Sonic, Tails and Knuckles had become really close by now. All of them were like brothers to each other, hanging out in the jungle; relaxing, playing, having meals together and sleepovers in the living room. Life was perfect for the trio.

"Ahh. You gotta admit," Tails sighed happily, "we had a pretty good thing goin' there."

"We coulda gone on like that forever." Sonic added.

"Except for one teeny weeny little thing we forgot to count on…"

Sometime later…

A orange echidna manages to pin Knuckles on his back while they were fighting.

"Tikal?"

The orange one backs off Knuckles for a moment and takes a good look at him.

"Who are you?"

"It's me… Knuckles."

"Knuckles…"

Tikal and Knuckles gasped when they realised that the other was their childhood friend.

"Whoa!"

The two rush toward each other and hug, then do a 'code handshake' and start playfully roughhousing.

"Well how did you…"

"Aaah! How did you..."

"Where did you come from..."

"Who... wow... this is cool... it's great to see you..."

"it's great to see YOU…"

Sonic and Tails stare at each other in shock, then cut to the four of them just after the whole 'Knuckles and Tikal walking alone' thing.

"Tails, all this time…" Sonic spoke as they got to the living room, "Knuckles didn't tell us he had a girlfriend."

"I know." He agreed, "We should leave them be. Let them work it out."

Just then however, another echidna came stalking through the jungle (Lien-Da, to be exact). Sonic had accidentally left the window open, as Lien-Da talked to herself.

"So, she refused our new guardian's rule but instead goes off to find the 'true' future guardian." She muttered, "Guess I'll have to fix that."

"Tails!" Cried Sonic, "Did you hear that?"

"That beast is about to wreak Knuckles' and Tikal's romantic night!" Tails realised, "Sonic, we have to help them feel the love tonight!"

The theme song from "Peter Gunn" plays as Tails springs into action. He whispers in Sonic's ear; Sonic nods, and they high-five.

As Knuckles and Tikal gambol among the trees, Tails parts the tall grass.

Cute so far. Thought the fox and hedgehog, smiling.

Lien-Da then fires a blow-dart at Tikal, which sticks in her hand.

"Ow!" She yelped.

"That's not good…" Sonic said to himself.

Then, Knuckles gallantly plucks it out with a 'Look at me, I saved the day' look and throws it aside into the bushes, where it hits the evil echidna, who squeals.

"Aaaahhh!"

Tikal pushes under Knuckles' chin sweetly.

Knuckles/Tikal: Can you feel the love tonight?

"Aww!" Sonic and Tails whispered from where they were. Knuckles and Tikal walked off lovingly.

"Crisis averted." Tails said to himself.

"Uh, little buddy?"

The "Peter Gunn" music resumes as Lien-Da got a spider out and followed after the couple.

"Guess we need a plan B…"

When they get to the next location, Lien-Da holds up a big spider, she lowers it like a yo-yo towards the two Echidnas.

Sonic and Tails look on in horror.

"What should we do?" Asked the fox.

"Hmm…" Sonic sees another spider on the ground. "Excuse me, Miss Spider?" He asked, "Could you talk to your friend and get him to stop attacking that echidna couple over there?"

"We're trying to stop the devil's plans over there." Tails went on hopefully, "could you help us?"

The female spider nodded and went up the tree. What she didn't expect was the male spider to be attracted to her. And… he was rather attractive to her too. Instead of a peacetalk like Sonic and Tails had hoped for, the spiders weave a bunch of heart-shaped webs behind the echidna couple as they nuzzle.

Knuckles/Tikal: Can you feel the love tonight? With all the peace the evening brings?

"That's so romantic." Tails gushed, overcome with it.

"Aw, that went better than I thought." Sonic sighed happily, "Eh… ha!" Sonic then laughed.

"What's so funny…"

"Her!"

Lien-Da was wrapped up in spider silk, and Tails laughed too, while the evil echidna growled in anger, got herself out, and went to another plan she had.

"Plan C?" Asked Sonic.

"Plan C!"

The hedgehog and fox raced after her. Back to the "Peter Gunn" music.

As Knuckles and Tikal pass by on a romantic walk, the evil echidna hurls a huge beehive at them. But the bees stay right there above her in a solid cloud.

"Look, Sonic!"

"Well… that's a stinger!"

Both laughed at the joke and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" resumes, and Lien-Da races away with the bees in hot pursuit.

Knuckles/Tikal: Can you feel the love...?

"Aww." Gushed Sonic, "Another cute moment for those two."

"And yet another disaster avoided." Tails said proudly.

Lien-Da walks off yet again with a vine.

"Time for plan D!" The brothers agreed.

Back to "Peter Gunn"; Lien-Da now has several bee stings on her head, a black eye swollen shut, and a missing tooth. She ties the vine across Knuckles and Tikal's path, then steps back.

Meanwhile, Sonic and Tails looked into a tree where a flock of butterflies were, and whispered a plan, then rushed back to where Lien-Da was.

Back with Knuckles and Tikal, the young echidnas mock-wrestle their way across the vine.

"Whoah-oh!" Tikal cried as she trips when Lien-Da and Sonic and Tails pull it taunt.

The two echidnas collapse down the hillside, rolling all the way to the bottom, their movement flinging Lien-Da and the hedgehog and fox into the air (Tails grabs Sonic and they land safely) while the evil echidna continues across the gully to where she plunges into a tree, disturbing the butterflies. "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" resumes as Knuckles and Tikal cuddle in the undergrowth.

The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things

Sonic and Tails run back to the bush.

"Well, that worked like a dream." Tails said genuinely.

"Would you look there?" Sighed Sonic.

"They are so cute when they cuddle!"

Lien-Da groaned and fell to the floor.

"You win this time, Knuckles, but I will be back!" She announced, flouncing away.

Knuckles/Tikal: Can you feel the love tonight?
You needn't look too far…

"She's makin' those eyes." Tails smirked.

"He's smiling that smile."

"They're laughing... and hugging... and—and..."

Knuckles and Tikal are in a courtship routine, and making their way toward the cottage.

Tikal: And if he feels the love tonight

Knuckles: It's enough for this restless wonderer…

Both: Just to be with you.

Sonic and Tails smile wistfully at the new couple.

"Shall we do some stargazing again?" Asked Tails.

"Why not?"

The brothers raced away.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Julie-Su and Shade were still searching for Tikal. They couldn't believe that she hadn't woke them up when morning came, and she left on her own.

"According to what the crocodile told us," Julie-Su said quietly, "Tikal was to meet with us later. But I'm still very worried about her."

"Me too," Shade sighed, "but we have to find her. We promised her mother to protect her in case something bad happened to her."

But it was very late and the two decided to camp out for the night because it was very dangerous to prowl into unknown territory in the evenings.

"You really think we'll find someone to help save the island?" asked Julie-Su.

"I don't know." Shade replied, "But we must move forward. The fate of the island depends on us to find someone who can help." said Shade.

Both looked to the sky and saw a shooting star. They each made one wish. One: To find Tikal, and two, to save the island of its tyranny.

Just at that moment elsewhere, Ralph, Remington, Gabor, Jon and Kneecaps saw the same star, and they made a wish, for the island to in safe hands once again.
