooms to make a comfortable bed for him then come back here to set it up," Furuya suggested.

"Good idea, let's go!" Harucchi cheered.

"Hi, yeah, Youichi," Miyuki said over the phone.

"Hey, what's up," Kuramochi asked.

"Why in the ever-living fuck is there a cat in your room?" Miyuki chirped.

"...shit," Kuramochi scrambled to hang up the phone and sprint from the batting cages where he was practicing back to his room. They had only been hiding the kitten for a week and someone had already found him. Given that person was Miyuki, who was constantly in Kuramochi's room, but still. He threw open the door and saw Miyuki eyeing the kitten suspiciously. Kuramochi quickly slammed the door shut behind him and moved to pick the kitten up in his arms.

"Sooo," Kuramochi awkwardly mumbled.

"This was Sawamura's doing, wasn't it?" Miyuki said matter-of-factly.

"Yeah, yeah, it was him Harucchi and Furuya," Kuramochi sighed.

"Right, I'm not even surprised," Miyuki muttered.

"So team caption, you gonna turn us in?" Kuramochi asked, sounding a bit sad.

"Hahaha no way," Miyuki snickered, "you know how funny it is that you four are hiding a whole ass kitten from Coach right now? No way I'm gonna fuck that up, it's too perfect."

Kuramochi let out a sigh of relief.

"Good cause we've put so much effort into keeping this little guy hidden," Kuramochi pat the kitten's head.

"Yeah I figured as much, so does he have a name?" Miyuki asked curiously.

"Now that you mention it, no we haven't named him yet," Kuramochi said, "we should probably get on that though."

"How long have you had him?"

"About a week now,"

"Damn you've hidden him for that long!"

Kuramochi chuckled.

"we've been pretty careful with keeping him secret,"

At that moment Sawamura barged into the room, with Harucchi right on his tail, yelling about who knows what. The two of them noted Miyuki in the room and Kuramochi holding the kitten and knew Miyuki had busted them for having the cat.

"Damn, I knew it was only a matter of time before he found out," Harucchi muttered.

"Relax I'm not gonna tell anyone," Miyuki reassured him. Sawamura perked up beside Harucchi.

"Really?"

"Nah, this is too funny,"

"Yay!" Sawamura cheered.

"Miyuki-senpai, do you want to hold him?" Harucchi asked.

"I'll take a pass, animals tend to not like me," Miyuki shrugged, "anyways, tell me how you found him?" Everyone sat and listened as Sawamura launched into a long-winded story, with the kitten moving around to cuddle with everyone. Miyuki silently moved away as the kitten strolled past him and feigned disinterest. But little did everyone else know, whenever he happened to be alone with the kitten he would scoop him up in his arms and hold him on his lap.

Slowly but surely the rest of the team learned of the hidden kitten (named Hi-Chew, courtesy of Miyuki. It was much better than Sawamura's suggestion of naming him dog) and he became the team's unofficial mascot of sorts. Hi-Chew would always be brought to Miyuki's room when everyone crashed there to play video games after practice and, when someone was daring enough, even snuck into the dough out during practice for "moral support". The whole team had done a great job of keeping him hidden from Coach until one day...

"FUCK WHERE THEY HELL IS HE?!" Kuramochi yelled.

"I HAVE NO CLUE!" Sawamura yelled back as they both franticly ran around their room, searching for the missing kitten.

"shit," Kuramochi breathed, "he must have slipped out of the room when I left for practice this morning,"

"WELL, WHY THE HELL DID YOU LET THAT HAPPEN?!" Sawamura screeched. Kuramochi kicked him on the shin.

"I obviously didn't plan this you idiot, now let's get everyone else and see what we should do." Sawamura nodded and they both sprinted to get the rest of their teammates.

"Just go for it," Zono whispered.

"It will be ok Miyuki-senpai," Harucchi quietly encouraged.

"Shut up all of you," Miyuki whisper-yelled. After much deliberation and hunting for Hi-Chew, everyone had decided it was best to come clean to Coach and let him know that the kitten was missing and that they even had a cat in the first place. Miyuki, being team captain, had been forced to be the one to tell Coach and was now standing outside his office with the rest of the team, preparing to enter. He took a deep breath and pushed open the door.

"Nice knowing you," a voice that sounded like Sawamura's piped up from the back of the crowd, followed shortly by a squeak of pain as someone hit him in an attempt to make him be quieter.

Miyuki silently slipped into the office and prepared to speak, but cut himself off before he said anything. He stared, wide-eyed, as he watched Coach sitting on the ground holding what appeared to be a pen and letting their missing kitten chase after it. Before he could be noticed, he ducked out of Coache's office and headed out to the field, gesturing for the rest of the team to follow him.

"What, what is it?" Kuramochi asked.

"Yeah, did you even talk to him?" Sawamura questioned.

"No need to," Miyuki said as a smile played across his lips, "when I walked in, Coach was sitting on the floor playing with Hi-Chew so I think it's ok that we have him." Everyone cheered in response. After that day, Hi-Chew, the tiny black kitten, became the true, official mascot of the baseball team.
