Peridot was quite literally staring down the barrel of a gun.

Amethyst couldn't believe what she was seeing. She was very well tempted to run up the stage and snatch the gun away from Sardonyx. She wanted to yell, and to take action. But she did none of these things. Instead, she stared at Peridot, who had gripped her dress, terrified that having a gun pulled on her would give her some sort of post traumatic stress.

Then, Amethyst saw the look on Peridot's face. Peridot's expression had changed from terrified into a more dignified smirk. Amethyst wondered why her girlfriend would have such a calm expression when she was faced with such a dangerous situation. She felt Yellow Diamond shift slightly in her seat, ready to run to the stage if anything went wrong. She saw Jasper turn her chair to the side, prepared to do the same.

Amethyst studied Sardonyx's face, her body language. Why the Hell would a show-woman use a prop that was under such conspiracy?

Finally, Amethyst had the realization that, despite the look of the danger, the feeling of unease that had settled over the auditorium, Sardonyx was a professional.

"I like the look on your face." Sardonyx commented. She pointed the gun towards the ceiling and pulled the trigger. People expected a loud bang, but instead, flowers emerged from the barrel. Sardonyx smiled at Peridot apologetically. "Sorry for the scare, darling. Thought I'd give you a little fright since you came up here with the wrong card."

"How do you- "

"A magician never reveals her tricks." Sardonyx interrupted. She put her gun away after pulling the flowers from the barrel and took a bow. "But, seeing as how I pointed a gun at you, all is forgiven! Shall we get on with the show?"

Peridot crossed her arms. "Honestly, no."

"No?" Sardonyx asked, looking a little surprised at Peridot's answer.

"I don't appreciate having a gun pointed at me." Peridot explained. "I don't care if it's fake, or if it's for a show. It's not for me. I'm sorry, but you'll need another volunteer." She stepped from the stage and walked back to the table with Amethyst, Yellow, and Jasper. She took her seat beside her girlfriend, not bothering to say a word. She kept her arms close to herself, taking a deep breath.

Amethyst moved her seat closer to Peridot's and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "You alright?"

"Yeah." Peridot replied. She smiled, and Amethyst knew she was telling the truth.

"I'm proud of you, sweetie." Yellow said, and Peridot couldn't help but put a wider smile on her face. It felt good, having someone proud of her. It felt better to be proud of herself.

Their attention was turned back to Sardonyx, who cleared her throat. "Well, sorry about my insensitivity." She pulled the gun from her pocket again and tossed it to the side of the stage, behind the curtains. "In my other shows, the gun was well received, but I won't be using it anymore. Aside from that," Sardonyx gestured to the other side of the stage, where some of her assistants pushed a big black box into sight, "let's get on with the show!"

The rest of the evening went without incident. Sardonyx performed the usual magic you would see on almost any stage, adding her charismatic flare to the acts. Within a few minutes, everyone was back to being awed by this wonderful performer. She made people laugh, gasp, and she accepted a few more volunteers for some of her other acts. Sword stabbing, rope cutting, even some tricks with a Rubik's Cube; people loved that one. Peridot was even enjoying herself again.

Before long, the show had come to an end. People clapped and cheered as Sardonyx took her final bow, the curtain lowering to cover the stage.

Yellow sat back in her chair after the standing ovation and laid her head in her hands. "I have to give it to her, she knows how to put on a show."

"That little gun stunt was uncalled for, though." Peridot commented.

Amethyst laughed. "You handled that like a champ! Man, after what you've been through, I'm surprised you didn't just wanna leave."

"I wanted to." Peridot confirmed. "But I'm more mature than that."

"Damn." Amethyst said with a disappointed click of her tongue. "I'm gonna have to try harder then."

"Try harder to do what?" Jasper asked. "Turn her into a brat? That would have been funny as hell, watching her throw a temper tantrum on stage."

Yellow shrugged, ignoring Amethyst's "Hell yeah!"

"I'm glad she kept her composure. After all, if she's going to take over my company, she needs to be level headed."

"When are you gonna start teaching me about the stuff you do?" Peridot asked.

"Any time, sweetie. You just say the word."

"Well when's your next trip?"

"Not for another few months, actually." Yellow replied with a blissful smile. "It feels good to not have baby barf on me, I'm not keen on getting back to that just yet."

"Just book your first class flights early." Amethyst suggested.

"Oh I do. But my sister, Blue, had a child recently. Flying for our business meetings is technically the only family time we have, so she brings her little girl."

"I can't believe she named her kid Pearl, though." Peridot said. "It's gonna get confusing when she grows up and comes to visit."

Yellow chuckled. "Yes, but that's a long time from now, dear. I'm sure you'll be able to figure out how to get one's attention without alerting the other."

"Dude!" Amethyst exclaimed suddenly, slapping Peridot's arm. "I totally forgot! Pearl is a total stud!"

Peridot rubbed her arm, chuckling. "What are you talking about?"

"You know that chick she was chatting up at her job all that time ago?" Amethyst asked, hardly able to keep her excitement. Peridot nodded. "They totally hooked up! Dude, there were hickeys all over her!"

"Is this appropriate conversation with my mom sitting with us?" Peridot asked.

Yellow laughed and stood up, with Jasper following suit. "I'd honestly love to hear all the juicy details, but I do have a schedule even outside of my meetings. Papers to look over, people to fire, you know how it is."

"I'll know soon enough." Peridot commented. She and Amethyst said their goodbyes, Peridot kissed her mother's cheek, and they went their separate ways. Amethyst so wanted to tease Jasper more about the engagement to Lapis, but she decided it was better to let them bask in the glow and nervousness of it all. Peridot took her mother's previous space across from Amethyst. "So tell me about Pearl." She asked Amethyst to continue.

As Peridot and Amethyst talked about the near impossibility that Pearl would, and has, become a total sexual deviant, amateur comedians took over the stage. The couple decided to stay and listen to some jokes, lightly chuckling at some, heavily groaning at others. Amateur hour was never really the best, but it was a great way to kill time if one had nothing better to do.

"Hey." Amethyst said suddenly. Peridot was resting her chin in her hand, and raised an eyebrow at her girlfriend.

"Hm?"

Amethyst just smiled. Peridot waited at least a few seconds for Amethyst to speak, but those words never came.

"What's up?" Peridot asked again, thinking her girlfriend didn't hear her. Then she felt Amethyst's bare foot against her leg. She smirked, thinking Amethyst was trying to play a little footsie. She slipped a foot out of her sandal and met Amethyst's under the table. They played with each other's feet, toes slipping between one another. Peridot giggled a little when Amethyst got a little close to a particularly ticklish spot.

"You're so cute, you know that?" Amethyst said, and Peridot nodded. She had gotten used to the constant complements.

"And you're a bombshell. What of it?"

Amethyst shrugged. "I'm just saying." Her foot left Peridot's and began stroking her leg instead. Peridot closed her eyes, enjoying Amethyst's smooth skin running along her own.

The couple stayed silent for a while, just enjoying each other's company. Peridot always felt a little odd in these calm moments. She had never thought in a million years that her life would end up so perfect after such a shit show. It took nearly twelve years for Peridot to finally be able to say that she was truly happy again.

Peridot's breath suddenly caught in her throat. She felt Amethyst's foot rise to her inner thigh. She studied Amethyst's face, but it looked like she was just focusing on the comedians. Was Amethyst intending to move her foot so high along Peridot's leg?

To Peridot, the tablecloth was fairly long. Nobody would be able to see what was going on under them. Was Amethyst trying to finish what they had started this morning, and in public? Peridot had to admit, the very idea of being played with while surrounded by several strangers was a little sexy. She had to test this.

"What do you think of the jokes so far?" Peridot asked, slightly spreading her legs at the same time.

"I dunno." Amethyst replied with a shrug. Peridot bit her lip as Amethyst's foot lifted her dress. She could feel Amethyst's toes just tease her thighs. Her legs allowed Amethyst's foot more room, and Peridot nearly gasped when she felt pressure against her crotch. "They're no Dane Cook, but they have some gems here and there."

From Amethyst's point of view, she was having the time of her life. She was lucky that Peridot let her do something so risky. The truth was that she felt bad for not giving her girlfriend an orgasm earlier that morning, but she'd never admit it. Peridot would refuse any advances Amethyst would make if that were the case.

She could feel Peridot getting more excited by the minute, the heat rising against her foot. Amethyst wanted to talk dirty and tease Peridot with her words, but in this place, she had to keep it quiet. With this information in mind, Amethyst set a challenge for herself; she was going to make Peridot scream.

"We should go out to these things more often." Amethyst suggested. "Give us a chance to experience new things, y'know?"

Peridot chuckled. "Oh yeah. Today especially is pretty new."

"Mmhhmmmm~" Amethyst agreed with a merry hum, running her big toe up and down Peridot's increasingly wet crotch.

Peridot sighed and leaned back in her chair, forcing her legs further apart and pushing her hips forward. She found herself grinding on Amethyst's foot, basically masturbating with her girlfriend's toes. "You're so evil…"

"No idea what you're talking about, babe." Amethyst was keen on keeping up the charade. That was part of the fun, the role-play of it. Of course, sometimes a break of character is necessary. "Can't believe you're letting me do this, though."

"Do what?" Peridot asked, taking her turn to play their little game. As hot as this was, though, such little stimulation wouldn't do that much for her. She could definitely feel the heat in her core, and Amethyst's toes did feel good against her sex, but that was the extent of it. Most likely, they would continue this in either Peridot's or Amethyst's room. "We're just on a date."

Amethyst nodded. "You're right." She slid her foot from Peridot's crotch, and the blonde though that Amethyst had decided that this was enough. She had just closed her legs and fixed her dress when Amethyst leaned over the table, whispering. "Give me your panties."

Peridot was obviously surprised. Her eyes widened and she took a look around the room to see if anyone had heard Amethyst's hushed voice. It seemed no one did. She leaned across the table, matching Amethyst's whisper. "Are you serious?"

Amethyst nodded, biting her lip. She was excited, that much was obvious. Peridot, however, was a little worried. "I don't… I don't know."

"Come on." Amethyst persisted. "It'll be so hot."

Peridot had a weakness, and her name was Amethyst. She could never say "no" to this woman. Peridot forced her body forward, closing the gap between their lips for just a second. She then leaned back, and shuffled with her hands under the table. Amethyst felt Peridot's foot on her leg, and she felt something fall into her lap. It was definitely Peridot's pair of underwear.

Amethyst pocketed her prize and chuckled at Peridot's sheepish smile. "How do you feel?"

"Breezy." Peridot quickly replied. "Have you ever done that before?"

"What, gone commando?" Peridot nodded. "A couple times. Usually just 'cause it feels comfy."

"It really does." Peridot agreed. She fiddled with her dress, averting her eyes from Amethyst.

"Wanna say something?" Amethyst asked.

"Will you, uh…" Peridot paused. Amethyst raised an eyebrow, feeling Peridot's foot run up her leg. "…you know?"

Amethyst leaned forward. "You want me to keep playing with you?"

"More or less." Peridot whispered.

Amethyst looked around the room. People seemed to be into their own conversations or the comedians on the stage. She guessed no one would notice if she were to just disappear.

"I've got a better idea." Amethyst said. She leaned back in her seat, allowing herself to slide under the table to her knees, making sure the table cloth hid her from view.

Peridot was surprised, even to the point of comically covering her mouth. Amethyst had really just ducked under the table to pleasure her. The seconds passed, and Peridot felt more anticipation with each passing moment. She twitched when she felt Amethyst's hand lift her dress. She spread her legs wide, eager to feel what Amethyst had to offer.

Peridot both loved and hated this. The anticipation and risk of this act, not being able to see Amethyst and tell what she would do and when it would happen. This lewd act in such a public area really made her feel hot. Amethyst was moving too slowly for her liking.

Peridot felt hands caressing her inner thighs, softly massaging her skin. She felt lips trail up and down her legs, to her feet, and she even felt her toes being sucked on. That was an odd experience, but her toes were still such a sensitive part of her body that it turned her on even more. Eventually, those lips made it to her thighs. Peridot held her breath, gripping her dress, and exhaled in a gasp when she felt a tongue against her clit.

Amethyst was always one to please. Peridot had to bite her lip to keep from making any noise, but her girlfriend's tongue was magical. Luckily, Amethyst was taking it slow, trying to stimulate anything aside from her clit, except for that first lick. Peridot made it clear she did enjoy a slow build up.

"Excuse me?"

Peridot looked up with a jolt, and she felt Amethyst freeze. Sardonyx stood there in her waitress outfit. Her hair and skin tone were the same color as for her show, but the hair was let down and pulled into a short ponytail. She looked worried, and had her hands behind her back.

"I do hate to bother you." Sardonyx said. "I just wanted to apologize for before."

"Oh, uh…" Peridot stammered, her mind torn between the conversation and the fact that her girlfriend was still under the table. "It's fine. I'm over it."

"It isn't, though." Sardonyx replied. Without asking, she took Amethyst's empty seat. "It was wrong of me to assume everyone would be alright with my particular show style. You had what you believed was a real gun pointed at you, and I'm sorry for doing something as crude as such."

"N-No really!" Peridot exclaimed, feeling Amethyst shift her position so that Sardonyx would not feel her. "Like you said, it was for a show. I should have expected something like that."

"Well I'm glad you don't seem to mind." Sardonyx smiled. "I would still like to make it up to you. Perhaps we could go to dinner?"

"I don't know." Peridot replied. "My girlfriend might not appreciate that."

"I'll treat her as well!" Sardonyx argued. "No patron of mine should ever feel that they or their loved one is being threatened."

Peridot couldn't help it. The way Sardonyx spoke as well as her mannerisms were kind of adorable. She smiled. "You know what, yeah. That sounds good. Do you have a time in mind?"

"My crew and I are here for a few more days before we move on to the next city." Sardonyx admitted. "Any time before then would be grand. Perhaps tomorrow evening, after my mid-day show?" Peridot nodded.

"Sounds good to meEE!!" Peridot nearly screamed, covering her mouth. She felt Amethyst's finger caressing her again. She immediately reached under the table to grasp her girlfriend's hand, squeezing hard. Now was not the time for that.

"Are you alright?" Sardonyx asked.

"Hiccups!" Peridot hastily covered up her noise, giving Amethyst's hand another hard squeeze, coughing into her other hand. "It, uh… caught me by surprise."

Sardonyx waved her hand. "Alright then. I supposed if you'd like, you can show up here tomorrow. I plan on my show ending around four. Is that alright with you?"

"That sounds great!" Peridot wanted this conversation to end as quickly as possible. She stood from her chair, sure to even out her dress before extending a hand to Sardonyx. "My name is Peridot, by the way."

"Sardonyx, to my audience." Sardonyx replied, taking Peridot's hand. "Sam, to pretty much anyone else."

Both of the women jumped from their skin in shock when they heard a disembodied voice shout, "I knew it!"

Sardonyx placed a hand over her heart, attempting to catch her breath. She looked around the room to try and figure out where the voice came from. "What the bloody hell was that?"

"I have no idea!" Peridot yelled just as loudly as the voice. She pushed her seat under the table hard, hoping to punish Amethyst for her excited outburst. Of course, she couldn't blame her girlfriend. There was an extreme possibility that this Sardonyx could be the very same friend from their orphanage. Who was Peridot kidding, though? Of course she was their old friend. If she wasn't, then it was one Hell of a coincidence. "That scared me just as badly as you."

"Well, whatever it was, I hope it doesn't change our plans?" Sardonyx asked. Peridot shook her head.

"Not at all! I'm looking forward to getting to know the woman behind the character."

"Really, darling?" Sardonyx asked, standing from her seat. "I'm sure we both know the woman and her character are one and the same."

Sardonyx left with those words in the air, and Peridot breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'm going to the bathroom." Peridot said to no one in particular. "Make sure my underwear makes it to the car?"

"Yeah." Said the voice from under the table. "You got it."

Peridot, disappointed and her face flush in embarrassment and arousal, made her way to the building's restroom. Today was being an ass.

I'm back, bitches!
