Chapter Thirteen – If You're Happy and You Know it Snap Your Fingers
LC and Cameron's, Agoura Hills, Los Angeles, CA
Aurora Rose Helmsley and Beth Hardy went with the 3C's to visit her sister LC in California to plan for the wedding between their little brother Hayworth and Charlene MacKenzie. As excited as Carla and Cassidy were for their dear old friend, they were nervous about Triple H. LC, being Hunter's favorite family bad* was the only member of the family Aurora thought could bring Hunter around to being happy for HayMac. As it currently stood, the Game still hadn't given them his blessing and it was really starting to piss everyone off.
"I'm pretty sure Daddy's terrified of you Lisa," Aurora said pulling off her coat which Beth Hardy took and hung up in the Michaels' coat peg alongside all the other family coats. To Beth Hardy, Aurora and LC were definitely the less glamourous members of the DX family. Like her father, Aurora spent more time in the gym working out and LC paid more attention to raising her family and writing Gospel music for her sister-in-law Chyenne Callaway. Neither of the Helmsley girls were particularly girly but the news of Hayworth getting married to Charlene MacKenzie certainly brought out the sweetness in both of them. Carla and Cassidy could only hope that would rub off on Hunter by the time his daughters were through with him. The last thing anyone wanted was for the Brain's wedding to the woman of his dreams to be spoiled by his Bonehead father.
Aurora picked up Faith Star who was more interested in her aunt's jewellery rather than her new role as baby flower girl. She'd rather eat the flowers than carry them in a cute little basket, as she felt her ears to figure out where to put her own studs when she was old enough to get her ears pierced so she could look cool like her aunt Ro-Ro.
"So how are you two going to get through to your Boneheaded father?" Cameron asked his wife and sister-in-law as his daughter played with her ear lobes curiously.
LC looked at her husband nonchalantly, "The same way we always do: with violent threats and acts of supernatural power," she said. "If Daddy wants to ruin Hayworth's future as the happiest man alive, he's going to have to get through my Ax of Judgement and Ro-Ro's Hurricane power to do it,"
Aurora nodded in total agreement with her sister, "I agree with that. Nothing is going to ruin our baby brother's happiness. You both know what this is really about right?" she asked LC and Cameron while smiling at her niece and pinching her cute little nose; a facial feature that she certainly did not inherit from her father Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
Cameron nodded before getting up to embrace Charlie Mac who was getting a little anxious about the DX children having a confrontation with Hunter over her marriage to Hayworth. "Yeah, we know; it's about Stephanie McMahon, the reason for all things painful,"
LC squeezed Mac's hand supportively, "She wants NXT to add to her trophy case of acquisitions and she knows just which one of Daddy's heart strings to pull to get it from DX. This has got nothing to do with you marrying Hayworth, so please don't take any of what's about to go down between the DX family personally,"
Beth Hardy looked at Cassidy and Carla who's faces were tight with indignation; they were taking this very personally indeed.
"You might be super calm right now LC but we're pissed. We should be celebrating right now, and instead we're in the Golden State walking on eggshells so your Dad doesn't ruin the most important day of Mac's life. Will there ever be a time when your father's issues with Stephanie doesn't affect everyone else's life?!" Cassidy Montenegro said clearly upset about Hunter's behaviour.
"In a word – no, there will never be a time when our father's issues with Stephanie McMahon don't affect the rest of the family," LC replied and she smiled at Mac who still looked anxious, "but we've been doing this for a long time, we got this down, we know how the story ends. Love wins everytime, you and Hayworth have got nothing to worry about,"
"Really?" Mac asked hopefully. "The last thing I want to do is cause anyone any problems. I've known you guys forever and I love you all so much, I thought that Hunter might try to stop the wedding like he did when Seth and Sasha got married,"
Cameron and LC looked at each other at the mention of the Black and Blue Connection, they had a whole other view on them that they were not about to share with the future Mrs Helmsley, "Seth and Sasha are a different situation, this is a case of business coming before family and Hunter just needs to get his priorities in order," Cameron said. "He needs to be focussing on you and Hayworth right now but if Stephanie continues to make a play for NXT, the less he'll care about his family over the next few months until after Wrestlemania. It's the way it is in this family and we all hate it. Why do you think none of us became professional wrestlers?"
Mac nodded, "How ironic; you're all part of the most powerful family in the wrestling business and you all hate the business of professional wrestling. Hayworth is just the same, he doesn't want to have anything to do with pro wrestling. The only thing he likes about wrestling are the wrestlers. If Hunter quit the business tomorrow he'd be happy,"
"We all would!" Aurora said and the DX children burst out laughing while Faith Star wondered what was so funny.
"Why are you all laughing at grandpa Daddy?" Faith Star asked Cameron. "Did Grandpa do something wrong?"
"Yes, he became the co-owner of a professional wrestling company," Cameron replied.
"But isn't that how Grandpa met Grandma? Isn't that how you bought this house and put food on the table?" Faith Star said and LC shook her head.
"That is the last time I let Hunter put you to bed," she said. "He's filling your head with his promos when he should be singing you lullabies like a normal Grandpa,"
"I love it when Grandpa puts me to bed, he makes me so grateful for everything I have, including you two ingrates," Faith Star said to her parents and LC and Cameron gasped at their little girl's attitude.
"Don't you talk to us like that Faith Star, your Grandpa's filling your head with propaganda again," LC said.
"So are you saying he didn't bring you into this world, are you saying he didn't create you in the womb and that he could destroy you with a click of his fingers?!" Faith Star said and Beth Hardy, Carla and Cassidy laughed at Faith Star's comments.
"I told you not to watch Avengers with your Grandpa," LC said.
"Actually, I think that was with Dean and Renee Ambrose," Cameron said as Faith Star clicked her fingers like Thanos.
"It didn't work, you're still here," she said and LC spanked her daughter who wept at being disciplined in front of the DX family.
"Now she wants us to disappear, you see how deep the Degenerate blood runs in our family Mac?" LC said as Faith Star wiped the tears of a spanked bottom from her eyes.
"And you're marrying into it," Carla said and Mac nodded.
"Hayworth's nothing like you guys though; he's smart and he's reserved and he thinks before he talks," Mac replied.
"Hey!" the DX kids said offended and Faith Star clicked her fingers.
"Faith Star stop trying to make us disappear!" Cameron warned his daughter who stuck her fingers in her ears trying to block out her father's voice.
"What's gotten into her?" Aurora asked LC.
"She's Degenerating right before our eyes, I knew this day would come Lisa, I just knew something bad would come of marrying a Helmsley!" Cameron replied.
"Or she's just spending way too much time with Dean Ambrose. Those Shield boys are a bad influence on baby girls," LC said.
"Well it's a good thing Sasha's having a boy," Beth Hardy said and everyone chuckled. "Hey Faith Star, wanna see how Thanos really makes people disappear?"
"I sure do!" Faith Star said and LC and Cameron shook their heads furiously.
"No Beth don't she'll copy it," LC said and Beth Hardy shrugged.
"So, its just a joke. Watch this Faith Star," Beth Hardy said.
"No!" LC and Cameron said at the same time and Beth Hardy used her Gift of Transcendence to make LC and Cameron disappear.
Faith Star looked around and saw that her parents were gone. She burst into tears and Aurora, Carla and Cassidy tried to comfort her.
"Bring them back!" Aurora yelled at Beth Hardy who quickly Transcended LC and Cameron back to the kitchen.
"I just sent them to the bathroom," Beth Hardy explained as LC and Cameron reached for their crying baby girl.
"We told you not to use your Gift of Transcendence in front of Faith Star. She's just a baby Beth, what were you thinking? Do you know how traumatic it can be for a child to see their parents disappear?" Cameron cried outraged and Beth Hardy looked down sadly.
"Yeah Cameron I do know, after all, isn't that what you're all hoping will happen to my Mom? You've been trashing Stephanie forgetting that she raised me and my twin sister with my Dad. Maybe you should remember how things used to be before you start tearing my family apart in front of your precious little girl," Beth Hardy said and she Transcended herself away from LC and Cameron's house, leaving Faith Star wondering where she went.
"This is the best game of hide and seek I've ever played!" Faith Star said and she went to find Beth Hardy who she assumed was hiding somewhere in the house.
Aurora went after her while LC and Cameron took a deep breath, "Sorry about that guys, Beth Hardy is her father's daughter and we can't really trust her right now. She's got a mad crush on Seth Rollins though so at least we have that ace in the hole," she said to the 3C's.
"That's good news, if anyone can get through to a troubled female its Seth Rollins," Mac said.
"Why don't you give him a call and tell him Beth Hardy might need some of his self-esteem counselling?" Cameron said and LC nudged her husband in disapproval. "Ow, what?"
"Seth's got enough on his plate right now, Beth is not his daughter, if anyone should be talking to her its Jeff, not Seth," LC said.
"Why on Earth would you think that's a good idea? You know how much Beth hates her father right now," Cameron said.
"That might be but he is still her father and Seth needs to focus on the women God has assigned to him, Beth Hardy is not one of those girls," LC said and the 3C's exchanged glances.
"Well maybe she should be," they said to each other, "you don't want Beth going to the Damsels of Destruction for advice. Given her relationship with her parents, Beth is the kind of client the DoD would just love to have,"
"Sometimes even Prayer Warriors need a break and right now, that's exactly what Seth Rollins needs, so let's all give him one guys," LC said as Aurora came back with Faith Star who couldn't understand where the sad girl with the big green eyes went.
"I looked everywhere auntie Ro-Ro, but I couldn't find her," Faith Star said shrugging.
"Well actually you just looked at the top of the stairs," Aurora replied and Faith Star snapped her fingers again.
"Oh, I was hoping that if I snapped my fingers, she would come back," Faith Star said and Aurora sighed.
"I have a feeling you won't be seeing Beth Hardy for a very long time Faith Star," she said and she picked up her niece to go and pick out the best-looking cookie from the family cookie jar. They could all do with a little more sweetness in their lives as far as the Helmsley Girls was concerned.
